  1. I'm not critizing anyone. I'm just saying that the Ralph could have been filled more at times last year. Fan for fan the Ralph is louder than the Metrodome. End of story. The Metrodome may be louder than the Ralph but it probably has 20,000+ more fans.
  2. For all you crazies out there that are willing to pay $20+ to get a Sioux hockey network here's some advice. Spend your money on a ticket and come to the game. The past 4 seasons of Sioux hockey I had season tickets to the Sioux hockey games. I don't think I missed more than a couple of games those 4 seasons. Now, I'm in college down in southern Minnesota and I don't even get to watch the games on tv. I'm lucky if I find time to listen to them on the internet. Anyway, what I'm trying to get at is there is nothing like a Sioux hockey game when the Ralph is packed with the best fans in the world. I went to both of the Twins home playoff games against the Yanks this year and I can honestly say the Ralph is probably fan for fan louder than the Metrodome (granted there wasn't much to cheer for at the Twins games). When you are at a Sioux game and they are playing a big game it is so loud and crazy in there, it's awesome. There's nothing like Sioux hockey!!!
  3. Yeah, but the article I saw was in the Star Tribune. It was a different artilce. The DIII committee was going to vote to put the proposal into affect in January. The schools affected were going to voted on in January and then, if passed, would go into effect in 2008. The time from the vote to the 2008 school year would be the time the schools have to decide what they are going to do as far as moving divisions or whatever.
  4. I read today in the Star Tribune that the DIII committee has decided on a reform proposal to take away the scholarships of DIII schools that have a DI program. This means that Colorado College, who was the co-founder of the WCHA, would have the all of their hockey scholarships taken away and would either have to move to DII or move their hockey program to a lesser division. The other DI hockey schools affected are Clarkson, St Lawrence, and Renssalaer (RPI). All of these schools are very solid in college hockey. CC who is a contender every year and the rest of the schools have very good teams annually. I can understand that the DIII committee wants to keep their policy and not offer athletic scholarships, but to get rid of a great program like CC hockey is a shame. I hope that they can work it out to were CC can keep playing DI hockey. DI college hockey needs all of the teams it can get right now after expanding the NCAA tournament to 16 teams. If anyone else has input or comments on this topic let us know
  5. It's better he doesn't play this week than not play the rest of the season. I would hate to be Yale when Zach comes back to play. That boy is going to be angry! You don't want to play against Zach when he's angry he'll kill you single handedly.
  6. For the little I watched of the Gopher Maine game I heard Woog's and Mozzoco's comments on the Sioux goalies. Hahaha. I think the Sioux have a better goalie situation than the Goophers right now. So many young guys coming in and the veteran Brandt and Ranfranz. Woog and Mozzoco called the Sioux's goalie situation a "lazy susan." I just sat and laughed at that comment. Just for fun As up and down as our goalies are I think we should have goalie subs during games. Like whenever Blais thinks one goalie is going down hill in a point in the game just switch goalies during play. We could stack two lines of players and then have 5 goalies to switch with. I'm messing with you guys! I also wanted to say. What an awful weekend to be a Gopher fan!!! Hahaha that's a shame they blow a lead in football and get pounded in hockey against Maine. I really feel bad for them
  7. The nickname of the school is the Fighting Sioux!!! That is honoring them!!! Mr tboneund has some very good points. BUT, hanging banners in OUR arenas isn't going to stop other students from other universities using the name in senseless means. Naming buildings after rich white folks is what universities do. A person gives you enough money to build a building the least you can do is name it after the person. To give your school the nickname of the Sioux is one thing, but when you have some of the best athletic teams in the country to back up the name it means so much more. The Sioux name is known nationally because of the unbelievable success of the athletic teams at UND. e.g. hockey, football, basketball, and many more.
  8. My opinion is that Zach will be a great player in the NHL. IF he stays in school for whole 4 years. I'm not saying that Zach should stay in school for 4 years because I'm a Sioux fan and want to see him play. I'm saying that because in any major sport you see kids go to college for one or two years and then they go into the pros with expectations of the world on their shoulders and they blow their chance because they weren't ready. With the few exceptions of Kevin Garnett and Kobe Bryant you don't see to many young prospects out of high school or one year of college make noise. Every major sports league should follow the NFL and make a set minimum age in when you can enter for the draft. The NFL is doing Maurice Clarett a favor by not letting him enter the draft. Clarett would get crushed in the NFL because he's not physically, mentally, or emotionally ready for it. Don't go Zach!!!
  9. You don't want to make Zach mad!!!
  10. I would probably agree with his prediction of the WCHA, but he did not give the Sioux much respect. I say let him blow us off. We know how good of a team we have. Let the players prove him wrong. Since when do Sioux fans care what Woogy has to say, or any Goopher for that matter!!! Let the Goopher talk all he wants. Isn't he the same dope that said he would never recruit out of the state of Minnesota. Look how well that turned out for the Woogster. Woog is George Costanza minus the weight problem. He's got the bald thing going and he's a total moron when it comes to anything.
  11. Thank you for proving my point Mr. Sicatoka. I rest my case!
  12. My opinion is that the nickname should stay. Although, you say that it should be an issue that those who are against it should deal with it, but as I see it, what is there to deal with? The University is HONORING the Sioux nation of Native Americans because they are a very strong people. The University isn't using the nickname to try and make fun of them or put them down. My question is who are these people that are against it? Is it mostly Native Americans or is it these liberal white folks that don't understand what they are opposed to? The University, along with other universities and professional athletic teams, is HONORING Native Americans. That should be the end of the argument, but it will never be as long as there are people who don't know what they are arguing about.
  13. If you don't like the video don't go to the games!!! Quit whining about the stupid video and go to the hockey game to...WATCH HOCKEY!!! I could wouldn't care if they had a video or not. We are the most fortunate fans of any sports team in the world. We have great teams that contend every year, we have a great coach, and we have the best facility in all of college hockey and a lot of pro hockey arenas. It's unbelieveable how spoiled some people can get.
