  1. Well everyone, I feel the time has come. The time has gone for me to step away from the SiouxSports World for a while. Hard to believe its been 12 years on this board when I came on here to try and get the word spread about a green out against NDSU at the Ralph. I have seen a lot: March Madness, a National Championship, BSC championships, sports get cut, programs get cut, nicknames change and change again, you name it, I almost saw it. So why now? Well.. my life is becoming more and more busy (for good reasons) and its getting harder and harder for me to crank out new threads that meet the level of my expectations. So I would rather step aside and let someone else take the mantel than put out posts that are less than stellar. My two regrets is that I never got a chance to meet any of you in person (well minus Darrell1976, wherever he may be) and I never got a hat from SiouxSports (Sorry Mafia). While I expanded my knowledge across the UND world, my love and heart was in basketball. Which is why I jumped on the chance to be a Reaching the Summit Podcast Writer. I'll still be over there doing my thing. Maybe once things get less busy, I'll make a comeback. If not, let UND return to glory and we all enjoy more conference and national championships. If I make it back to UND games, stop by and say hi. Take care of yourselves and each other.
  2. Give her time, she will be very good for UND.
  3. Sounds like Hurst should be back soon, dealing with a foot
  4. I'm not ready to panic on either team.
  5. We need Hurst back and Oberg to knock off the rust
  6. Pemberton showing off a little of her skills.
  7. See the 2021 Spring game when they tunnel screened USD to death.
  8. Guessing this is how they are trying to compete with MN Schools
  9. Amar at least is sucking up rebounds, already up to 5 of them in 4 minutes.
  10. Iowa is 4-5 from downtown to start the game 16-9 Iowa
  11. No. Listening on radio. The stats I am following is wrong
  12. Actually King is starting, the scoreboard is wrong.
  13. Brooks Eaglestaff Omot Mayar T *No King in starting lineup
  14. Just play this on a loop for the defense
  15. Its Fran. He doesn't need a reason to be mad.
  16. Ferrera Horne looks the part but just needs to get adjusted to D1 life.
  17. I tried looking that up this morning, think there is a way for you to watch a specific team for a month for $10
  18. Its the moment you all have waited for. The season start tomorrow against Iowa! About Iowa: When you mentioned about Iowa Basketball: two things come to mind. The first being the absolute machine that it Caitln Clark on the women's side of things. The second being the antics of one Fran McCaffery. Outside of that, Iowa has been a solid Big 10 program in the past, flirting with contention a couple of times but has been a solid tier 2 team. Consistenly getting into the NCAA tournament, where they typically get bounced in the first weekend. Last year was no expection despire the talent of Kris Murray and our old pal Filip Rebraca (sigh....) giving Iowa a 1-2 punch that lead them to a 19-13 record and 11 wins in the Big 10. Sadly, they ran into Auburn in Round 1 and send them home with another early exit. Now with Murray and Rebraca gone, it appears to be a bit of a transition year for Iowa and perhaps the expectations of making the NCAAs would be a success this year, but at some point... Iowa needs to go deep. If they are going to do it, they will do it with tempo and an offense that has been highly efficient in the past. About Iowa Coach Fran McCaffery (512-353 overall, 216-176 at Iowa). There are two schools of thought about Fran. If you are an Iowa fan, you love him for making their basketball program at least somewhat relevant in the Big 10. If you are NOT an Iowa fan, he is annoying... very, very annoying. The one thing has aluding him is a deep NCAA run. We shall see if he can do it this year with a team that lost a lot. Key Player: Tony Perkins (6'4 Senior) (Averaged 12.3 ppg, 4.1 rpg, and 2.8 apg last year). With the losses of Murray and Rebraca, someone needs to step up and fill the void offensively. Well Perkins appears to be the best option to fill some of that. He was the 3rd leading scorer from last year and has steadly improved on a year by year basis. Now can he handle the responsibilities of being one of the main cogs this year? We shall see. Keys: 1) Can UND avoid empty possessions on offense? 2) Can UND find ways to slow Iowa down? 3) Where will UND find their shooting? The Call: Iowa is a stiff test right out the gate for UND, based on their ability to be efficient with the basketball offensively. With that said... this isn't the same Iowa team of years past and they could be very vulernable early in the year. Heck, they even lost to Eastern Illinois last year! For UND to do it, they need their stars to play like it, but they will need a few players to step up and play big. The line is Iowa at 19.5.. I think UND puts up a good showing but the Hawkeyes will be a bit too much Iowa 85-74 Game is on BTN+
  19. Anthony Edwards is finally the superstar that Minnesota needed since KG. He is IT.
