  1. I want a new identity in place in time for the 2015-16 school year and I absolutely did not want to remove the Fighting Sioux name and logo. Nice try, please play again.
  2. I do think it is hard to quantify something that is as qualitative as college football recruiting. Having said that, there has to be some truth to these rankings or else these websites/blogs/newsletters wouldn't be in business.
  3. Do I need to book a Steel Cage Match between you and MafiaMan? I'll referee it.
  4. The culture is different in Germany. Kids are introduced to alcohol at family meals and are taught to consume it responsibly. In this country, it's treated as a forbidden fruit and thus kids want to drink it because they aren't supposed to.
  5. Then what is your theory on looking like world beaters on Friday night and looking like garbage on Saturday night? It happens way too often to not be tied to something.
  6. And that would be insane. If we do something that, we might as well serve it at lunch in HS. And, for the record, the means I was kidding.
  7. If you gave the states free reign over this, Wisconsin would probably lower their drinking age to 14 or 15.
  8. You, my friend, need to work on your "biting" sarcasm.
  9. And you, JohnboyND7, are the most annoying poster on this forum.
  10. I vote for SiouxVolley.
  11. And Craig "Mr. Clean" Bohl was a spring chicken? It's very insightful that instead of debunking my logic, you chose instead to take a cheap shot at Bubba and how he dresses at practice. The guy has a youthful enthusiasm for coaching football and for UND itself. That will sell the program to recruits. And that is what you are most afraid of.
  12. Don't you understand what #DayByDay means? It means eventually, not immediately. How do you think Roger Thomas managed to build a national contender despite what he started with in 1986? It wasn't by losing every single recruiting battle with NDSU. Eventually, Thomas was able to beat out NDSU for guys like Jim Kleinsasser (unless you want to make the case that NDSU didn't really want him ). #DayByDay, this program will get better. And that haunts you guys in your dreams because you've watched this movie before, right?
  13. This is a very good point. Tim Brewster was the best thing to happen to FU and Craig Bohl. With Jerry Kill in charge of the Rodents, that gravy train will pretty much stop.
  14. Couldn't have said it better myself. I will stand with Bubba every step of the way.
  15. Watch out, LakesBison will rip you for that!
  16. I guess I wasn't talking about Top 25, I was thinking more along the lines of Top 10 or Top 5. I think FU could hang with Alabama for one quarter and maybe part of the second quarter, but then the overwhelming depth and talent level of the Tide would take over.
  17. Alabama and the SEC are a different universe from Iowa State and the Big 12. They would get overpowered in the trenches on both sides of the ball and their QB would get destroyed and possibly injured in the process. FU is smart not seeking games against FBS powers like Alabama and Oregon (and yes South Dakota, that is a reference to you).
  18. Has it ever occurred to you that the reason for all those flat Saturday night performances after a big Friday win might be alcohol-related? Is asking that question making this "more than it really is"? I say no.
  19. I agree with this. Exactly one year ago, I posted the following commentary on the state of UND sports and why many of us were (are) so frustrated at the lack of success from our FB program and a few other areas as well (i.e. ZERO NCAA titles under Hakstol, the struggles of Men's BB). Go back about 15 years and most of our fan base felt the same way when it came to having high expectations for our teams. Today, it has really deteriorated in a lot of quarters. We need to get back to the expectations we used to have in the 1980's and 1990's and stop using the same tired old excuses all the time. End rant.
  20. Wasn't this the rationale some used for keeping Mussman because "he didn't suit up for any of the games"? And yes, I am bringing Mussman up again and no, I don't think it is out of line. He took what once was a nationally-competitive football program and essentially ran it into the ground. This is as bad as we've looked since 1986 and the buck stops with the CEO and nobody else. I do think Bubba will get the job done, but it's going to take a lot of time and patience from us and from the community. And that means getting out and supporting the team win, lose or draw. I'll be there, in the same seats I've had since 2001. How many others will be there?
  21. I have no problem quoting posts using Mozilla Firefox, but it just doesn't work on Internet Explorer.
  22. I think success in 2014 will have to be measured in something other than wins and losses. Work ethic, attitude when behind, attitude when ahead, discipline (or lack thereof), improvement from game 1 to game 2 and game 2 to game 3 and so on; those will be the things I watch for as the season progresses. It will take 2 to 3 recruiting classes to get the horses to win games against someone other than non-scholarship FCS teams and lower-level Big Sky teams as this is the lowest point we have been since 1986, but if Bubba and his staff can instill good work habits and discipline now, it will become ingrained in the culture of the program (like it was under Thomas and Lennon) and we'll be in the Big Sky Conference and FCS playoff mix in no fewer than 5 years. And yes, 6-6 is a little wishful, but you need to set goals and that is a reachable (though difficult) goal for this team. It would go a long way to getting potential recruits to seriously consider UND in the future.
  23. What do you have against innovation?
  24. I don't think it matters who the QB is. We have no line and we can't run the ball. Joe Montana would look bad under those circumstances.
  25. If Hextall and Prpich can be discussed with a straight face, then yes, Duncan deserves to be talked about as well.
