Nobody is "letting others off the hook" for anything. But the fact is Rudolph has not been utilizing the talent he has at his disposal. And people are just sick and tired of it.

Unless the QB is calling his own plays (I assume he is not), the buck stops with Rudolph when it comes to play-calling and subsequent lack of results. The reverse play vs. Richmond was the wrong call at the wrong time and that is on Rudolph. Not on "lack of execution".

I mean someone from the highest levels of the game (head coach, general manager) who has real influence on how things work (or don't work). Never say never about anything. We need to guard against shootouts having any place in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Will you say the same thing when someone proposes using the shootout in playoff games? It will happen, count on it.

I guess if you can't beat the mid-majors in the NCAA tournament, rig the system against them. Why don't they just create an "FCS" for basketball and be done with it? SMH

This is the precise reason people shouldn't gather like they did and gawk at the situation. Wild animals are capable of anything, especially if they feel cornered.

My point is that the city does not know how to deal with situations like this. They were making it up as they go along. Either tranquilize the bear or shoot it dead. Have the necessary equipment and supplies on hand so we can deal with it properly next time. It should never have dragged on as long as it did. And people should give the authorities a wide berth to deal with things like this. Generally, bears don't want anything to do with humans, but they can and will lash out if they feel cornered or threatened.

Perhaps we should just shoot every bear or deer or whatever that wanders inside city limits? We need to learn how to deal with these things because it can and will happen again.

Cripes, just switch to a 10 minute overtime, axe the stupid shootout and I think things would work just fine.

The end game is clear. At some point in the future, the Grand Forks Herald will be shut down and dissolved. Current Heraldo subscribers will be offered a Fargo Forum subscription, probably a six month "free trial" period to suck people in. UND sports coverage will drop to almost zero and everyone will be subjected to Bison, Bison, Bison 24/7/365. People will soon forget UND has an athletic department. I can tell you this right now: I will never, ever, subscribe to the Fargo Forum. I don't care how many free months they offer. But I suppose all the newly minted Bison fans in Grand Forks will be okay with it.

Just look up the calories on the internet and you will think twice about putting those in your body. I have totally given up fast food for that very reason.

This bait and switch crap is unacceptable. They promise these kids that they'll pay for their college education if they choose them over the NCAA and when it is time to make good on it, the kids are told "Well, it just doesn't work that way here". This is the best argument for the NCAA over CHL.

I was being sarcastic; thus the roll-eyes emoticon at the end of it. I posted that because some time ago, people were talking about Pat Sweeney taking over for Dan Hammer when Hammer left MidcoSN, and a few posters said Sweeney wouldn't work because "he isn't good enough at sales". I was mocking that perspective.

According to some people on here, all that matters is if he is good at sales. So I suppose they could just pull someone out of the sales department, put him in front of the mic and tell him he doesn't have to know anything about hockey because the color guy will take care of that for him (sarcasm).

You can say the same thing about WBB and FB. But the hockey-only crowd will accuse you of "trashing our #1 sport". (sarcasm)
