I can live with Fighting Hawks, even if it isn't my first choice. My two no-no's were Sundogs and Nodaks.

North Dakota vs. Minnesota Morris

I believe it is a make or break year for Jones. -
I cannot dispute this point.

I am not in favor of mandatory voting at all, but people who choose not to vote shouldn't be complaining about results they do not like. That will happen here, I can almost guarantee it.

For The Love of God, Not Fighting Hawks

When have I called anybody names? Please find an example and I'll apologize right here, right now. -
I hope Bush wins and gets a huge settlement out of this. Having to worry about slipping on concrete that should be covered up in the first place is not "part of the game" and shouldn't be allowed to happen anywhere. The NFL generates over $10 billion of revenue each year, so I don't want to hear "it's not feasible" or "we can't afford it". Fix it now and fix it permanently or this will happen again and again.
-
Well, it beat your choice, Nodaks, not once, but twice. And the margin was even bigger this time.
-
No, that is not what I am saying. I didn't say that. He did and now you are. I just get tired of people who abstain from voting and them complain about the results. People who can vote and choose not to are part of the problem, not the solution. It would be nice if all eligible voters would vote all the time, but I know that won't happen. I would be thrilled for 50% turnout for this final round of voting.
-
I hear what you are saying, but we have to make the best of a bad situation and that is what I am going to do.
-
Did I say that? No.....you did. The more people that vote, the more legitimate the process will be. And the easier it will be for the public to accept the results. I could live with either of the finalists, btw.
-
I am finished arguing with him.
-
Well said. I agree 100%. Please, if you are an eligible voter, exercise your right to vote. Those who don't participate in the process thereby give up their right to complain about the results of the process.
-
Right back at you, junior.
-
But remember, some people care ONLY about Men's Hockey and that's it.
-
But you are NOT entitled to universal acceptance and agreement with your opinion.
-
I am with you on your last sentence, but I find your first sentence disturbing and abhorrent. You would be targeting the establishment figures that screwed this whole thing up, but would be hurting the students and student-athletes instead. It's like Kirk said to Khan in Star Trek II.
-
It ain't over yet, my friend.
-
This is the main reason for Nodak voters to hold their noses and vote Roughriders; to prevent the consultant's choice from winning.
-
No one has said you aren't important, vote however you wish. But to reject the only nickname left on the ballot that even comes close to meeting the original criteria over this GFRR crap is just short-sighted. Like I have said before, judge each name on its own individual merits. Fighting Hawks is unoriginal and is used by dozens of schools in various forms. Roughriders is used by ZERO NCAA schools right now and has some ties to the State of North Dakota. It is a solid choice for the Flagship Institution of the North Dakota University System. We don't play GFRR, so who the heck cares if "they picked it first"? This is about the future of UND and about the future generations that will walk on that campus. That is way more important than not "copying a local high school".
-
Don't even get me started on that prick. He cost the Vikes the Super Bowl in 2010 with his bounty on Favre's head.
-
-
Okay, is it time for another Roughriders ad in the Dakota Student? Any takers?
-
I think he was. You simply cannot hit a QB when he slides feet first. I think a big fine is coming for that hit.
-
I am more worried about Bridgewater following that cheap shot that knocked him out of the game. I think there will be a fine coming down for that.
-
That reminds me of Kupchella's idea for the student section: "Sit down and be quiet."
