I haven't been to active on the message board this year simply because I haven't gotten to excited over the Sioux this year. Then I went to the Sat. game against the Gophers and I rekindled my passion for Sioux hockey. Funny, a 0-6 loss made me more excited, but the fight with McMahon and Vanelli got me so pumped up. Rory is my new favorite Sioux player. I am excited for the rest of this season and I hope that the Sioux can turn it up a notch when it is time.

Where's Smaby? Where's Greene? I would also love to see one with Greene and Jones together. All the rest look great.

I was at the game last night and to me it didn't look like the Sioux hockey I know. It's very early in the season and I expect them to get a lot better. I was really impressed by all the freshman because they worked their butts off in the corners. I was disappointed in Stafford sluggish play. Greene took WAY to many penalties and that's not good. Mankato's powerplay looked worse than the Sioux's and that's terrible. The Mav fans were screaming at them to shoot the puck but they just wouldn't. Mason (the ref) kept on giving them powerplays. If I were the Mavs I would've thought I had a better chance at 5-5 rather than 5-4 or 5-3.

Did anyone else think that Stafford was just kind of going through the motions? It didn't look like he was giving it his all. It looked like he was on auto-pilot all night.

I'm going to school in St. Peter which is 10 miles from Mankato and I haven't heard anything about the game on tv. I'm pretty sure we didn't get the games last year either.

You know I'll be at the Mankato series. I went to the series last year down in 'Kato when the Sioux laid the smack down on the poor little Mavs. I hope it's a repeat. I'm getting more excited for the season now that the Twins have disappointed me. I'm pumped for this series.

What is my deal? Is anyone else feeling a little iffy on the upcoming season? I mean, with all of these changes to the program I'm afraid it won't be the same Sioux hockey I've been accustomed too. After last year's unbelievably dissappointing end to the season I have heard nothing to settle my stomach. The Trinity left our program God's sake! Parise, Blais, and Bochenski all bolt to the NHL. Do they know something I don't? Will someone give me some positive vibes to calm my stomach. By no means am I going to give up on the program though. I bleed Sioux green during the season.

They have no problem with me because they always beat us.

People that start threads like this should get some type of punishment. It's not funny at all.

I have no beef with Shattuck. I said I had a problem with Breck. I didn't say I had a problem with suburban Minneapolis kids. I said I had a problem with Breck. I go to school with a lot of kids from suburban Minneapolis and I am friends with many of them.

I was just saying what I thought he looked like. I wasn't 100% serious when I was talking about him. Any player who is 6'3" and 218 probably isn't a wimp. I would love to have him play for the Sioux. Having a fighter on your hockey team is always a plus though.

He sounds like a good player but what's up with that -15 in '02-'03? He sounds like a monster at 6'3" but his photo makes him looks like a mama's boy. He doesn't look like a fighter.

Breck School as in stuck up punk kids who live in the 'burbs. As you can tell I have a little beef with them. It would make no sense to go after a kid who isn't even remotely interested in coming. We don't need him. If we needed him Bochenski, Murray, and Genoway would not be here. If we needed him we would be a sorry program that has losing seasons. As I see it Wheeler is just another Gopher to kick the crap out of.

Agreed, he made the other high school players look like little boys with his mad skills. Sounds like we got a sweet class coming in. I think I've gotten over Parise leaving and I'm pumped for next season with all of the returning talent and a lot of new faces.

I didn't see anything about the award in the new SI. I'm curious where The Herald found this.
