  1. Don't tell me these games don't count. It goes on the record so it does count. Don't be like the Gopher fans and try to down play a major loss. That's foolish.
  2. Good post. I would have to say Wisconsin. I can relate with their hatred towards the Gophers. The other teams hate the Goofs but Wisconsin sees the dirtiness of the Gophers. CC has a good program too. I would say Wisco is #1 and CC is #2 on my most respected teams list. Duluth might be #3.
  3. How did you do it? I would like to do that with an air hockey table.

    NHL Fight

I went to hockeyfights.com and checked out the video. Boogard dropped the guy like a sack of garbage. He actually was in two fights last night. The best fight is against Fedoruk and the other is O'Brien. Boogy is a force. Click here for the link and scroll down to October 27.
  5. I got tickets for Friday's game on Thursday night and we got section 102, row D. They were fantastic seats and there were 10 seats open in the row. There were a lot of open seats last night.
  6. I was at the game last night and the Sioux looked flat. That first period looked like a familiar Sioux team that comes out rolling but the second and third periods is our problem. It's like we start the game thinking we can get a shutout so we play hard and fight, but then once we let in a goal are feelings get hurt and we get down on ourselves. The first goal by Mankato was a nice pass across the goal and the punched it in. Greico couldn't get over in time. The second goal was a hard shot from Greico's left-side that somehow trickled through him. If I remember correctly, the puck was in the zone for a long time and the Sioux could not get control of it. The third goal was like the D wasn't working hard and Kalinski stole it and scored easily on a breakaway. The second and third goals happened 20 seconds apart from each other and a spectator could easily tell they weren't working as hard as Mankato was. Oshie, Bina, Duncan, Miller, and Forney were the only players that seemed like they worked hard on every shift. Oshie was an absolute workhorse and was clearly the best player out there last night. More than one time on the penalty kill he chased down the player carrying the puck and wreaked havoc and caused frustration. The Sioux have incredible potential, which is obvious from the dominant first period. However, right now the team is not focusing for the entire game and that's what get them into trouble. There is no way that we are only one goal better than Mankato. Our talent compared to Mankato's is convincingly more. It's just that they figured they could maybe pull out a win after scoring that first goal and started to work harder than the Sioux. I am 100% sure that Hakstol will get this team to be as good as it can be for playoff time, but right now we need to play as a team and work. The Midwest Wireless Center was hopping last night. Whenever the Mavs score a goal the entire crowd jumps up and sings, "Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole." With about 3,500 people in attendance it was about as loud as the Ralph gets.
  7. I am leaving for the game in 10 minutes. It should be a good one. I'll give a recap of what I see when I come back later tonight. Go Sioux!
  8. Does anyone have pics of the game? I would give my left arm for the pic or vid of Oshie putting Pepin in the Sioux bench. That was the greatest college hockey hit I have ever seen. Pepin = 6-7 208 Oshie = 5-10 165
  9. My girlfriend found this check company online that lets you put any picture on the background of the checks. She has a picture of her and I with our Sioux jerseys. Check it out: checksinthemail.com
  10. I would see this guy at every game, but I never knew who he was. All I knew was that he was diehard because I saw him every time I was at a Sioux game. Those Gopher fans up in heaven must have been giving God a hard time, and so He needed another Sioux fan by His side.
  11. The first song fits Prpich's fight perfectly. Awesome selection. Seeing that video makes me want to cry. I can't believe how close we have come in that last few years.

    NHL draft news

Did anyone else see the article on ESPN.com by John Buccigross about the NHL draft? Buccigross is predicting Kessel to go at number 7 overall to the Islanders! Toews is predicted to go at #3 to Chicago. Click here to read the article.
  13. I have a warm spot for Wisconsin because, just like me, they hate the Gophers with a passion.
  14. This is a dumb thread. The Sioux are clearly not the "real Champions" because there wasn't a "real" NCAA tournament. The Sioux made a great run, but the Badgers were clearly the best team in the country throughout the entire year. The Sioux lost, cry about it and wait until next season. I hope Hak and the boys are furious with two losses in the Frozen Four over two years. I expect one of the greatest Sioux seasons ever in 2006-2007 with number 8 coming to GF.
  15. I just want to give a big thanks to Dave K for sending me the DVDs of some very important Sioux games. I didn't think this day would get anymore exciting and then I open up the mail and found gold. I can't wait to watch them . Once again, thanks Dave. I will send your cards out to you ASAP.
  16. I will watch both the Final Four and Frozen Four. So, obviously it's not two different fan bases. I'm sure there are thousands of other people who are interested in both tournaments. However, I do think it's ridiculous to wait two weeks to play the Frozen Four. It's like waiting two weeks for the Super Bowl. The people that schedule these events are just toying with our emotions. They like to see us in such agony.
  17. If you think Lucia is in the same boat as Deano you're head is not attached properly. It seems to me that Blais was able to get his teams playing consistently great hockey throughout the entire season. With Hakstol it's so unpredictable nobody knows what is going to happen during the regular season, but his teams will be the best during the playoffs. Lucia's teams seem to have to be having troubles in the post season lately. If Chia didn't get lucky with those two national championships he would've been fired by now .
  18. It was great to be apart of such an awesome atmosphere last night. I have never seen the Ralph like that before. Hopefully the NCAA sees this and understands that UND is nothing but proud. I think the Ralph and UND have done an awesome job getting this tourney going. For future reference, if the Sioux ever host another NCAA tournament they should designate a large enough room for all the Gopher fans to cry in. It was embarassing to see grown men with tears dripping down their face (I honestly saw a man walking in the Ralph wearing a Gopher jersey and his eyes red as if he'd been crying). It is great to be a Sioux fan!
  19. Lets kick the Gophers when they're down. Give the Hobey to Carle! Don't give the Gophs anything to cheer for.
  20. Sure, 8 is great, but nine is pretty fine too.
  21. It's not nearly as good as the almighty Gophers incoming class is. I wouldn't worry about the Sioux next year if I were the Gophers. They will be worse than ever, trust me .
  22. The Sioux are a completely different team than they were when they faced the Gophers. You can't deny that. Would you like some more stats to prove that this game is closer than everyone thinks? I'll give them to you anyway, Bucky. Holy Cross is 54th in DI when it comes to penalty minutes taken. That means that the Gophers won't have their beloved PP to lean on. Also, Holy Cross has the sixth best PP unit in DI, so the Gophers won't be able to goon it up. Holy Cross made the tournament for a reason. They are 26-9-2 on the season, and I don't care what conference you are in that is good. Obviously, Minnesota is the better team, but Holy Cross is no push-over. All I'm saying is that it's March and anything can happen. Even the "best college hockey team" (a.k.a the Gophers) can lose. It is possible.
