I honestly don't think there is anything there.

Perhaps collegiate athletics needs to crash and burn before it can be changed for the better.

Getting kicked out of the MIAC was the best thing that could have happened to St. Thomas. They will become a factor in Division I during the next 5 to 10 years.

It's the worst run conference in the history of collegiate sports.

I guess I am just tired of UNI getting into the playoffs with a 6-5 record more often than not.

The dominos just keep falling.

I think Northern Iowa is overrated in the MVFC poll.

My point is that nobody can predict what will happen for any team before a single down has been played. Picking a playoff bracket now is a waste of time. If we run the table during the regular season, not being included in the preseason playoff bracket won't matter. But yeah, not being included in a pre-season playoff bracket is a slap in the face and (I hope) bulletin board material for the team.

Preseason rankings of any kind are pretty much worthless.

Just plain Chargers would be more palatable.

Can we all concur that the defense last year was not very good and must improve if this team is going to go any further in the FCS playoffs?

So tell me, is it uncivil to point out that a player in the starting lineup is (or hasn't been up to this point) not very good? I say no. Some people think we should post all positive things all the time and make a conscious choice to ignore any obvious negatives. That is the approach that makes me go "UGH".

So you have a double-secret list of who is contributing to UND athletics and who isn't? If not, I wouldn't be throwing out assumptions. Remember what the first three letters of assumption are........

Pointing out that a player is not very good is not "uncivil". It's just an observation.

To be honest, I wear downvotes as a badge of honor. Telling inconvenient truths that some people won't like is a messy but necessary task. A task I am happy to take on.

I am pretty sure the players aren't soft at all. Just the ducky and bunny crowd on SS.com.

So if a current player is not very good, we are supposed to pretend otherwise and keep our mouths shut? This isn't high school athletics, even if some of our followers treat it as such.

Kelly had nothing to work with in the post 1991 era. I honestly don't know if he could win a title with this team or not. The eras are so different.
