  1. By all indications UND grads/former students not currently living in North Dakota such as me will have no say as to whether the Sioux logo/name stays or goes by being ineligible to vote in the June referral. I'm just wondering if anyone would like to speculate as to how many people will vote intentionally to harm UND (say Bison fans), and why? Will these types of voters be a factorin the outcome of the election?
  2. Personally I'd rather see the Badgers come in...more interesting playing a traditional rival...........
  3. I don't post much, just mainly lurk. But its hard for me to imagine that any bluechip HS athlete doesn't have to think twice about going to UND in the current environment. Its only going to get worse the longer this imbroblio persists. To think otherwise is willful ignorance. As a 1977 UND grad that has stayed loyal to his alma mater living in Vermillion and working at USD for fourteen years, put me down for retirement of the name and logo asap. And I'm sorry but the Spirit Lake initiative is years too late to be effective. I suspect what is going to happen is 1. retention of name (already occurring) 2. rejection by the Big Sky 3. retirement of name (permanently), followed by 4. UND joining Summit/Mo Valley. UND teams will be seriously depleted by the time step 4 takes place.
  4. Anyone know if midco sports might be picking up these games?
  5. Not to hijack the thread but on a related question, would a Roku or similar device enable picking up the streaming UND Sports Network (or whatever its called now)?
  6. There will be an unofficial meeting of Big Sky presidents to see if the decision to cut UND is unanimous, if indeed uninimity is required. Then there will be an official meeting where the announcement to drop UND is made, and it will be soon, well before June 6..

    Sioux Falls Week

What we need is wins over UCD and USD, then all the concern over not beating SF by enough points goes away. Then we can say with regard to yesterday's game that a win is a win. Well, at least I'd say that...unlike most of you I feel that way already, but I tend to take games one at a time for the fun of it rather than over-thinking about the long term strategic significance of point differentials.

As far as I'm concerned, good win over a very good fb team, despite a didsappointing first half. At one point in tghe first half I saw a Sioux player on teh sideline yawning...definately a low point.

A comparison of Warren vs Bradley (the only UND qb listed) from this link appears at odds with your comparison. http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfoot2/stat/greatwest-Notebook.htm Have not heard anything about Warren's injury, and I live in SD (not a Coyote fan though).

USD will be a tough one. They are much better at the most important position on the field, the QB, and have a more balanced offense than the Sioux have.
  11. I'll be in Colorado that time frame and plan to attend the game. Wouls also be interested in any tailgating, especially since I'll be by myself. Also, anyone know whether its a good idea to get tickets in advance for a UNC game?
  12. USD (where I work, btw) went on record a few years ago in favor of UND's name change. Maybe UND should have a rotating name. When they play USD they could be the Coyotes. Against Minnesota, the Gophers, and so on. Hey, everybody piled on for the change, but sometimes you should be careful what you wish for.
  13. UND alum living in SD here, first post. How about the Spirit, for a new name? Could be the spirit of the Sioux, or of ND, of UND, or anything you want it to be....
