Just off the top of my head, Drake and Valpo and the Pioneer League in general. However, I'm not sure of anyone else outside of that. Northeast, Patriot, MEAC, Southern?

President Kennedy Message on Athletics

Here's where the biggest frustration lies... Put any of us dummies discussing this thread in a room together for a week and we can resolve it......EASILY....for the betterment of the UND Athletics Department for the long-term by eliminating womens hockey and reallocating resources etc... We can all agree on that. But UND sits there and hides behind Title IX publicly. Essentially we are being lied to. It's an absolute failure in vision and leadership yet again.- 2,150 replies

I just asked the question so I understood your intent based on your history on the topic here. Thanks for clarifying. It would be "more expensive to tier" in another sport long term? Help me out as I cannot think of another womens sport more expensive than womens hockey.- 2,150 replies

60 division 1 mens ice hockey programs in the NCAA. 35 division 1 womens ice hockey programs in the NCAA. AMAZINGLY......25 institutions are way out of whack with their Title IX compliance. Or they are much more smarter than us.... Or they choose to be compliant in other ways.- 2,150 replies

Just so I'm clear on the intent of your message, are you citing as fact, that UND legally was not capable to cut womens hockey because of Title IX compliance? No way around it?- 2,150 replies

There's a lot to both. To the first point about the potential of womens hockey: It is my opinion that has already been proven. We have since ceased ticketing for home games for womens hockey. I think that speaks volumes about the general program interest and financial potential. The peak has come and gone. To the 2nd point: No you will ever read or see anyone from REA publicly state that on the record. But it's true. Just have to take it at face value I guess. From a business standpoint, there is no incentive for the REA to house, staff and administer that program. It is a black hole for them - and that is fact. Again, womens hockey expense is north of 2 million on an annual basis (everyone can just ignore the "cooked books" number of 1.4 like myself and others here have always said). The fear-mongering fallacy of Title IX compliance being the sole purpose and reason why we cannot cut womens hockey obviously has won out. Congrats to Daniella Irle and Sue Jeno. It could have (fact) and should have (opinion) been cut, but it wasn't.- 2,150 replies

I 100% agree and said the same thing prior to the UND-Poly game. SDSU was awful on the perimeter with technique, assignment and pursuit angle. Specifically their corners just sat there and stayed blocked and didn't restrict the alley at all. Terrible D against the option that day by SDSU. They are better than that.

Am I the only one who is fascinated/amazed/amused/shocked by the fact that Faison appears to have avoided any public criticism by the media for any of this? Both for Schafer and Kennedy? Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, IAC included, is impressed with his "leadership" on any of this. How is this possible? This is HIS mess as much as it is anyone else's, from many different angles. I saw a quote from the SWA in Schlossman's article, but nothing from the AD. Was he out of the country? Might as well be. Why isn't the AD held accountable by the Herald and otherwise in the media? I do not understand it.- 2,150 replies

So they couldn't go 8-3, 7-4 or even 6-5 (WIU) with all the 'quality losses'... Got it.
-
In one word...No.

I just went back and watched the first USD TD on the fullback up the seam. Cover zero, tight end blocked down and fullback came out like was going to go to the flat on a quick hitter. I stand corrected - that one was on Reyes. Tough read, great play design by USD. "Gotcha" play. I imagine they broke a film tendency there too. The play before that, Cole ran up the seam with the inside WR on a double-move and broke up the pass in the end zone.

Respectfully... Even "elite" players make mistakes. And based on the games I watch, he doesnt make "too many mistakes". When he is in the game, he is a difference maker. When he's not, the defense is not the same. Watch the film. How is he grading out for assignment and technique? Reyes was 2nd team all-conference last year as a sophomore while missing time with an injury. The Big Sky coaches voted him there. The two 1st team all-conference safeties were seniors. One was drafted in the 4th round, one was signed as a free agent. Cole is the best safety in the Big Sky right now (my opinion of course), and he's only a junior. This year, the Big Sky coaches voted Reyes preseason 1st team all-conference as a junior. The BSC coaches like what they have seen on film from him. At this point, it is my belief that Reyes is a candidate for 2016 Big Sky Defensive POY, given his performance so far. I realize he has to stay healthy and continue his strong play through the BSC conference season. Next year, he should be a candidate for 2017 BSC preseason defensive POY. Could he be better in coverage? Maybe. But everyone can always be better. Cole has not blown a coverage for a TD this year blown only one coverage for a TD this year. IMO, Cole Reyes is already "elite", only 3 games into his junior season. The BSC coaches seem to think so as well. Pretty impressive.

Post of the year entry...

That's 'alotta quit' in ya.... Thankfully our staff and team don't subscribe to this mentality. Have some pride.

Hey, LOVE the effort. Screw those people sitting around you who look annoyed. Just keep doing your thing. Lead by example. Love it.

If you left at the 12 minute mark of the 4th today, stay home. Forever...

Same old USD. Good game.

Just wasn't sure if you thought Stony Brook and their "vaunted" defense was quality enough yet or not. You hadn't really bought in since we played them in 2014. They had the #1 defense last year in the country in yards and were 6th in points, 1 spot behind the cow college. Glad to see you've come around.
-
Wait....so Stony Brook is a "quality loss" then?
-
Sorry, guess I needed purple font.

Stony Brook is terrible...
