Reading the article it was pretty telling that even the real UCONN of college hockey (Minnesota) was worried. Truth be told however... I don't see a big movement of adding or subtracting women's hockey teams. Fun to read some of the comments on the Star Trib Facebook page. Yeah, they totally did this for football and hired Title IX lawyers because they have a guilty conscience.....

If that ever happened, I can see the men's hockey program getting endowed in about 10 seconds.

I'm sure everything is done and waiting for a bit more for the blowback of the women's hockey cut to die down to announce. I predict within the next week or two.

correct, I watched him play a couple of times this year and he looked pretty good. He'd be a good fit. Of course watch him have a huge summer and now be a legit mid-major prospect.

If/When/Once the Valpo/Murray MVC invite occurs, is it for 2017-18 or for 18-19?

May I add a few things to this: -Included in step 2, we need someone who has an expect opinion on coming up with trophies. You bring in an outside consultant who uses amazing resources such as Urban Dictionary. -You also need to include an option that you know won't work but is popular, but instead of removing it right away you tease both fan bases until the final cut where you get rid of it. -Of course at the end you will need to replace your key leadership because at some point during the process he/she got forced out.. I mean retired -Oh, did I mention spending as much $$$ as possible in a budget crisis and dragging this out and long as possible...
