  1. Yes, he does. Yes, he does. I wasn't aware the NAACP had entered the Sioux nickname situation on the side of the save the nickname crowd. Apparently you're new here, as diplomacy has been the attempt for the last 7 years and the NCAA hasn't changed their policy to allow UND to keep the name. He really does....
  2. I agree, even though he is a fan of moo U
  3. Ah, yours was more heavily masked.... didn't catch it.
  4. I believe it was sarcasm.....
  5. Since the Fighting Sioux won't be playing this weekend, who will you cheer for?? Oh wait, you can still cheer for them without the name.....
  6. The black jerseys haven't held much magic for UND this season though....
  7. Hence, SL should've focused on its lawsuit against the NC$$, rather than get sidetracked trying to hurt UND.
  8. Here's the GPL (maroon and yellow glasses) version of events...
  9. They didn't even bother taking the time to check the spelling and grammar of their filing. I don't think the lawsuit has a chance. I wish I was wrong, but I can't simply put my head in the sand and say SL will win in their lawsuit. At most, SL comes away with some settlement $$, which is probably what this is all about for them anyways.
  10. Apparently I struck a nerve and that wasn't my intent. All the things you say need to be done can be done without hurting UND. At this point UND doesn't have any more ammo; they are handcuffed by the settlement agreement and King Al's idiotic law. Leave UND out of it, pursue the SL lawsuit against the NC$$, and get the NC$$'s hipocrisy into the media. Legally, the NC$$ has all the power (so the lawsuit probably won't work). To get them to change, there must be public (Native American) outcry in the media (against the NCAA, not the SBHE and UND). I agree that getting Senator stache and Representive Ricky Rich involved couldn't hurt. This can be done without harming UND.
  11. If you think the average person knows better than UND, the SBHE, and the legislature..... I ask you to take one look at DaveK, luapsided, 10898 (or whatever it is), yababy, and Fetch's posts on this board. Although they are the vocal minority on this site, they are not the minority in the state. They spew lies (which they completely believe) at every turn. Also, since you missed it last time: "So based on your post about the SL lawsuit, it would appear you don't think the NC$$ policy will be changing any time soon. Do you believe the sanctions won't hurt UND, or do you not care about UND?? "
  12. Apparently you've never met a farmer from the red river valley (Grand Forks and Walsh counties in particular). There aren't too many ranches in the red river valley, so I don't know many of them. The only rancher I know was a guy from the Dickinson area I went to UND with. In my experience, UND and tech college (Northland) people own the farms, but maybe that's only in Grand Forks and Walsh counties. From what I've heard, NDSU people are taught to own the businesses which interact with the farmers (buying and selling chemicals, seed, fertilizer, etc.). Both positions are important and both positions can make a lot of money, so don't take it as a slight.
  13. Every comment made just proves my point.
  14. Inreasing stated enrollment every year should not be the goal of any University (See Dickinson State). A larger enrollment has limited bearing on academic quality. Also, giving waivers to everyone not from North Dakota or Minnesota (see NDSU) is no way to improve the financial state of the institution. UND has one of the highest rated online programs in the country. It sits behind the University of Wisconsin and Iowa State University. Seems like decent company
  15. So based on your post about the SL lawsuit, it would appear you don't think the NC$$ policy will be changing any time soon. Do you believe the sanctions won't hurt UND, or do you not care about UND?? I'm focusing my questions on you rather than the other "save the name" posters because you seem to give more thought to your replies.
  16. So the success of the petition process has no effect on the success of the litigation. You're saying it has to be done to prevent something from happening 3 years from now (look who's screaming "what if" now ). So, the obvious question here is, why not wait until then??? Why must UND be punished in the short term on its way out of transition when the athletics department is the most vulnerable? I'm just trying to understand why you people (who say you care about UND) are doing this.
  17. This isn't 3rd grade math.... 2 negatives don't make a positive here.
  18. Occupy Indianapolis sounds pretty crappy. King Al made an attempt at it, but they sent him running with his tail between his legs after a couple hours.
  19. I thought we were pinning our hopes on the success of the SL vs NC$$ lawsuit?? Although I suppose that is equivalent to giving up any legitimate attempt to save the name. Seriously though, take your time and come up with a well thought out answer for this..... What does the success of the petition process have to do with the success of the SL lawsuit??? Why is it necessary for UND athletics to be punished in the short term, in order to save the name in the long term (as you people assume SL will be victorious in their lawsuit)
  20. Many a life lesson to be learned from that show....
  21. Don't get me wrong, MSNBC spouts a lot of "facts" too. Politics is choosing between a douche and a turd sandwich.
  22. Losing eligibility to compete in playoffs if UND keeps the name?? UND loses the ability to host nc$$ playoff games, not to play them (unless we refuse to wear an alternate jersey). Where do these papers get their information from? I'm all for the retirement of the name to save our athletic programs, but that article was a bunch of garbage written by idiots who think people should be protected from themselves because they don't know any better.
  23. Facts are spin..... unless those "facts" come from Fox, SAB, or King Al
  24. That "article" may have had less facts than SAB. It was written by a moo U student so the fact that a majority of the words were spelled correctly is impressive. If only he had the truth of it and the debate was over and the nickname was gone until that magical day when SL wins their lawsuit against the ncaa (a guy can hope right???).
