If USD scores here, it is all over.
-
Not much left to lose right now.
-
I haven't heard that being discussed for several years now. And I don't want to talk about it again. UND forces FG attempt by USD. FG No Good. Time to get some points on the board before the half.
-
Now let's not bring that old argument up again.
-
Iowa got burned on that against N. Texas today. The Hawkeyes did eventually score on the drive.
-
Now let's not jump off the bandwagon yet.
-
North Texas and Iowa are on ESPN2.

The two keys to the game right here. Contain Streveler and have a diverse offense. Do both of those and we win. Do one of them and it's a toss-up. Do neither of them and it will be a long day in the DakotaDome.

Isn't his contract up soon? Next year? He can't have too many years left on it.
-
Assuming they don't do a salary dump when it comes time to give them contract extensions.

Molitor has to be a candidate for Manager of the Year. From the worst record in the majors in 2016 to a playoff contender in 2017. That is pretty good.
-
That was our only loss that season. It was in overtime. After that, Omaha went down the tubes and we.......well, we know what happened to us!

What Cleveland is doing is off the charts.

That is bold my friend. But I like it.

What? Don't you understand? If a Minnesota kid commits to UND, that means the Gophers "didn't really want him anyway". Didn't you get the memo? (sarcasm)

My problem is that some people are talking like we lost on Saturday. Get a grip people. I am sure Bubba and his staff are working on the mistakes this week.
-
What? Their "dangerous" return man did nothing all day; we contained him very well. If you are talking about the missed FG and the fumbled punt return, then you are correct. But that ignores all the good things we did on Saturday. We won 34-0, let's enjoy it a little.

I think the defense did a great job against one of the best offenses in the NFL. Didn't allow a TD until garbage time. Was all over Brees, didn't let him sit back and throw it all over the field.
-
Actually, I think Mussman was very creative as offensive coordinator. As head coach, however, he was just offensive. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Me thinks there will be a coaching change at Bowling Green at the end of the season.....maybe sooner. That program is garbage right now. If we had this year's team last year, we would have beaten them as well.
-
I agree. It has to happen from now on. The run game works better when you don't have 8 or 9 in the box every single down.

Well, we had that 50/50 split yesterday and it worked pretty well. And we will need it even more against better teams if we are going to repeat as Big Sky champions. If the run game isn't working in a particular game, you don't just stick with it for the sake of sticking with it. We have talent on that side of the ball now and we need to fully utilize it if we want to take that next step as a program. Championship-level programs generally have multifaceted offenses which cannot be stopped by putting 8 or 9 in the box the entire game and daring you to throw it on them. This team has had that problem ever since Bubba and company took over. This year, that is poised to change. I liked the game Rudolph called yesterday and we'll need that even more next week at USD.

He called some pass plays on first and second down; he didn't do that last year. He has some talent to work with now. When he first got here, there was nothing.

I thought he utilized it pretty well yesterday. The run-pass yardage was pretty balanced.

Next week will be an important measuring stick for this team. It will be on Midco Sports Network, so most of us will be able to watch it. If we can perform in that environment, we'll be the odds on favorite to win the Big Sky Conference again and probably get a top 8 seed in the FCS playoffs. A 2-1 non-conference record will put us in good position to get a playoff spot. A 1-2 record puts us behind the eight ball before the conference schedule even starts. A win next week is huge for our season. Early Prediction: UND 28 USD 21
