  1. Oh for Pete's Sake, conduct a national search. Advertise everywhere. Cast a wide net. Narrow it down to five candidates. Pick the best person you can. It isn't that freaking complicated. The only question is, do Faison and Kelley have the gonads to do this? Or are they just going to stick their heads in the sand? The Pioneer Football League is looking pretty good right now.
  2. Ladies and Gentlemen, we are now officially the Morningside of the Big Sky Conference. Of course, that won't stop the Mussman apologists from using every excuse in the book to save his sorry butt: "Transition, Transition, Transition, Nickname, Nickname, Transition (again), "We don't have the players, so it isn't the coaching staff's fault", "Mussman should get all the time he wants", "Don't compare us to NDSU because that is irrelevant", "Everything is fine the way it is", "These are college athletes, so it doesn't matter if the team is a train wreck or not", "blah, blah, blah, blah, blah". I want someone in the ducky and bunny camp to come on here RIGHT NOW and explain to all of us why this coaching staff should get all the time they need to make the program better. And you cannot use any of the idiotic excuses I listed above. End rant. Enjoy the Green Kool-Aid before it gets warm in your glasses.

  5. Okay, gotcha. Thanks for clarifying. I shouldn't post after taking a Saturday afternoon nap!
  6. Would this have anything to do with all the drama at Texas A&M surrounding their spoiled-rotten sophomore QB? Is that why they wouldn't do their show from the site of what is arguably the game of the week in FBS (Alabama at Texas A&M)? Just a theory.
  7. Relax. The NCHC had to start someplace. As the league gets established (and it won't take long), it will have more leverage in the future to negotiate a better deal. Give it time, it will work out in the long run.
  8. Well, I surpassed 3500 posts a couple of days ago.
  9. You must have voted for Ross Perot in 1992!
  10. I agree with you, but some people don't like any critical comments about any aspect of our teams.
  11. This is what I am concerned about. What if a large number of people do this? We need to figure out how to increase exposure and generate enough revenues to pay our Division I bar tab.
  12. Another big game for UND football on Saturday!!! Go Sioux, beat Montana!!!

  13. I agree with you. But some people will insist that exposure isn't as important as you and I think it is.
  14. I wasn't referring to Gopher fans; most of them hate the BTHC. I was referring to the people that think the BTHC is going to dominate college hockey just because of BTN. That depends on the quality of product being put on the ice. Will this conference be solid top to bottom? Or will there be two or three good teams and three or four bad teams?
  15. Hello #1 overall draft pick. Hello a real franchise quarterback.
  16. Yeah and I think they overachieved a little last season. They also are transitioning from older guys to younger guys on defense, which always involves some growing pains. I would not be surprised if they took a step back this season. But, like the Lions this year, they will bounce back next year. As for the QB situation, I think it might be time to start looking for another prospect to groom for the job. I am beginning to think Ponder isn't up for it.
  17. But listening to some people brag up BTN, you would think they don't need ESPN for "marketing". But that isn't the case, is it? And yes, I am anti-BTHC. The BTHC is most responsible for the cannibalizing of the WCHA and what was once the best conference tournament in the country.
  18. As are we! We've been waiting a long time to have quality programs like yours come into our house. You making the trip or watching at home?
  19. Why are they giving ESPN their money? I thought the freaking BTN was the end all and be all of sports networks? I thought the freaking BTN was going to rule the world? Guess not.
  20. Not if he wears another team's colors. Nothing personal against the kid, but I am a fan of (the team formerly known as) the Fighting Sioux and that is it. That means the fewer yards a player like Zenner gets, the better. Although I do respect any football player who can balance football and pre-med academics. I was never that ambitious as a student. As for the Gophers missing out on him, some kids are late bloomers and slip through the cracks. That is probably how Digger Anderson ended up in Grand Forks.
  21. The 1994 Potato Bowl. A hot, sunny day. We turned it over 5 times and still almost pulled off the win. Bouman scored on the final play of the game as the clock ran out. You could have heard a pin drop in that place.
  22. I am looking forward to the day when we talk about our players being great instead of everybody freaking else. And that goes double for you, "Milquetoast" Mike Berg. There was a time when our D made embarrassing other team's "stars" a regular occurrence. I can't wait until we get back to that.
  23. Cassel led the Patriots to a good season after Brady went down in Game 1 in 2008. That is more than Ponder has ever accomplished.
  24. Thanks for reminding us that it could, indeed, be worse.
