  1. Their argument is they have played against college competition. But anyone who watches their games can see that while the colleges may try and win the game they do try and win the game without much hitting and physicality.
  2. I believe they originally had Cagguila slated to come in the following season but with Brock Nelson blowing up his sophomore season like he did and Grimaldi dealing witha serious injury the previous season and being unsure how quickly he would recover they brought Drake in a year earlier than planned.

    Jerseys

Went down a rabbit Hole on the 60th Anniversary BCHL All-Time team. It would be hard to imagine someone having a better Jersey Collection than Campbell Blair Accumulated in his career.
  4. Arizona State has hit the portal and put together a hell of a line with Sillinger and the Jackson brothers. Could have them for 3 years.
  5. I like Herbst. Always have. Pretty good recruiter. I assume they have told him that Dagwood's is closed.
  6. I forget how the Covid/Scholarship dollars work. Do Senden and Hain count against the 18 schollies?
  7. Unfortunately many in our fan base have drifted into the old Gopher fan mentality. It is a combination of arrogance and ignorance that leads them to believe that other college programs only exist so that UND has someone to play against.
  8. Speaking of Mr. Berenson. How long would he have lasted at UND? Took him 7 years to win a conference title. 12 years to win a national title, followed by another2 years later. Then he was coach for 19 years of their current 24 year drought. Won 11 regular season and 10 tournament championships in a weak CCHA/B10 in 37 years.
  9. I would also mention that two of the oldest players to ever play in the WCHA were Steve Debus who was a 25 year old junior and Dan Woog
  10. I used to tell my Gopher buddies, "Congratulations, you have the best team in the country with all your players from 1 state....is there a trophy for that? Maybe hang a banner."
  11. I like Calder. He probably has the best wrist shot on the team and was scoring at a decent pace before the nasty slash he took against Minnesota. I don't think he was anywhere near 100% the rest of the season.
  12. He did show a little offense in his final season in the USHL in Fargo. Also put up some pretty good offensive stats as a freshman. He has played with quite a few offensive minded defenseman while in college..Makar, Del Gaizo, Zac Jones, Kessel, and Morrow so he possibly played the role they needed him in.
  13. They probably won't be stripped of their title but Kansas, Louisville(who was stripped of their 2013 title), Arizona, Memphis, LSU, NC State, and Auburn likely should not have even been eligible to play in NCAA post season. This is what happens when you have a corrupt, morally bankrupt organization like the NCAA investigating their dirty Basketball and Football programs. Even with FBI wiretaps and mountains of evidence they have done nothing now for over a 1000 days because these schools make them money. NCAA-"hey Kansas, your basketball program is corrupt and your coach is slimy and has committed numerous infractions." Kansas-"Noted. Thank you for the heads up. We are going to give him a lifetime contract."
  14. Kansas wins. Entertaining game to watch. Serious question. Will Kansas still be considered the 2022 National Champion in 2025?
  15. Depends what the NCAA sanctions are going to be at LSU. Memphis, Louisville, Kansas, and Arizona are in the crosshairs as well. Name school though so most likely UNC-Charlotte will get probation so everyone learns their lesson.
  16. Is it someone whose team is still playing?
  17. Dryden Mckay committed to Mankato just shy of his 20th birthday and was 21 when he started his college career. Nathan Smith was a 3rd round pick so probably wouldn't be considered a blue chip recruit by those on this board. He was also 21 when he played his first game for the Mavs. Mankato has done a good job at developing older talent. I agree UND needs to find a mix between the BU/Michigan Model and the Minnesota State model.
  18. Barry when talking abut Knies being a Maple Leaf draft pick at beginning of game said that Toronto has been bad for along time(they are going to be in the playoffs for 6th straight season) and that they have trouble scoring(2nd in NHL in scoring).
  19. We don't know how healthy he ever got after the dirty slash against the Gophers. Calder is a shooter and if your wrists aren't 100% it can definitely affect your game. I don't want to compare him to a certain former player who was on the championship team and also wore #16 who was a pretty good sniper and was injured early in his sophomore season, but it took him a while to find his scoring touch when he came back that year.
  20. True. But when Minnesota score their second goal they took their foot off the gas and it cost them. They did flip the switch again after Minnesota tied it and had the Gophers absolutly gassed as end of regulation but the Gophs managed to get to the locker room. Minnesota State today kept sending in two on the forecheck with a 1-0 lead for most of the game. I like that style. Be disciplined but keep trying to score.
  21. Actually based on the rules at the time they did about 3-4 things that were against the rules in place and it was still questionable at best.
  22. Maybe we weren't Rizzo's number 1 choice? I remember when we were recruiting Jason Gregoire and we told him we wanted to bring him to UND in 08-09 and Denver said they would bring him to campus in 07-08 so he committed to Denver even though UND was where he preferred to go. Then Denver told him they wanted him to play an extra year of Juniors and arrive on campus in 08-09. Since now since the circumstances were the same Gregoire flipped back to UND.
  23. Talked to Barry Melrose the next morning as he was enjoying a Cigar on the bench outside of the Embassy Suites as we were heading to the Twins game and he said something along the lines of tough loss, Michigan played the whole game not to lose and got away with it, and if they played 20 times Michigan would be lucky to win twice and unfortunately for you guys once was last night.
  24. They played earlier in the year. WMU beat them at Michigan and Michigan won at Kalamazoo with a little help from the men in stripes.
  25. Should be pretty straight forward. Do they swap Notre Dame and SCSU or do they swap SCSU and UMass? If they swap SCSU and UMass does that then become the Worcester Regional and the Worcester Regional become the Albany Regional or even the Allentown Regional if Michigan wants Albany?
