  1. The fact we were still in contention at the end is positive.
  2. The problems at the Heraldo are a result of being owned by an Imperial Cass County based media company that thinks there is no life north of Harwood.
  3. I wonder if he'll pull the goalie with 5:00 minutes left in the third period down by 2?
  4. What were you suspended for? Bad content? Or bad spelling?
  5. Ice time is an issue all over, I believe.
  6. There could be talks behind the scenes to add another school to make it an even number. Psst: This school may or may not be located in the Twin Cities metro area and has recently moved up to Division I.
  7. I think winning the Penrose Cup as NCHC regular-season champion is worthy of some kind of reward.
  8. I get that times change and people change with them, but it is disheartening that young people don't care about going to sporting events like they used to. In high school, the annual Red River-Central games were held in the Old REA and it was a big deal to a lot of us. The State Tournament was in the Old REA and it was three days of fun for us. Today, it's all about those ubiquitous smart phones and watching games at home or at Buffalo Wild Wings on flat screen televisions. And high school hockey had top-notch young talent, the best of whom went on to play college hockey somewhere (sometimes at UND). But those parasitic traveling teams (screw you Little Caesars for helping start that trend) are sucking a lot of talent out of the high schools. Same with junior hockey. Back in the 1990's, it was huge news when a high school player opted to play junior hockey their senior year. Now nobody even mentions it. I still follow high school hockey here and in the media at-large, but it just isn't what it used to be. Yeah, I know my age is talking here.
  9. I am really optimistic about a big bounce back year in 2023-24.
  10. I will never be "converted" to the heretical "religion" of NDSU athletics. I was raised to be loyal to my teams, win or lose. It is nauseating to see how shallow some so-called "fans" are.
  11. Honestly, all our programs need to embrace NIL.
  12. His smaller size and lower draft stock make it more likely he'll stick around longer.
  13. Don't bother trying to reason with @jdub27. His solution is always to send emails, even if all most people get in response is some milktoast, boilerplate crap that doesn't actually answer any questions. But to be fair, it's not just him. This is the complacency that seems to have taken hold amongst too many of our supporters. And that is a form of inertia that is very hard to overcome. After 15 years of using a Division II funding model to fund a Division I athletic department, it is way past time to try something different.
  14. We had a strong student section in the Alerus Center from 2001-2005. Which is also when we were national contenders. Funny how that correlates.
  15. Excellent analogy.
  16. Amen. You are one of few people on this forum that is willing to say truthful, but unpopular things. People need to stop drinking the Kelly Green and White Kool-Aid and take a hard look at the problems facing our beloved institution.
  17. I would argue it never has been a priority. It has succeeded in spite of the higher ups at UND, not because of them. However, Division I (FCS or FBS) is a different animal. We cannot win at this level with a shoestring, "more with less" budget.
  18. He is winning me over, slowly but surely.
  19. I am all in on St. Thomas. Regardless of what moves the NCHC makes, the number of schools should never go above 10. The old WCHA got bloated and watered-down with 12 teams at the time of realignment.
  20. I think this is a case of once is enough.
  21. It's not.
  22. He got off a sinking ship before he was dragged under.
