  1. Well that block of Fighting Hawk voters wasn't here, which is mainly alumni. Where did it come from? SunDogs came from mainly the faculty. May as well just let the students vote.
  2. That is the honorable thing to do, after the process was run roughshod by Kelley. Can we get a wild unbroken horse to ride him out of town?
  3. The student voice wins. Not that the students shouldn't participate, but the alumni are divided by NoDaks and Roughriders, so their voice is essentially divided and is not heard. Kelley needs to make a third vote if no nickname gets a majority, like he agreed before. Kelley is such a joke.
  4. If voting is kept at three and no majority is needed, Fighting Hawks is almost assured of a victory. I'm sick. Could have lived with NoDaks, loved RR, but not to be a dumb bird like everyone else is. The Sundogs and North Stars votes would almost all have to go for RR or NoDaks Forrest those to win. It should be a final two, which is what Kelley promised.
  5. Or a Dirtbag uni to a 49ers game. Its not confusing, except maybe to you. The two names can compliment each other.
  6. Can we hire Mussman as offensive coordinator? He's not HC material, but as an OC he's not bad.
  7. It depend on if Grand Forks develops the kind of infrastructure in employment opportunities and city amenities to make it a "must be in" location for UAVs. More companies are needed, especially startups, and they need financing sources. A lot of high level execs like places with amenities like 4 and 5 star hotels and high rated restaurants when they visit. Grand Forks and even Fargo don't cut it. Employees like outdoor recreation and a lively shopping and downtown scene. With the Greenway, that helps, but more development is needed. Flights to Chicago and Denver would also help.
  8. It would be Roughriders for everything but hockey. If the hockey teams was NoDaks, nobody would be confused about where they are from. A NoDak uniform can be an interlocking ND, a skater, or even a Roughrider logo with NoDak in words. Hockey can use several uniform choices. With the fan base already pssed at a nickname change, why rub it in more with a new nickname they don't like?
  9. Why not have two nickname? One for the hockey teams and one for all other sports? This is not without precedence, as Auburn has Tigers and the War Eagles cry, and Long Beach St has 49ers for most the their teams but Dirtbags for their baseball team in honor of their style and making the college world series several times. Long Beach St just goes by Beach on most of their unis, not 49ers. They sell separate Dirtbags uniforms and other merchandise. This kind of flies in the face of conventional wisdom, but Google went against conventional wisdom with their constantly changing Google themed search page (corporate logos are supposed to be totally consistent), which are very popular. Marketing wizards were wrong about Google changing search choice logos - it didn't create confusion about the brand and just served to make Google even more popular. Let the hockey teams be NoDaks and the other teams be Roughriders. There would be more merchandise to sell and all the teams would be honored, with hockey getting the special accolades it deserves. With NoDaks and Roughriders so close, and NoDaks as a favorite of hockey fans, why not give the fans what they want? It would be the perfect Solomonic solution, and not piss off either hockey or football fans.
  10. Googled other sourcess and apatently there is currentlying a pilot demonstration down by Bowman. Don't know how far north geothermal electrical production would be practical. Sounds like much of the Julesburg Basin in Colorado and Wyoming would be.
  11. But they are there in New Town to get American Indians on their payroll to satisfy the DOD. Not saying its not a productive branch, but it serves other political purposes.
  12. Contact Will Gosnold or Anna Crowley. Think that they are in the Geology or Petr Eng departments. The brine almost certainly gets deep welled after its energy has been extracted.
  13. But Senator Connie Triplett said the EERC was doomed without her fired abusive husband.
  14. http://bismarcktribune.com/news/state-and-regional/chairman-of-israeli-radar-company-scouts-u-s-locations/article_cc18f670-9bc2-5d00-a6a6-6de17f2f1f16.html Not eats related, but it would be pretty sweet if smaller UAS related companies land in Grand Forks, like this Israeli 3-D antenna company. Northrup Gruman and General Atomics probably wont stay in the long term.
  15. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/geothermal-energy-could-soon-stage-220429027.html This article says UND (dont know if it is EERC or the College of Mines) is testing technology that would generate $100,000 worth / yr / well of electricity from the hot boiling salty water that comes up with the oil. Since most wells in the Bakken are on pads of 8 or 12, that could potentially mean $1 mill additional revenue per year for a pad, and much less need for new power plants. Roughly three new power plants would not be needed in the Bakken if this is proven. Pretty good thinking and savings by UND people. Oil companies will be thankful for the extra cash flow and hopefully trey remember who had the idea.
  16. Funny. Guess that when you make a doofus of yourself trolling, everyone who points out what a douche you are are just narcissitic. This board has really taken a toll on your ego. YOU just proven that you flunked basic psychology .
  17. Getting pounced at NAU. NAU and Idaho St are very good.
  18. Its funny that I seem to be the most hated poster on Bisonville who has stated here, not as a troll there, that leaders such as Chapman, Taylor, and Bresciani were two bit liars and deceivers. (Also put Kelley in that class, but nobody here seems to take offense.) Seems to hit bison fans too close to the belt. Haven't stated much about your players except when there is police or attorney action. But you and numerous other trolls take all offense because there is not anything about morality when it comes to lifting your program. Morality doesn't matter according to bisonville, but don't get caught. Mus be doing something right if that moral cesspool Bi'ville takes offense.
  19. Some Farmers in the old days were roughriders. IIt's not just a western thing.
  20. Just so you are not being hypocritical, are you lobbying the ND legislature to remove any Roughriders ties from the tourism and commerce departments, and rename tthe Roughrider award to a NoDak or a Fighting Hawk name? Didn't think so.
  21. Dah. Bohl dumped his wife that was pregnant with twins for her hotness, and the Huskers ran them both out of town.
  22. Own some swamp land in Florida too?
  23. Depends on their contract. Since this under DOE ARPA funding, would imagine EERC gets a big slice of the patent, but could be wrong. Under the Bayh-Dole Act of 1980, work done under a government contract doesn't necessarily revert to the federal government, but to the research organization. For example, courts just awarded the U of Wisconsin over $200 mill because Apple infringed Wisco's patents which were funded by the government. FuelCell Energy would benefit either way, as demand for their fuel cells would skyrocket. But it could have big repercussions for North Dakota too, as methane to methanol could be proved out here first with a commercial plant.
  24. The EERC may be on to a breakthrough for making methanol from fuel cells: http://www.rigzone.com/news/article.asp?hpf=1&a_id=141182&utm_source=DailyNewsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_term=2015-10-20&utm_content=&utm_campaign=feature_2 Now, methanol is made from methane at very high temperatures with some oxygen added, partially oxidizing the methane. Very capital and energy intensive, so if a fuel cell can make it, potentially the EERC could save industry billions. Other companies have made massive royalties on their patents, so the EERC could gain potentially hundred of milliions on this technology if it proves out. Honeywell has patents for other processes that save billions, and they have used the royalties used to invest into other industries. Methanol is used as a feedstock for a lot of products, including some plastics and gasoline oxygenates, so its a huge market. If this proves out, the EERC wouldnt have any financial issues.
  25. Ariz St announced that it will add women's lax and triathalon as offsetting women's sports for Title IX to compensate for adding men's hockey. W lax will now have six teams to sponsor a PAC12 women's league, which the PAC12 will do. But that leaves only five teams in the MPSF, UC Davis, St Mary's, Denver, Fresno St and San Diego St in that women's lax league. NDSU can take a big step to solving it's Title IX problem by starting W Lax, as there is now a league that may tare them.
