  1. Some also need to remember that there wasn't really another option. What was UND supposed to do, save womens hockey and cut 5-6 other sports? No way you can do that. UND was fortunate to only cut the amount of programs they did. Womens hockey being cut resulted in less.
  2. So what would be considered a win for Kennedy and acceptable? 100% of football ticket sales and 60% of everything else? I think that Kennedy shouldn't have accepted anything less than that.
  3. Latest update. Looks like we will know the new deal in a week. Key take from the article, there is a new agreement. http://www.grandforksherald.com/news/education/4460225-new-usage-agreement-being-negotiated-between-und-ralph-engelstad-arena
  4. Anyone else find it odd that the neither of the Lamoureux twins have tweeted about this lawsuit? Seems like they would be all over this story!
  5. The suit says the hockey program was "the most prominent and popular sport" among women's athletic programs at the Grand Forks college. A little bit misquoted, but even claiming that it was the most prominent and popular sport among womens athletic programs is a stretch. Womens basketball and volleyball were much more popular. Attendance numbers don't lie.
  6. It looks legit. And really, that's all that matters right!1 I doubt someone is going to question the authenticity of the jersy hanging in your man cave!!
  7. Well, Looking at the signatures that I can make out (that have a number by them) the signature under the "O" looks like Jason Ulmer with #9 by it. Also the signature by the 3rd feather from the top of the Sioux head looks like #2 Curtis Murphy. So you might have made a pretty good find.
  8. Let's just say by some miracle that they actually win the lawsuit against the NDUS. Does the NDUS have the authority to tell UND what programs their athletic teams can and cannot sponsor?
  9. I don't think that it's too much for schools in the NATIONAL Collegiate Hockey Conference to understand that the conference is not a regional conference (like Hockey East). I don't think Miami and WMU would look to go to say the WCHA because of travel reasons.
  10. I think the NCHC should wait until another western school starts D1 and then add them as well as ASU.
  11. Road trips to Tempe and Las Vegas when the weather in Grand Forks is -10....yeah, I think people would be in favor of this!!!
  12. I also never bought into the notion that St Cloud would water down the NCHC either. I am all for taking ASU. It is the "National" Collegiate Hockey Conference after all. So who will be the 10th team? Mankato? BGSU? A school TBD that is adding hockey?
  13. Was that the only issue with ASU joining? Or was the NCHC reluctant to sign for other reasons?

    2018 Season

Homecoming should have been the October 13th game against Montana, but there is a hockey game that night against Bemidji St. that night. It's a home and home, so not sure why they didn't schedule the game in Grand Forks Friday so UND could have it's homecoming game and festivities after that night on Saturday. Also, you aren't going to have the Potato Bowl on the Thursday opener either, so they are kind of stuck. I guess we can expect that game to be a sellout then!!
  15. ASU getting new on campus stadium to be complete by November 2020. http://thesportsdaily.com/2018/06/11/asu-sun-devils-to-get-on-campus-hockey-arena-g1w1/

    2018 Season

Obviously his guy doesn’t understand how college football scheduling works. Games are scheduled u0 to 8-10 years in advance. I way of knowing how good the opponent is going to be. https://athlonsports.com/college-football/most-shameful-college-football-games-2018 6. North Dakota at Washington, Sept. 8 Non-conference games like this one aren't going to help the Pac-12's collective strength of schedule. Washington ranked in the top 20 in scoring offense and in the top five in scoring defense among FBS teams last season. North Dakota tied for ninth (out of 13 teams) in the Big Sky while sputtering to a 3-8 record.
  17. You are missing the point. Ark-Pine Bluff as zero. UND has 1, potentially 0 at the end of the month. Several other schools have 1. Many more have only 2. Many more than that only have 3. Hundreds more have only 4. So yes I get it. Zero womens head coaches at a D1 University is bad. But many other schools are barely better. that is the point we are all trying to convince only you who seam to be defending Schloss at all costs instead of just calling him out on his lazy click bait reporting in this case.
  18. Matches the track. It is a good look. Not sure what color you want to call it.
  19. Guy, I figured it out. StoneySioux is Schlossman!!
  20. Would be good for the BTHC to get them to 8. Also good to have another P5 school with hockey. I hope it happens!!

    2018 Season

First preseason poll is out!! https://athlonsports.com/college-football/athlon-sports-preseason-fcs-top-25-2018
  22. An easy google search would have gotten relevant information that would have added important context to the article. https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1GCEA_enUS781US781&ei=zZ4WW4TXJsbWsAHtjaWQDA&q=female+head+coaches+college+athletics&oq=female+head+coaches+college+athletics&gs_l=psy-ab.3..33i21k1.4594.7122.0.7225.17.10.0.0.0.0.430.1470.2-3j1j1.5.0....0...1.1.64.psy-ab..12.5.1470...0i22i30k1j33i22i29i30k1j33i160k1.0.avB8bdzb2sU But I am glad he got the exact number of pullups Bernard-Docker was able to do!! That number was definitely more important to get!
  23. Welcome to media in today's society. It's not about reporting the news. It's about creating a narrative and expressing the opinion of the writer of the article. It's not like this is something new. Certainly not at the Herald, and certainly not with Schlossman. Look at his reporting on the womens hockey story last year.
  24. Right, but by leaving out that information the reader would assume that this is only a UND problem when in fact it is a nationwide problem. I get the exclusive factor of having no female head coaches is the hook of the article. But this problem is an issue across the country, including the other 3 Dakota schools. Is Matt Larsen aware of the lack of female coaches at NDSU?
  25. Number of Womens head coaches after June 30th: UND - 0 NDSU - 2 USD - 2 SDSU - 3 Sure UND is going to be one of only two D1 Universities without a womens head coach, but it's not like other schools in the area are doing any better. National average is 40%, so the rest of the country isn't doing great either. Lazy reporting by Schloss not to even mention these other statistics.
