  1. Let's not drag this out...........
  2. In other words, load up on older players nobody else wants because they aren't that good. No thank you. We cannot accept mid-major status. It would be the end of everything we hold dear as a program.
  3. This x 100!!! Denver, Michigan and the Goofs are not immune to the impact of early departures, no team is. I know it's been a tough year all around for UND athletics, but we are not going away......as much as Rodentia would like it to happen.
  4. Maybe they are still looking for a "culture" guy.
  5. You know what? If it motivates next years team, then I am all for it. The 2022-23 team lacked a sense of urgency all year. Anything that would light a fire under their collective arses is fine by me.
  6. The tweet does prove that the rivalry is not dead. That is a good thing. Now we have to clean our own mess up so we can play them in the playoffs again.
  7. I haven't brought up Holy Cross in years. And I didn't bring it up in my original post. Because it isn't relevant. What the tweet proves is that UND is not "just another school" to them. And that is good. A rivalry like this one, with all of the history and classic moments, should not be allowed to die because of realignment.
  8. Seven Frozen Fours in 11 years without a single NCAA title was maddening, especially since it happened over and over again. It was like we just kept doing the same things and expected different results. Bad karma is not cashing in when you have the chance, because you never know how many chances you will get. This current stretch we are on now makes all those semifinal losses even harder to swallow. The nickname voting crap was the work of UND's administration, not the fans. The Sioux Forever nonsense is annoying, but I have learned to tune it out. The crapping on other UND sports I agree with you on. I have been fighting that for years. That all being said, none of that compares to the official Gopher Hockey Twitter account taking cheap shots at a school that wasn't even in the tournament this year. Gopher fans are insufferable whether they are winning or losing. Anyway.......F the Gophers.
  9. What we deserve? Being passionate about the program is not a sin. I don't think the tweet I was referencing would have been sent by UND's hockey Twitter account. And calling for a coaches head is hardly exclusive to our fan base or this sport (Gopher fans were calling for Lucia's head for years). If you are talking about that insane All Things Fighting Sioux Facebook group, you may have a point. Anyway........F the Gophers.
  10. Blake has a lot of growing to do before he makes the jump.
  11. That is an intriguing idea. But we need to solve our fundraising issues first.
  12. I thought we trimmed sports a few years ago? Aren't we down to the minimum we need to have?
  13. You need to take a pill and lie down.
  14. Oh yes. VERY, VERY long memories!!!
  15. That program wouldn't know what "humble" is if it shook their hand. The next time one of their fans tells me that Wisconsin is their "real rival" and that UND is "just another school" to them, I will shove this in their face and ask "What say you?". This is the most insufferable fan base in the sport and it is not even close. I will support them when pigs fly and Hades freezes over. They remain Enemy #1, Denver and Duluth don't even come close. F the Gophers.
  16. Yuck it up while you can Rodents. What goes around comes around and you will get yours eventually. I think this needs to be blown up and posted in the home locker room at REA. Light a fire under the a$$es of our players so they are ready to roll in October.
  17. If we don't turn this program around soon, we will get left behind whether or not the B1G is doing well. Wisconsin is a prime example of what can happen to any program. And as long as hockey is third at best in the pecking order at B1G schools, I just don't see those schools pumping a lot of money into hockey. Most Michigan and Ohio State fans probably don't know their favorite schools sponsor this sport. Penn State seems to have embraced hockey, which is great, but it will never get the kind of media attention FB does there. My overall point is people shouldn't jump off bridges based on a sample size of one whole season. College hockey is, and will remain, a highly competitive sport with lots of recruitable talent and a lot of good teams vying for championships. Which is why we should focus on cleaning up our own mess and getting back to winning.
  18. I 100% approve of this message.
  19. Nope, no living in the past for me. Facing up to our problems is the only way to solve them. And we will.
  20. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/id/35727606/ncaa-sanctions-miami-women-hoop-nil-related-infraction%3fplatform=amp Maybe @Frozen4sioux can explain this away? Without calling me stupid this time.
  21. It may not have been intelligible.
  22. I think the COVID year format (2020-21) with all 8 teams in one place may be the long-term solution. It worked well that year and it would be one good thing to come out of that mess of a season.
  23. Question: If the B1G is taking over forever and ever, why did it take 10 years? Realignment was announced in Summer 2011 and took effect in 2013. They could have started recruiting off the almighty B1G name in 2011. The math doesn't add up. The more likely explanation is that the law of averages finally caught up with the NCHC. The NCHC was coming off 5 NCAA titles in 6 years. That wasn't going to go on forever. The B1G was going to get better eventually and have a blockbuster season like the NCHC has had several times in the past decade. There is more recruitable talent available now than ever and the number of schools sponsoring hockey isn't likely to rise any higher than the mid to upper 60's anytime soon. So that should keep this sport highly competitive. Finally, the B1G Sky Is Falling narrative doesn't explain the successes of small schools like Quinnipiac and Denver. UND boosters should take NIL and the emergence of the B1G seriously (I certainly do), but UND will not end up like Canisius or RIT where the main goal will be to make the tournament and maybe win a game if we are lucky. We cannot afford to let it happen. It would doom UND athletics forever. And we must do whatever we can to prevent it from happening.
  24. The Supreme Court said they cannot prohibit NIL. That doesn't mean they cannot regulate it. I saw a story a few weeks back on my ESPN app on a school that was sanctioned for being involved in NIL. So it can be regulated.
  25. One great season does not equal a trend. The NCHC winning 5 out of the last 6 NCAA titles IS a trend. Cripes, take a pill and lie down. This season was a disaster, but it is not the end of the road for us.
