  1. Today marks the 11th Anniversary since The Ralph opened its doors for hockey and other events. Thought it would be fun to remember back your most memorable moments at the Ralph these past 11 years. For me, the Opening Night is a night I think few of us will ever forget. UND hockey was already a really big deal here on campus and in the country, but the opening of a 100+ million dollar arena in a city this size for a program is just unbelievable. I remember walking in the door and my jaw dropping at how amazing the arena really was!! From the marble floors, to the leather seats, to the bars at each end...everything was first class. The excitement in the building by all the fans could be felt by everyone. Oh, and the fact that we were playing the Gophers added even more excitement. Sure we lost the game, but that opening night was so anticipated and anyone that calls them self a UND hockey fan definitely felt a great sense of pride and privileged to be able to watch our team in such a great facility.
  2. Students can still go to Fargo for the game. 2011 there were quite a few UND students that made the trip. With us winning the game last year, I think there would be plenty of UND fans (including students) that are feeling pretty confident about our team and think we can beat them. Oh...and to go down there and remind them who won the game last year. So, the opportunity to poke a little fun at the situation is still there.
  3. Hanson making his first start back against a top 10 team on the road is not the most ideal situation to make his comeback start. If Hendrickson was struggling badly, there would be pressure for him to start. but I think that waiting 1 more week for a home game is the ideal scenario Especially since Marcus is filling in nicely. With N. Arizona, Montana, and Montana State the next 3 games on the schedule after EWU, we need Hanson at 100% for those games especially and the rest of the season.
  4. Don't you have to be charges with a crime before you can receive a deferred sentence? Were there even charges filed against them by the GFPD? Were they even involved? (This is a legit question...I am really wondering).
  5. I don’t think you are smart enough or grown up enough or sophisticated enough to understand!!
  6. We get it. You don't like how we respond to your statement. If you aren't satisfied with our responses, why do you continue to post on this site about this topic? No one here is going to agree with the crap that you spew from you mouth. If your only goal was to come on here and get everyone pissed off at you...mission accomplished. But seriously...if you don't have anything relevant to say....get outta here!!! No one wants to hear from you.
  7. Ok, Ok. Enough already!! I am getting depressed!!!
  8. One of the most preposterous statement I have heard in a very, very long time!!!!
  9. Alright boys....no one wants to hear which one of you has a better business. No one here really cares!!
  10. If NDSU, Craig Bohl, Gene Taylor, or Dean Bresciani had any (intestinal fortitude), they would suspend these guys for the Youngstown State game. You want to make a statement to the football team and other student athletes that ANY misconduct is taken seriously and that no player or players are above the rules, then you suspend these players for the biggest game of the year. It will send a strong message to athletes that the University, president, AD, and coaching staff are concerned about the character and integrity of their student athletes and that when issues come up that question that character and integrity (especially when those issues involve breaking the law) that they will punish them accordingly. We can all rip on the NDSU brass for what they have said and done in regards to this situation in the past, but I for one would gain respect for them if they suspended them this Saturday.
  11. I am not holding my breath for any suspensions.
  12. Since you said that you agreed that the players should be punished, and you obviously think that players that are suspended should be suspended for "high profile" games, I can assume that you think that suspending these guys for the upcoming game against Youngstown state would be suitable!!
  13. "Bison head coach Craig Bohl says a statement on possible action will be announced later today." The NDSU brass has always said that they are going to let things play out in court before they decide what to do. Well, the courts have spoken. What will Bohl do now? Your guess is as good as mine!!
  14. http://www.inforum.com/event/article/id/376144/ "They all received deferred imposition of sentence, 360 days of unsupervised probation, $300 legislative fee, 50 hours of community service to be completed by April 15 and a $25 community service fee."
  15. There is no doubt that these guys were "hired" because they were NDSU football players. Who is going to have a better chance of people coming up to them at West Acres......me or Sam Ojuri. These guys are very recognizable, especially if they were wearing NDSU clothing. It is the reason that they were chosen to get these signutures. They have a greater chance to get somone to come talk to them and get them to sign the petitions. It will be interesting to see if the NCAA gets involved. They ar possibly waiting to see what happens in the trial and what the administration at NDSU does. If they just issue a slap on the wrist after these guys are convicted, they may be getting involved. And when the NCAA gets involved in your affairs....its never a good thing!!
  16. Court day today!! http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/246126/
  17. Northern Iowa, 1-4 ranked #22?? What a joke. I don't care who you lost to. If you are 1-4, you have no business being in the top 25!
  18. Alright...finally back on track after this thread went off track for a bit. I think that this game is going to be a close game. Cal Poly's triple option is gonna be tough for us. Need to make tackles. Our run game finally stepped it up so that definitely balances us out. I think that the home field advantage is gonna be the decider in this one. UND - 34 Cal Poly - 27
  19. What is the mascot then? What exactly does a Nodak look like?
  20. A big Oil derrick trophy would be sweet!!
  21. I have always wondered if there was a way to come up with a new name and logo, but keep it similar to the Fighting Sioux logo. What about choosing the name "Roughriders" and having a Bennet Brien type logo of Teddy Roosevelt facing to the left using the same type of color scheme and look to it. Heck, maybe Brien can even design it. That way the logo would be different but have the same type of look to it. Would maybe be easier for people to adjust and accept it. Just a thought.
  22. "Here's your University of North Dakota Sas-squatch-scoooooooooooooring"!!!
  23. North Dakota Dakotans? No thanks. I do however like the possiblity of using the term "Dakota Territory." Could be used before games. Much like the Minnesota Twins use the term "Twins Territory." "You're in Dakota Territory." Has a good ring to it!!
  24. Sell beer??? That's the best part about tailgating...you can BYOB!!! I would much rather spend 20 bucks for a case of beer than 20 bucks for 4 beers! But that's just me.
  25. I will take a 10% Hendrickson over a 80% Hanson. But as soon as Hanson is 100%.....he deserves the start. He earned it and would fit right back ion the offense. There is a reason that he won the job in the spring and in the fall camp. He is better. But only if he is at 100%. Until then, Marcus will be just fine. I am confident in both our quarterbacks. But given the choice between both if they are both at 100%, I'd take Hanson.
