Not sure what #MeToo has to do with changing division 1 classifications. And the fun thing about our esteemed alum Omar tweeting....it would only help NDSU lol. She isnt exactly a popular figure in the great state of ND. The GOP itself might start sending NDSU money then If the school needed to add a ladies sport, then they would have to figure that out. I'm not counting on them moving up, would love to see it though.

Season ticket sales were up this year. Forum article said they are at 13K now. I dont think there is a waiting list anymore really but... we'll see on the attendance.
-
I am guessing if you are on top of things the day tickets go on sale you should have an opportunity to snag one or two. I know tickets could be a pain to get at Bison games several years ago but even then, if you wanted to get in the door you could.

Sufficient. I too enjoy Indian food.

No review? Anyone wanna do a proof of life check-in with geaux_sioux's family?

By the college. Same location as before.

I dont think it will be too nefarious in FCS football.

The fun thing is the blue bloods got money too. Most of them have a lot of it too. And they are used to winning. Hell I'm very okay with Notre Dame waking the echos by opening some checkbooks. We will see. Should be interesting if nothing else!

I dont think there will be new powerhouses. I'm expecting some sleeping giants to wake up though. SMU and the G5 have fallen too far behind. But USC, Michigan, Texas... hell..Oklahoma State?

It won't.

I'll hit up the one in Fargo for lunch tomorrow. I had a grinder at spicy pie last week that was pretty solid. Haven't had one at Taco Shop in a very long time.

Lol that was a mistake/typo

NDSU has had several years of playoff misfortune. EDIT: SDSU*, not ndsu

They were pretty tough in 2011 as well.

I see the chart also coincides with the Base downsizing substantially. GFAFB in 1990: 9300 2000: 4800 2010: 2300 That's an awful lot of (disproportionately) young people to lose. And some of those guys/gals were sticking around when they got out of the service too (maybe they liked the area or found a spouse). Perhaps GF has just had all around bad luck and some self-inflicted wounds as well.

The point isn't to compare Grand Forks to those communities. The point is Grand Forks offers basically nothing to anyone beyond what they already do. The west had an oil boom. They got to enjoy that. Grand Forks doesn't have that. Fargo has been growing like a pretty consistent weed (adjusted for ND of course) for the last hundred years. Being at a crossroads designated by the US government sure helped. Grand Forks is where it is because they got a relatively major university and an Air Force Base. Look when Grand Forks growth stunted... right around the time they shipped my family out of there and started downsizing the base. This isn't even shitting on GF...if it were up to me they'd have given UND the land grant and we'd all be best of friends. Enjoy the town much more than Fargo. I hope they fix many of the problems this thread is basically devoted to complaining about and identifying. But don't try to make Grand Forks something it's not. Just like Jamestown will never be Grand Forks, Grand Forks is never gonna be Fargo. Each of these "levels" of communities is unique and brings good and bad.

Idk...big growth in Fargo, and oil country or oil adjacent country. Its not like Jamestown, Valley City, and Wahpeton, Devils Lake, and those communities are exactly booming.
-
I think some of it is some statewide effort to have more entertainment Medora and Fargo. But yeah i think it's pretty hokey. Not sure its entirely fair to compare Grand Forks to other areas. The western energy boom is self explanatory like you mentioned. Fargo is just best equipped to grow in the east. Two interstates, an hour closer to civilization. Many more college kids available to be retained. I'm thinking that has started to snowball quite a bit. Not sure how Grand Forks can experience anything similar. Geography will steer people south. Hopefully they can snag some good jobs related to the base and tech or whatever. Big fan of the town up there. If I landed a great job opportunity up there I'd jump at it.

Up is down. Spring is fall. Sdsu is a winner.

The best QB is always the one you haven't seen yet

Yeah I don't quite get the criticism of Stick. He isn't paid to be a franchise QB lol. I get that things went south in a hurry in Philly. But when I think of a bust, he doesn't really fit there. Busts don't get contract extensions...much less over a hundred million dollars lol. -
Quite an accomplished man. UJ/JC has been making some moves the last decade or so. Re-done football stadium is looking good too

I'm on team kneel the ball as well. This ain't the BCS or Selection Committee picking top 4 where style points matter. -
I saw his only start against Notre Dame a couple years ago. He completed about 1/3 of his passes. Had a few good runs. Went back and watched a bit of the game when I heard he was coming to fargo. Hard to get a big takeaway from a freshman first start against a very good ND defense in South Bend. Notre Dame has made plenty of good qbs look bad the past 4 or 5 years. Time will tell if he is any good. He's certainly a good athlete and pretty big.
