Soooooo time to move on..... NAU game this week
Siouxperfan7 replied to geaux_sioux's topic in Football
UND's main goal on defense this weekend is going to be to stop the run. They are going to stack the box the majority of the time to make sure Bauman doesn't run all over us. Muss today at the UND fan luncheon said that Breneman, Benjamin, and Goodman will all be out this week., so it is going to be a tough task unless some guys stepup...which they are certainly capable of. the starters weren't doing that great the last two weeks against the run...maybe these backups can come up big. Our secondary could be tested more this week than ever...so we will have to see how they do. Being that it is a home game and Homecoming, I think the team will play better than the last two weeks. As far as the attendance, Homecoming will bring more fans out. I saw that the weather is supposed to be in the 50's. Yes, the game is indoors, but that the nece weather will get more people tailgating. If I were to predict, I would guess the attendance will be right around 10,000. -
That's it...let's do it!! Install the "Fun-and-Gun" offence at UND immediately!!

Mussman is obviously trying to geek the NAU coaching staff guessing. Hanson....Hendrickson....both?? Who knows. Muss isn't going to say. He knows what they re going to do. But keeping it vague keeps the other guy guessing. I think we will go with one guy. And I think that guy is Hanson. He said on the coaches show that Hendrickson didn't like going in and out last weekend. MArcus said to Muss to just make a decision and stick with it. Hanson will start IMO. He will take every snap. Only if UND is down at say halftime and Hanson is looking really bad will Hendrickson come in. I am excited to see 4 quarters of Hanson at the helm.

POLL: Should UND-NDSU Resume the Football Series?
Siouxperfan7 replied to ShilohSioux's topic in Football
Until NDSU plays UND, you will consistently here from UND fans that NDSU does not want to play us because they do not want to lose to UND. I am not saying they are scared to play UND by any means. They are the best team in FC right now. They have beaten many ranked teams. They have won a conference title. They have won several games against FBS teams. They have won a National Championship. But even Bison fans can agree that losing to UND in football after all the have accomplished in the past 9 years, would be a huge setback for their program. Sure they can hang their hat, and rightfully so, on all their successes. But losing to UND would be a huge blow to NDSU. So until they decide (or GT decides) to play the game, you are going to keep hearing from UND fans that NDSU does not want to play us because losing would would equal Armageddon in Fargo!! -
Soooooo time to move on..... NAU game this week
Siouxperfan7 replied to geaux_sioux's topic in Football
So 4-1, ranked 18th in the country is not a good team? We all know you think that no one is going to beat the Bison for the next 10 years, and that no team will ever be as good as them, but give NAU a little credit. Wait...unless the team is wearing green and yellow and goes byt the name Bison, you don't give them credit!! -
I noticed that. I am not sure why the hockey team isn't using the interlocking ND logo. I realize that the team has more national recognition and they don;t want to confuse us with Notre Dame. But, our logo is green and black...Notre Dame's is blue. IMO, The interlocking ND should be at center ice, on the helmets, and on the breezers. Its on their jersey on the shoulders, so use it other places too!

So.....anyway........Montana State, that should be a fun new rivalry!!!

One of the best quotes I have heard about the whole nickname debate. Very well said.

Previously there was a date that stores had to sell Sioux merchandise. It was like July 1st 2012 or something like that. Of course that was before the repeal of the repeal and the vote happened. I have not heard of any new dates for merchandisers to sell their Sioux merchandise by. I wonder if they will just be allowed to sell what they have till it runs out.

Soooooo time to move on..... NAU game this week
Siouxperfan7 replied to geaux_sioux's topic in Football
So a little off topic...but in regards to Saturdays game. UND is promoting the Homecoming game as "Get Your Green On." I am wondering if we are going to see the team in their traditional home green jerseys on Saturday. Would make sense to me. Fans are encouraged to wear green....I would think that they would want the team to be a part of that. Much like how the Montana game is a "Blackout game" the team and fans will be wearing black. I am also very curios to see how the new helmet color looks with the green jerseys. -
So obviously the coaches aren't going to say anything as to who will start this Saturday. But who does everyone think will start this weekend? I would have to put my money on Hanson. He is ready to play. I think we need to give him the reigns and see what he can do when he gets a week to prepare to be the starter and play 4 quarters of football.

I would expect a lot of loud, big headed, fat, drunk, dimwitted, obnoxious Bison fans. But that is just a guess

I think there are a lot of people like you that share your view. I do agree that no other name they eventually pick will ever be as good as the Fighting Sioux. No logo will be better than the newest Fighting Sioux logo. But there will come a time when the University chooses a new name and logo. Of course there will be people that will refuse to buy anything with it on it. But I think that eventually even die hard people refusing to invest in the new name and logo will slowly learn to accept it. It will be very hard....harder for some, but I think that we can all eventually unite and support the new name. Eventually all of us will be fans of teams known as the University of North Dakota (insert nickname here).

Memorable moments after 11 years at "The Ralph"
Siouxperfan7 replied to Siouxperfan7's topic in Men's Hockey
To me, the night of the first night of the Regionals at the Ralph in 2006 was the most electrifying atmosphere I have ever been to at the Ralph. Obviously when Holy Cross scored the goal in OT was a crazy moment. To see one of the biggest upsets in college hockey live was pretty sweet. But having it happen to the Gophers made it even better!! I just remember the buzz in the building from when that game got over. The excitement was just building and building until finally the Sioux took the ice for warm ups for their game against Michigan. I still get goosebumps thinking about how loud the fans were when they skated on the ice. By far the loudest the Ralph has ever been!! Def finitely a moment that I will never forget! -
#2 MSU, #6 EWU, #14 Cal Poly, #18 N. Arizona. UND has all 4 of these teams in a 5 week span. Oh, and the fifth is 18 time conference champion Montana!! I would argue that UND has not only the toughest schedule in the conference...but one of the toughest in the country! In these 5 games for sure!

Anyone who thought we were going to come into the Big Sky and dominate was kidding themselves. This is not the Great West. Heck..this isn't even the old NCC. This is the best FCS conference in the country!! And we ran into what looks to be one of the top teams in the conference this year. Does it suck that we lost...of course. Will we recover from it....time will tell, but sometimes you need a butt whooping like that to gain a little focus. This is what Big Sky football is all about boys. Either you adjust and work hard to get better and become one of those top teams...or you settle for how we played last night and become a Big Sky bottom dweller. This team has to much prove and tradition to settle for the play and effort we put out last night. Sometimes good things can come from bad situations. I am hoping it will happen. And I think it will.
-
Well..there are gonna be good days in the Big Sky, and there are gonna be bad bays in the Big Sky. Today was a bad day. We are gonna have days like these as we transition to a new and better league. We know that we need to get better. Especially defensively. EWU is a top 10 team in the country for a reason. We are unranked for a reason. Winning a conference game on the road is always tough. Just need to take our lumps and move on from this game.

After a couple reinstalls and the all import an reboot...got it to work. Anyone here tried hooking up to their TV? Does it look okay or is it too blurry?

So looking for some help here. Trying to get things setup to watch the game tonight on bigskyconf.com. I downloaded the adobe flash and the octosetup software. Still having problems. Anyone else have these type of problems that can help me out? I am using a Mac. Thanks.

Today marks the 11th Anniversary since The Ralph opened its doors for hockey and other events. Thought it would be fun to remember back your most memorable moments at the Ralph these past 11 years. For me, the Opening Night is a night I think few of us will ever forget. UND hockey was already a really big deal here on campus and in the country, but the opening of a 100+ million dollar arena in a city this size for a program is just unbelievable. I remember walking in the door and my jaw dropping at how amazing the arena really was!! From the marble floors, to the leather seats, to the bars at each end...everything was first class. The excitement in the building by all the fans could be felt by everyone. Oh, and the fact that we were playing the Gophers added even more excitement. Sure we lost the game, but that opening night was so anticipated and anyone that calls them self a UND hockey fan definitely felt a great sense of pride and privileged to be able to watch our team in such a great facility.

Students can still go to Fargo for the game. 2011 there were quite a few UND students that made the trip. With us winning the game last year, I think there would be plenty of UND fans (including students) that are feeling pretty confident about our team and think we can beat them. Oh...and to go down there and remind them who won the game last year. So, the opportunity to poke a little fun at the situation is still there.

Hanson making his first start back against a top 10 team on the road is not the most ideal situation to make his comeback start. If Hendrickson was struggling badly, there would be pressure for him to start. but I think that waiting 1 more week for a home game is the ideal scenario Especially since Marcus is filling in nicely. With N. Arizona, Montana, and Montana State the next 3 games on the schedule after EWU, we need Hanson at 100% for those games especially and the rest of the season.

Don't you have to be charges with a crime before you can receive a deferred sentence? Were there even charges filed against them by the GFPD? Were they even involved? (This is a legit question...I am really wondering).

I don’t think you are smart enough or grown up enough or sophisticated enough to understand!!

We get it. You don't like how we respond to your statement. If you aren't satisfied with our responses, why do you continue to post on this site about this topic? No one here is going to agree with the crap that you spew from you mouth. If your only goal was to come on here and get everyone pissed off at you...mission accomplished. But seriously...if you don't have anything relevant to say....get outta here!!! No one wants to hear from you.
