  1. Good suggestions. I agree 100% with all of them.
  2. Because Denver is the darling of the league. Didn't you get the memo?
  3. He writes it to get clicks, because that is what sells advertising. But shutting Lakesbison's mouth is a definite bonus!
  4. I know, I just had to state the obvious!
  5. Let's just win the Frozen Faceoff and make the PWR irrelevant.
  6. Then why Denver? The Goofs weren't interested in him?
  7. I hope your Team Canada jersey came in time for the Winter Games. Too bad they lost to the Spoiled Entitled Whiners. (extreme sarcasm)
  8. But then they would be skewered on this forum for "spending other people's money". They can't win.
  9. It will take a series sweep this weekend and at least one win at the X to keep the NCAA streak intact. The only sure way to accomplish this is to win the Frozen Faceoff.
  10. Women's Hockey was losing an incredible amount of money. Way more than FB, WBB, MBB or MIH. If the deficit would have been much smaller, we wouldn't have abolished it. But it just wasn't sustainable, which was a tough deal for everyone involved. I will say that some people on this forum have enjoyed the demise of UND Women's Hockey just a little too much. Call it necessary, call it a good move, but don't celebrate it. It is nothing to celebrate.
  11. They earned those World Championships. They earned those Olympic Medals. So please don't make it sound like those things were handed to them on a silver platter. Did the ice time at REA help them achieve those things? Absolutely. But the Lammy twins are fighting a much bigger battle than getting ice time. They are fighting for future generations of female hockey players, who may not have the same opportunities they have had if they don't speak out. And they have been very grateful for the support they have gotten from everybody in this area; so please do not imply that they are ungrateful and spoiled. Everyone who knows them and/or has worked with them will tell you otherwise. I supported eliminating WIH because of the staggering amount of red ink it took to keep it going. But I also support the Lammy twins for promoting and advocating for access to hockey for girls and women. That is what will make women's hockey more competitive, popular and yes, affordable, in the long-run.
  12. Don't forget that Spring Break is next week. A lot of students won't be here.
  13. Nobody knows if recruits will pan out until they get to campus and start playing. But if you think it is okay that Denver is landing a large number of highly-touted recruits at (partially) our expense, then we will have to agree to disagree. I really hope I am wrong, but on the surface, it does not look good based on what I have been reading on this forum.
  14. When DU keeps getting recruit after recruit, it is a problem. I never said "recruit them all". They are in our conference and losing recruiting battles to them will have real consequences.
  15. Perhaps. But all I see on this thread and on others is DU, DU, DU. I do not want to play second-fiddle to Denver for years to come.
  16. This is becoming a tired refrain.
  17. I went into the vast archives of UND Men's Hockey and found these stats: 1995-96 WCHA Playoffs First Round @ Old REA Friday, March 1st, 1996: Wisconsin L 5-6 OT Saturday, March 2nd, 1996: Wisconsin L 4-5 2OT The Friday game was decided at the very end of overtime with Kvalevog letting in a dump-in from the blue line. Saturday's game went to double overtime. That was a painful end to the season.
  18. Same here. The Toby Kvalevog Charmin-soft goal to end the game on Friday night was especially painful. Of course, we both know what happened the following season!
  19. He's no worse than Steve "Ole" Olson on the radio.
  20. The last time UND has lost a first-round playoff series at home was 1996 (2-0 to Wisconsin). I certainly want to keep that streak alive. Before 2002, the last time UND was on the road for the first round was 1995 (2-0 sweep of St. Cloud). Pretty amazing level of consistency.
  21. When has our PP been anything other than a "turd sandwich"? This has been a general gripe on this forum for years (title team or not).
  22. #hotgoalie? Simple question.
