In the past 3 weeks Tenn Tech beat Tenn-Martin by 3 and Gardner-Webb by 6. Both those teams are rated very similar to a bad 3-8 N Iowa team in the Sagarin combined FBS/FCS rankings. If UND plays up to their level, they win.

Tenn Tech 11-1 but their strength of schedule was no where near as tough as UND’s.

Do not believe so. Their strength of schedule was way less than UND’s.

Good record, for sure, but their strength of schedule was nowhere near ours. We just gotta play to our level and not the opponent’s.

Utilized fullbacks and tight ends are a rare breed at UND.

The real deflating goal was the one by AZ St with just 6 seconds left in the 2nd period. Get out of that period down just 1 and that goal UND got fairly early in 3rd period ties it up.

Regarding Deng-Deng, how many times did we throw to him and how many catches did he make? It seems very minimal. The guy is a beast physically at FCS level. Gotta use him more.

Is SD top tier? Much improved last few weeks but not sure they are “top tier”and we lost to them. Whichever they are, they’re sort of on par with Youngstown St and S Illinois, who we beat fairly comfortably.

I can’t argue with you. Our bread and butter should be short to intermediate pass plays to include TE and RB. Also need more motion and misdirection in order go better keep the defense guessing. Seemed like early in the season we did this more often but not so much lately. More vanilla and predictable last few games.

Didn’t we make the playoffs a few to several seasons ago though with 4 FCS losses (have 1 loss to FBS this season) when there were less teams in the playoffs than there are now? I could be wrong.

Saw most of the 2nd half vs Youngstown St and it was tough to watch at times. There’s not a lot to work with and if any injuries befell any of our top players, look out. Not breaking news with the mass exodus of players (some good one’s) following last season but this will be a long season with a ton of improvement needed. Just going to have to be patient with coach Hutter and hope within 2-3 years he has the ship on course/righted. I think he’s a good fit for the job but it will take patience.

Cus he’s not Quincy Vaughn.
