So you think FCS isn't horribly watered down? It is. And pretending it isn't doesn't make it true.
-
So we went through the time and expense of moving up from Division 2 to Division 1 to have an "above average FCS program" in a division that is heavily watered down with really weak programs? You basically just said "Nattys don't matter". I don't tolerate that B.S. in the hockey threads and I don't tolerate it here, either. The FB boosters pushed hard for this Division I move 15 years ago. I don't think they did it to be "an above average FCS program". This entire athletic department is being run like a high school and I am sick and tired of it. Anyone who thinks this is how it should be done, please make your case.
-
We've been "building up under him" for 10+ years now. How many more years do you think he should get?
-
There is nothing "sol-id" about this program right now. Nothing.
-
Nope. Just a cog in a failed system.

As @jdub27 says, it does no good to complain on a message board (even though that is one of the purposes of having one, but I digress). So, here are both President Armacost's and Athletic Director Chaves' e-mail addresses. They are both ultimately responsible for what happens with athletics at UND, so the buck stops with them on things like this. andrew.armacost@und.edu william.chaves@und.edu Please be respectful and courteous in your comments. I know this is an emotional topic for those of us who care about UND athletics, but nasty comments will be (and should be) ignored. I will be sending e-mails to each. I will post them on here after they have been sent.

My last comment on this topic: If he's so great, then why don't teams hang onto him despite being a Grade A Prick? There has to be some concrete reasons why he bounces around the league so much.
-
He wears out his welcome after a few years in one city. There is a reason he doesn't last long in one place. He's a Grade A Certified prick.
-
That's the last straw: Bill Chaves needs to go. NOW! Anyone who wants to defend this contract extension, please give us your reasons. Don't complain about my dissatisfaction.

What has he won besides the 2004 Cup? And that title was won before the lock out, after which a lot of rules were changed to open up the game. Torts is a relic from a different era.

Today, physicality gets you in the penalty box.
-
"Torts" is a hot-headed prick.

Haks teams started slow in the first half, spent the second half catching up, then ran out of gas in the Frozen Four. Catch-22 right? The 2016 team had Hakstol's recruits, but was led by Berry from start to finish. He hasn't forgotten how to coach. I am choosing to remain optimistic until they are officially eliminated.
-
You and @scpa0305 have basically written this team off as "not that good". I am not there yet. Let's see what happens this weekend. If they come out like they did in Omaha, then I'll probably lean more towards you and @scpa0305. FWIW, the 2016 team looked horrible at the Frozen Faceoff and we all know what happened after that.

You mean they won't lose the offensive zone on a 2 man advantage because the puck went under someone's skate again? -

Then let's just win the Frozen Faceoff. It's one of the boxes they want to check. -

I would guess 3 to 4 NCHC teams get in, with 5 possible. We could get up to 6 if everything fell into place, but that is highly unlikely. -
Easier to just win the game Friday.

@brianvf seems to disagree with you. -
Sorry to hear your kid is sick. Hate it when the little ones aren't feeling good. I think UND should just win the Frozen Faceoff to leave no doubt regarding the #1 seed.

Why the heck would UND get shipped east if they are a #1 seed? Which is probably what will happen if we beat Omaha on Friday. Omaha's fan base is not even close to the size of UND's, so shipping us out east would hurt attendance in Sioux Falls. Since the NC$$ loves $$$$$, the only reason I can think of is to make it harder for us to get to St. Paul (again). Just a thought. -

Denver and North Dakota do not need to win the NCHC tournament. Omaha probably wants to win at least one game to secure an at-large bid. St. Cloud probably needs to win the tournament for the auto-bid. -
You know damn well what I meant. That was the domino that caused the other ones to fall. You need 6 teams to form a conference for a sport. Penn State was team #6. Without Penn State, it couldn't have happened, at least not back in 2013. Cute little post, though. PS: I am all for expanding the sport as much as we can.

Yeah, I am not worried about that. With a #3 overall seed, we would have last change against all but two teams. In any event, championship teams find a way even if everything isn't entirely in their favor. -
Great minds think alike!
