  1. How about just sticking with green and white if no new nickname is not an option? That way we are not really being pushed into a new identity, we've always been green and white.
  2. OK, I grew up in ND and went to UND as did my parents and grandparents. UND is in my DNA and I am a lifelong Sioux fan (or green and white, whatever), but I live in Vermillion. Coach Glenn walked by my house Sunday morning with some kids which I presume were his grandchildren. He and his smiling face were the picture of happiness and serenity. They stopped for a few minutes to be friendly and pet my dog. Nice man, I’d have to say. Now as a bit of an aside. Every once in a while I hear snide remarks about Vermillion such as within this thread where it’s been referred to as a dump. Next time you are here you might go canoeing on the Missouri R. National waterway, take in the National Music Museum, or visit the Yankton reservoir on the Missouri River which beats Garrison hands down for scenery. The snow in winter is white unlike the snirt in Grand Forks, and when Arctic cold fronts plunge Grand Forks to 25 below its typically 30 degrees warmer here. FWIW.

    UND at SUU

Even without the lousy stream and play, this game has the atmosphere of an NAIA Div 2 game. Good thing our hockey team is doing well.
  4. I have been unable to google any info on this development. Are you sure this is more than speculation/rumor?

    UND at SUU

I have not yet seen Bartles throw a sideline pass into quadruple coverage for a pick 6 interception. The same cannot be said for Mole.

    UND at SUU

I agree, and this is a good reason to start Bartles, not that that is gonna happen.
  7. I lean towards giving starting Bartles but I am not on the coaching staff and I don't oversee practices. It sounds to me like the coaching staff sees Mollberg as having the greater upside even though Bartles is producing the best result at this point in time. My concern is that Bartles transfers out to somewhere where he can be the starter and it then takes Mollberg's junior and senior year for the staff to realize he never will realize his "upside".
  8. The good news is that the QB position no longer seems to be a liabilty. The "bad news" is that neither has separated himself from the other. Start whomever seems to have the hot hand in practice, and tell him not to be butt-hurt if the other is called on to come in in relief. IMO, Bartles has earned the start, but I too don't think the coaching staff will say there is a clear cut case for changing starters.
  9. Bartles, Seifert, and Garmin played big roles today. Perhaps a re-evaluation of all of our starting offense is in order. BTW, Big Sky TV on my laptop was just fine.
  10. Throw, not through. Arrggg.
  11. If we run the table from here on, which is possible and which would include a win over EWU, then we finish 8-4 overall and 6-2 in the BSC. MSU, UM, and EWU will have to go head to head resulting in some loses. Through in a few upsets and a place at the top of the BSC for UND is possible, most likely as a shared championship. From there who knows, maybe the playoff selection committee will place a lot of weight on winning in the later part of the season. Is all of this likely..no. But it is possible.
  12. I just turned on the first NCHCTV webcast...Wisconsin vs Duluth. I have a five month old laptop and a Samsung galaxy s4 phone. Grainy picture and no volume on both devices. I was expecting a bit more...
  13. Excuse me if this question has been covered, but will games broadcast by CBSsports also been shown on the nchctv webcast? Anyone know?
  14. The name Cougars is insulting to middle aged women.
  15. That is a total spoof.

    SJSU Preview

NDSU a 26 point dog to ISU after beating KSU on the road last year. That site isn't worth a mouse click to log into.
  17. Roughnecks is better.
  18. Its refreshing to see a knowledge-based and objective perspective such as presented by dagies. My Dad, USN WW2 veteran, passed on recently. He served on board a tanker carrying aviation fuel in support of Allied operations in North Africa and Italy. For four years he lived with the reality that at any time he might die in a fireball. As he put it: "those U-boat captains wanted us pretty bad". The worst times were sunrise and sunset, when the Germans liked to position themselves between the sun and their target to conceal their periscopes. That is when the U-boats were the most predatory. This last Memorial Day was the first since Dad died. Anchors Away.

    Green Jerseys

The black pants and green jersey home combo is awful!
  21. USD is coming to town too?
  22. It would perhaps be best not to denigrate the direction south.
  23. This seems to be the essential question. Until it is unambiguously answered there is no way of really knowing how Hak should handle the situation.
  24. Also as a musician, I agree 100%.
  25. We need to have someone on staff who can expand upon one of the successes of Mussman et al which is recruiting Illinois. We have a proximity advantage over all our Big Sky rivals to miwestern population centers like the Chicago metro area and can offer recruits routine trips to exotic destinations like Cal. and the Montana Rockies, something our midwestern (Summitt) competition cannot match.
