  1. True. But do you see anyway that team wins more than 7 games....not taking anything away from NDSU at all. Beating any FBS team on the road is impressive. We will see how the Kansas State season plays out before we can say for sure if this win supplants the Central Michigan win as their most impressive FBS victory. On Bohl losing 3 out of 4 their while at Nebraska.....considering K-State has beat Nebraska 15 times in 95 games that might have been a contributing factor in why Bohl was let go at Nebraska.
  2. I think the Big 12 coaches poll has K-State pegged pretty accurately in picking them 6th. Don't think the 6th best team in Big 12 will crack the top 25. They have La-Lafayette and Umass the next 2 weeks which should get them to 2-1. At Texas, at OSU, and Baylor at home will drop them to 2-4. A horrible West Virginia team and aweful Iowa State team are next and lifts them to 4-4. At Texas Tech is probably their make or break game as far as making a bowl. Give them a win and they are 5-4 before losses to TCU and OU which puts them at 5-6 heading into their rivalry game at Kansas which should lift them to 6-6 and get them into a crappy bowl game somewhere.

    SDSU at UND

Unfortunately, it is the same. I went to the Valpo game and was hoping to see major changes in our defense.....I did not.
  4. K-State will be nowhere near the top 25 at end of season. The will be 6-6, maybe 7-5, finish 6th or 7th in the conference...go to a lower level bowl game. A very average FBS team this season....NDSU beat them because they controlled the pace and NDSU's starters are as good or better than Kansas State's starters.

If we can hold Zenner under 250 and score 38 we got a shot against the Jacks.
  6. Correct. Plus it was a west coast game so ESPN will give the score and a quick mention while NDSU got a lot of hype last night and today(Gameday)
  7. Ummm. Maybe just be loud and stick to just making noise....you start spouting out jibberish and people might think you are a little off?
  8. Because they were done with College. I have lived in Fargo for about 20 years now, From Bismarck originally and lived in Grand Forks for 6 years....All are good cities in their own way, but only 1 of them would I consider a "College Town" and that is Grand Forks. Fargo is a cool city that has a University while Grand Forks revolves around the Univeristy.
  9. Thanks Dave......................I had forgotten how little you know about hockey.
  10. Umm. What about me? Sincerely, Bob Probert
  11. It is hard to know what will happen at Southern Mississippi now that Eustachy has left for Colorado as he is an elite basketball coach.
  12. The Hawks were terrible last night and yet if not for the incredibly brutal play(s) by Bolland the teams might still be playing all knotted up at 0-0.

    Shirvani

Whoever was responsible for this hire should be gone as well. I would imagine they vet the portential candidates and do a thorough background check when they look at hiring for this position.....sad thing is a simple google search could have avoided the trouble and embarrassment.
  14. Bad example to use Notre Dame.....while it's true they gave a player the boot for acedemic reasons, rape is actually acceptable in their program. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/17/notre-dame-lizzy-seeberg-suicide_n_2499256.html
  15. Plus a goal that the refs didn't count.
  16. Whoa, whoa, whoa.... throttle back a bit.....I don't think any kid is going to make his decision about whether to come to UND or not go to UND based upon something a guy who likes to pretend he is Jon Gruden on siouxsports.com says about his mechanics.
  17. -3 actually. Oshie was on the ice for the last 6 goals of the game, One of Oshie's goals was on the power play so no + on that one.
  18. Unfortunately, Oshie and his linemates Perron and Berglund have been out for all 4 Kings goals tonight.
  19. I think if you are a kid coming out of high school that is probably looking at 2 years of juniors before college you need to look at what is best for your development. I think a kid is better off playing 1st line minutes and getting power play time and penalty kill time in the NAHL than being the 10th-14th forward in the USHL. I think over the last couple years, kids are figuring that out and that is why I think the NAHL has improved quite a bit.
  20. Both the USHL and NAHL are good leagues, but the USHL talent level is clearly superior. Both leagues serve a purpose. Fargo let 2 kids(Pohlkamp and Dzahkof) go to Bismarck since they were not getting quality ice time and playing time for Fargo and now they are probably the top 2 guys for Bismarck.....my friends nephew had a chance to play with the Force a couple years ago coming out of high school as an undersized defensemen. For Fargo that year he would have been their 6th or 7th Dman so he went to Aberdeen and was in their first d pairing, skated on the power play and the power play kill and then played for Fargo last year and was their 2nd best Dman behind Cooper and he ended up playing a regular shift for Miami this year as a freshmen.
  21. My main basis for comparison is watching UND and other WCHA teams so am a little spoiled with guys that sometimes go right to NHL or AHL from college....where I think the big difference in speed and especially consistency is the 3rd and 4th line guys in the ECHL who would be 1st and 2nd line guys at most colleges and especially on the back end with how the defensemen and forwards attack the puck carriers and also how quickly they move the puck. Overall I would say they are a step, maybe a step and 1/2 quicker.
  22. Yes. They are great. Went to several Florida Everblades games over the years when visiting my brother in Naples....Nice arena....if the dominos ever start flipping and college hockey starts adding teams look for Florida Gulf Coast University to take a look at it....yes the same school that made a splash in NCAA basketball this season....they have fielded 2 club teams for years with quite a bit of success.
  23. I have been to quite a few ECHL games over the last 7 or 8 years and I would have to agree. While some of the name hockey schools like UND, U of M, BC, Michigan, etc. might have a line or 2 with more top end talent than the top lines in the ECHL, it is made up for in maturity and the 3rd and 4th lines in the ECHL are going to feature a lot crisper passing and quicker decision making and the D-men is in my opinion where it really seperates with the consistency of accurate breakout passes. I think Mario is benefitting from being on the ice with players who are more mature and developed fundamentally and Mario isn't afraid to stick his nose in the tough areas.
