  1. We are not recruiting any Texas kids. Hanif Muhammad is not a UND recruit. He appears to be another high school attention-monger though. Kids just throw out names of schools to generate interest from others. Sometimes the recruiting info is flat-out wrong from the recruiting sites and media, other times the school's names get mixed up. Unless there is an alum or family tie to UND or former tie to North Dakota, we do not recruit states like California, Texas or Florida for prep kids anymore. Unless it's a JUCO situation out of necessity, you will not see that from this staff. The proof is in the pudding, it doesn't work. This staff is staying in the upper midwest for recruiting and we are doing great here.
  2. Thanks for the contribution, troll idiot.
  3. Here's reason #1: because you are a fan of UND. Just go to the games. The direction, positivity and upside of the program currently are discussed here ad nauseum and injected into every football thread. Maybe read the football forum more often? Exciting times. See for yourself.
  4. He gone (JIS). Not ideal but not a killer IMO. I still think Holm's ceiling is higher than Sills. Grady dotting I's and crossing T's administratively to get ready for workouts here soon hopefully.
  5. ^^^^^
  6. I'll never understand the degradation and insults toward the accomplishment of winning the national championship at the level we currently play at and hope to eventually win ourselves - Division 1 FCS. I'd certainly take "the best you can hope for" right now.
  7. Good point. Just one of many things he doesn't account for.
  8. Once I saw "Jim Whitehead" in the article, my interest level and expectations went through the floor (Similar to when I see "bison dan"). Just another elitist grad school professor who knows all and better than everyone else and has ZERO understanding on how athletics positively affect the university in a myriad of ways. He either ignores those tangible and intangible variables completely or is simply misinformed. Either way, he stills knows best. And if you don't have a graduate degree or dare I say, an unpublished thesis , your life is over and you are a waste to society. He and his elitist colleageus have no time for imbeciles. He is entitled to his opinion. However, even though he is smarter than everyone else, he is misinformed and/or ignorant regarding college athletics.
  9. Maybe go back and read my original post. Then read it again. Then read the white space between the sentences.
  10. I'd be careful bashing the kid on this one until I knew answers to some questions. I'd ask questions like: how fast did the athletics department administration expedite the process? How did the graduate school application and process play out? Was the ball dropped by either entity at any time? Maybe start with the SWA and go from there? Just spitballin' here...
  11. Someone said it earlier as well.... One of the best, most iconic logos in all of sports....
  12. http://www.kansas.com/sports/college/wichita-state/article86293007.html Maybe this was posted somewhere else already. If so, I apologize.
  13. SFI reported it back in September of 2015 on Twitter... If they were "hearing about a home and home" then they knew who it was with and consequently teased it with the #ThinkOffense hashtag.
  14. Ok, but respectfully....that makes them "football only"? Disagree and debate the differences of opinion all you want, no problem with that. But I submit that the terms "anti-hockey" and "football only" are both stemming from pure emotion and passion at this point. Those terms are like unicorns and leprechauns.
  15. This is patently false. I know from first hand experience. Football players loved the logo and name and took great pride in it. Just because it wasn't prominently displayed on the jerseys doesn't mean we didnt "embrace" it. The word "Sioux" was used in practice, on gameday, during offseason training and in everyday social interactions with great pride by coaches and players alike. We wore shirts that said "Sioux Football" and had the logo on the front. We loved it. Football jerseys and hockey jerseys are different in style in that you rarely see a big logo on the front of a football jersey. There's no room because there is a number on the front. In hockey there is no number in front and primarily there is a logo or name prominently displayed. It is what hockey does - always have at most levels. Typically on football jerseys you see the name of the school or the nickname (in smaller font) above the number. UND football incorporated the logo the best they could with it right below the neck line in the 2000's. They also had the word "Sioux" on the shoulder of the road whites before the jackasses at the NCAA decided to get into the social engineering business. They have always had the ND logo on the helmet for traditional reasons. I agree it would have been awesome to have the logo on the helmet too but the tradition was the ND logo. That logo is now gone as well. So now they are placing the new ND logo on their helmet because quite frankly, they need something to put on there. This notion that football didnt "embrace" the nickname and logo is simply not true.
  16. Again forgive me....but "football only group"? Who are these people? I literally know none.
  17. Like others have said already, put the number on the other side of the helmet opposite of the ND Hawk
  18. So Karl Goehring too then.....Got it....
  19. Interesting....will have to keep my eyes and ears open for that one...
  20. Alums, stakeholders, former athletes.... The people that exercised their ability to vote for the name. I am not a fan of the name either, but it was voted on by those that chose to vote.
  21. Post of the year. Truth and facts. Especially the last sentence.
  22. Can you tell me who you are referring to when talking about "anti-hockey folks"? I can't think of one person on here or otherwise that is "anti-hockey", but I guess I could be wrong. Did hyperbole get the best of you here? I do respect the emotion and passion on the topic, but do not believe that anyone here that is a fan of The University of North Dakota is "anti-hockey".
  23. Sorry for butting in, but I can answer this one.... He's not a UND Hockey or UND Football or UND Basketball or UND Volleyball etc fan... He's a fan of the University of North Dakota. Wish we had more like him.
