The article isn't talking about kids that are 5 and 6 years old. I don't understand what you're getting at. Yes, kids at the age of 5 and 6 don't really care about winning but the article was talking about the state tournaments. Also, I've coached 5 to 6 years olds in t-ball and I've never heard a parent say "yes but you still lost." If any parent said that it would be wrong but I wouldn't expect it at that age. The parent would probably say it when the kid read JUNIOR HIGH AND UP.

Here is my opinion. I don't care if people say it's biased because I'm a Sioux fan. I saw Ballard play the Sioux every game this year and last year. I think Ballard is a cheap little punk. He is as cocky as they come. He hangs on players and he gets his shots in after the whistle. In other words, he's a textbook Gopher.

*DING* Sioux Cred for moving just because the other town has a better hockey program.
-
I have heard for a long time what a punk Bertuzzi was. THAT'S WHY I LOVE HOCKEY!
-
I agree totally. If you can't take it as well as dish it out then run to your mommy and get home-schooled.

Kids don't care about losing? What planet are you from? I hate to be cliche but winning is everything to kids at the age of junior high and up.

What would be more embarassing than being the only team in your section to not compete in the section tournament. Students from surrounding communities would have a field day ripping on the team for wussing out and not playing in the section tournament. As a former student-athlete in a fairly small town in northwest Minnesota I cannot tell you how frustrating it is to go to the State Tournament knowing you will have to play a private school from the suburbs and that you pretty much have no shot. Yet, just getting to the State tournament is a huge accomplishment. There is nothing wrong with the high school tournaments! Nothing needs to be changed! If your team loses badly to another team it's the coaches and parents job to show the kid it's not the end of the world. Losing 27-0 builds character!

I wish I could think without a doubt that Bochenski or Parise will win it but those stupid snobby East Coast people will have a huge say in who wins it. They both have a great chance to be the first Fighting Sioux player to win it since Hrkac.
-
The wallpaper looks sweet but unfortunately I can't use it because everytime I put a Fighting Sioux wallpaper on my computer they lose. So I'm not going to risk anything. Bochenski or Parise for Hobey! Murray for ROTY! Sioux for NCAA Champs!
-
If they pick anybody other than Murray the Sioux should leave the WCHA. I HATE THE GOPHERS! (just letting off some steam)
-
That's 12 WCHA banners now folks!
-
How about they drop the price about $2 first. They're so good though it's morons like me that allow them to be sold at that price.

I am sick and tired of hearing Gopher fans complain about the Sioux's supposedly "easy schedule." They play in the best conference in the nation and they also played the #2 team in the nation this year.
-
Just a little note for the Hokie: Doug Flutie (BC Alum and '84 Heisman Trophy winner) was a better college quarterback than Mike Vick. He may have the better professional career as well. All you Flutie haters can just go be Gopher fans.

Please don't use this info for disrupting home ice

I've met just as many stupid Gopher fans as I've met Sioux fans. I wouldn't be surprised if I ran into this opposite thread on POI. Bad name? We're the best fans in college hockey what are you talking about? -
Why on God's green earth would you ever want to be #2?!!! You take the #1 ranking anytime you can get it. You never should be satisfied with being #2 because there is less pressure. That's what sports is, that's what tournament time is, pressure. Giddyup Jaker, let's ride to Boston.
-
What better team to beat for the WCHA championship than your biggest rival? I hope I see the Sioux manhandle the Gophers in the final game.
-
It's like music to my ears.

I didn't see the Parise goal on Saturday night but I read the GF Herald and it said there should have been and offsides call on the Sioux and the play should've been stopped. If it was offsides I don't feel bad. You take a win whenever you can get it even if it's not fair. We got hosed in Minnesota so I don't mind hosing someone else. Road to the Frozen Four has been paved baby. Let's hop on and ride Jaker to the promised land.

I had no doubt the Sioux could sweep Duluth. I said it all week that they would. Almost everything was in the Sioux's favor for a sweep. Sioux were the last team to beat Duluth, Sioux just played their best game of the year in Mankato, and they were playing a lower ranked team. As PA & Dubay would say, I'm just a great hockey mind.
-
I'm almost positive that the players pay for it by themselves. There is no way a high school booster program would pay that kind of money.
-
Say hello to your new #1 team in the country!
-
GET YOUR BROOMS OUT FOLKS!!!
-
Gotta keep the faith that the Sioux will hold on.
-
Not really. We could not score for the rest of the game and still win.
