  1. That's funny......that's what people said about Blais when he was hired back in 1994. Whoops, I am not supposed to talk about him on here anymore! Sorry about that.
  2. I have tried in vain to make these points on this forum over and over again and keep getting told that I don't know what I am talking about or that I don't make any sense or that I am "spoiled" or that I am not a "real fan" (this last one I will simply not stand for). But if people are satisfied with what we have now, to each their own. I will continue calling out bad playing and coaching whenever it needs to be called out. Period. End of story. Now, back to eating our own.
  3. http://siouxfb.areavoices.com/2013/11/21/profiling-potential-candidates/ I like the names on this list. And I am not married to the idea of having to have FCS or FBS experience. Every coach (head or assistant) started somewhere, often times in lower division programs. If somebody can turn around a D-II or III program with limited resources and, on top of that, win championships, it is an indication that they are good at being the CEO of a football team (which is what the head coach essentially is). Being a coordinator or position coach is a totally different job and those skills don't always translate to head coaching (we just got a crash course in that with Mussman). Whatever Faison decides, I have confidence that he will do what is right for our FB program and the institution as a whole.
  4. I am not saying Owens should be canned; I think he he's done a good job at a small, private school with fewer resources than UND, UM, UW, etc. But I talked to a sportswriter from the Colorado Springs Gazette in my hotel at last year's Final Five and he says there are some fans grumbling that the Tigers don't have enough postseason success. I imagine if enough big-shot alums complain enough, someone in the administration might get it in their head that a change needs to be made. My point is that contract extensions don't provide the protection they once might have.
  5. Why would they? NDSU is a big-time program at everything they do! They are no mid-major and if you think they are, Bison Dan, Johnboy and all the other FU trolls on here will set you straight!
  6. Which is one of the reasons we will have a different coaching staff next year.
  7. Thank God you are not holding Faison's job right now. I imagine Mussman would have received a lengthy contract extension.
  8. Maybe if you provided more actual information in your posts, people would take them seriously. Just tell us what you know.
  9. It's not my fault your hockey programs are seeped in arrogance and conceit. I was just pointing it out.
  10. It's another mindless post by gfhockey; there is no "relevance".
  11. Sadly, they are one and the same: http://kfgo.com/news/articles/2013/nov/19/body-found-along-railroad-tracks-in-fargo/
  12. As expected, the Star-Tribune put their pro-Gopher slant on the loss, making it sound like a "win". http://www.startribune.com/sports/gophers/232274441.html The streak is over......we lost the game......but we are the "real winners". Yeah, okay, whatever. The next streak that really needs to end is the NCAA title streak. And it can't happen soon enough for me. Time to serve up a well-earned and well-deserved hunk of humble pie. And if this post qualifies as "ripping" a "student-athlete", then so be it. No more Mr. Nice Guy.
  13. Yes, because you are being a Grade A Certified Toolbox! Either contribute something useful to the discussion or shut up!
  14. Lock it down. Time to focus on the future.
  15. This will be Faison's second really important task as Athletic Director so far (the first was getting us into the Big Sky Conference). I like that a national search will begin immediately; that is what I was hoping for.
  16. I definitely understand your frustrations with the FB program; I have been very vocal about the need for a change.
  17. I share your viewpoint, a change was needed. However, don't forget that this will be hard on the families of the coaches that are losing their jobs. Let us also wish them well in their future endeavors. I certainly hope they land on their feet.
  18. Yes.....a good first move. Now the real work begins; finding the right person to move the program forward. We must get it right the first time.
