It does seem like kids commit much earlier than they used to. A lot of the players on the team now committed when Hakstol was still here. Having said that, I think we better fix whatever is broken and soon.

I am with you on the PK, but our PP has sucked for a long time now (three coaching regimes worth of suckiness). That isn't a new problem.

If Hak were still running this program, 2016 would have ended much differently than it did. Hak could definitely recruit, no question about it; the team just underachieved when it counted most. The question here is recruiting and whether it is working properly or not. I am feeling unsettled about it after this weekend's "performance".

Berry took over a loaded team and got us over that Frozen Four hump that some years seemed like Mt. Everest. The next couple of years will tell us if the recruiting will pick up or not.

I just don't want to give up on them. But it is starting to look like they are done.

The comeback was nice, but this team still has a long ways to go.

Thome is ready to step in at goal. The other players you mentioned haven't exactly set the world on fire this year. Still don't get the whole "step back" theory.

Why "a step back"? You think we are going to lose a bunch of players early? I don't see it.

Well, they should expand on the expansion.

Expansion to Fargo is a great idea. It works for Happy Harry's and it works for Rhombus.

Maybe there are going to convert it into two separate spaces and rent one of them out to someone else.

They are probably looking to position themselves in the fast-growing south end of Grand Forks. Both their current locations are on the north end.

What will become of the Wild Hog marathon? Will it become the Red Pepper Marathon?

I think this team needs more experience playing together and that might extend into next season. With very few early flight risks, we should have almost everyone back next year plus incoming freshmen (some of whom look pretty good). I don't think this is the year we hang #9, but I think next year could be.
