  1. I kind of think this is more of an inditement on the offensive line, but also partly because it's Danny's style - to throw as many looks out there as possible. Our offense has good yards per carry numbers, but our third down % and red zone offense is terrible, and I think that's because our offense routinely gets stuffed when we try to run the ball between the tackles when the defense is expecting it. I think that's why Danny ran the play where Quincy flipped the ball over to Otis on that 3rd down vs ISU, where Otis nearly made an amazing play after breaking the tackle way behind the line of scrimmage. Danny needs a big QB for short yardage situations because the offense can't make any holes. How many times has our offense been stuffed when we try to run up the middle in the red zone or on 3rd or 4th and short? We have a terrible 3rd down conversion percentage because we can't run the ball in short yardage situations. The offense is routinely in short yardage situations on third down, but we can't convert, and it's often when Quincy is in. We would probably be better off just leaving Tommy in and throwing the ball, as he's completing 2/3rds of his passes. With a good O-line, UND converts that 4th down vs NDSU.
  2. This is the type of reception some of you don't give Tommy enough credit for.
  3. I can agree that Tommy can improve the running aspect of his game. I think he is really good and has a higher ceiling than where he currently is, and I think he can learn from this season and run more. Are you in agreement there, or do you think one of the backups is a better option at this point? I just don't think Tommy is getting enough credit for his accuracy, and even though so many of the passes are short yardage throws, I don't think a guy like Quincy can both complete those throws at that high of a completion percentage while taking as few sacks as Tommy. Quincy hasn't shown that he has much ability at all to make the short throws consistently, imo. Is this the TD you're referring to?
  4. Yes, sit our starting QB because he isn't projected to be an NFL draft pick during his Sophmore year.
  5. He threw a perfect ball. NOT HIS FAULT GUYS CANT GET OPEN... Our receivers are never "open" except for blown coverage or short bubble screens. Changing the QB won't fix that.
  6. OK bud.
  7. A lot of the bubble teams also have bad losses and we don't, so at least we have that going for us, but I agree, I think our chances are very slim if we win.
  8. ⁹ Is it Tommy's fault our receivers fumbled right in front of the end zone twice? It's not his fault our receivers can't get open down field.
  9. If we beat sdsu they are squarely on the bubble. Or should be. Also Tommy was solid today. Gutsy... guy stood there and took how many hits today without flinching? The placement on his throws today was perfect. Haters gonna hate anyway though.
  10. Our o line sucks up the middle
  11. The med school to the west of wilki would have been perfect. Kelley was a moron.
  12. ESPN+ is only 7 dollars a month.. no contract and tons of other games? Do you not have internet or something?
  13. one of the midco channels and espn+ as usual.
  14. Not sure, but those will be pretty amazing "off campus" digs for the older football players!

  16. In the last ndus meeting that you posted a link to, when they talk about this, they say the original HPCII square footage was around 117,000 sq feet. The athletics part of memorial village will be 36K, and the new updated size for HPCII will only be 36k (72K total). If you go to the link you posted, they show a floor plan of the memorial village space at the very end of the lease agreement, but it is kind of blurry. They also mentioned that fundraising is going very well, and that is part of the reason phase two is downsized...? Sounded like they want to get started on both at about the same time. They also mentioned the soccer backup field, so that is what the lines must be in the rendering.
  17. I think this is a new rendering
  18. Correct. It's a sperate project, to be completed after memorial village (building on the west side). I kinda think they should consider putting phase two of the high performance center on the north side of the practice field instead of building the hawkway... just use the new building to connect memorial village to the high performance center. This would help to block wind into the practice field and windows could still be installed at some point on the west side of the high performance center if desired. Then use the space between the high performance center and indoor practice facility for additional turf/practice area. I would be perfectly happy with the existing plan though as well!Correct. I would be perfectly happy with the existing plan though as well!
  19. Pretty sure that only includes coaching offices and meeting rooms, so UND will be operating out of three different buildings. "Now that we can sign a development agreement, the soonest we would be looking at any type of construction is the spring and that's contingent on contracts and finances," said Mike Pieper, UND's Associate Vice President for Facilities. The plan for the first floor of the Memorial Village project is to house administrative and coaches offices, as well as meeting rooms.
  20. Locker rooms that aren't in a swimming pool building across the street from the practice facility.
  21. Here’s a look at the base salaries of the current MVFC head coaches: "We mentioned in a tweet that Schweigert’s salary is starting to become more competitive with his peers in the MVFC. For years he was underpaid by FCS standards and most knew that UND had to increase his salary over time, along with increasing the assistant salary pool, which has happened both due to Schweigert taking less money himself and the AD upping the pool amount." Matt Entz (NDSU) – $380,000 Mark Farley (UNI) – $375,000 Brock Spack (ISU) – $357,000 Bob Nielson (USD) – $300,000 John Stiegelmeier (SDSU) – $255,000 Bobby Petrino (MSU) – $250,000 Doug Phillips (YSU) – $250,000 Bubba Schweigert (UND) – $215,000 Curt Mallory (ISU) – $210,000 Jared Elliot (WIU) – $175,000
  22. Until UND actually improves support for the football program or Chaves leaves, which will hopefully be soon, I'm fine with Bubba staying. Look at a promising coach like Paul Sather, who had many of the attributes that you guys are looking for in a new football coach... he isn't necessarily improving the program, and based on the results of the Mayville game, it looks like the team could be even worse than last year and he is in his third year already, so a new coach isn't really guaranteed to give us better results, especially if the program isn't getting the funding that it needs to attract a good one. I also don't want UND to fire Bubbba, hire a new guy who may have some first year struggles, and then get a new AD who will be looking to fire the football coach again so that he can hire his own guy.. Under Bubba, the team seems to be slowly improving, and the good seasons seem to getting better, and the bad season seems to be getting less bad. The trend however, is in the right direction. Yes the offense has made some questionable calls, but Freund is in what, his 3rd year as OC? He's still relatively young and will learn and improve. I just don think I want the current AD hiring a new coach given the lack of support for our program. Look how competetive bubba has this program and compare our football facilites to other top programs in the valley - given the recourses we have, I think he's over performing, to be honest. Until we have legit facilities, I don't think a young PJ Fleck type guy will be able to make it work here. The program needs better support more than anything. For example, did a guy like SDSU's Stiegelmeier suddenly just become a good coach after being mediocre for 10+ years, or is SDSU now a top program because the University decided to fully support the football program? I don't think the guy just randomly became a better coach...
  23. Aren't there literally books charts for game management decisions?
