  1. I think Bubba is a hell of a defensive coach and all, but who does he bring in as a recruiter/assistant coach? I know a couple guys who had him their living room back when he was at UND and to put it nicely, it was awkward according to them.
  2. Completely different pool depending upon the coach who is hired. We are hiring a head coach, then they will put together their staff so until the head coach is hired it is pretty much pointless for people in this thread to continue saying I want this guy as OC or this guy as DC....No one applied for those jobs because they aren't posted right now. Sorry for the mini rant, just trying to shut down this thread drift before it gets worse.
  3. I agree. Not saying that we automatically hire him but if he applies it would be foolish not to interview him. Remember Faison has no prior attachment to him or his family so let Brooks try and sell himself on why he should be the next coach here.
  4. On another note....Coaches have had buyers remorse before in these situations and if I am the Wyoming AD I would have serious reservations about having Bohl finish out the season in Fargo and around the program for another month....emotions do sometimes come into play vs. money and I don't know that I would want to give my new coaching hire a month to change his mind.
  5. Correct. Just like the reality is starting to settle in with Bison fans that a coach like Kliemann and possibly even Vigen would rather be the DC and OC at Wyoming than the head coach in Fargo.....UND fans need to realize that the quality of applicants in a nationwide search for the Bison job will be vastly superior in quality to the applicants for the UND job. While I would be happy with any of the 3 Coaches you mentioned for the UND job I don't know that any of those 3 would seriously even be in the mix for the NDSU job.....It is what it is right now.
  6. I think Taylor is in a tough spot. Ideally in this situation you would want to go Bo Schembechler on the bit and tell Coach Bohl good luck in Wyoming and you appoint Vigen or Kliemann as interim coach for the rest of the season with the idea that one of them or both of them is going to be strongly considered as the next head coach at NDSU.....but if the rumors are true and they are going with him that certainly changes the dynamic and then you might have to bite the bullet and let Bohl and his staff finish out the season. I seem to recall situations in the past where a coach who was leaving continued on and coached a bowl game while the new coach had already been named.
  7. That may be the silver lining for NDSU if there is one in losing a great football coach like Bohl. If he had went to Minnesota or Nebraska or other big name school in the Midwest, Kliemann would have probably went with him.....Wyoming might not be as desirable for him vs. being head coach at NDSU.
  8. web feed is a joke. reminds me of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLsDvGlIDh0
  9. Looks like the Concordia-St. Paul coach should definitely get a call. The UMD coach would probably be call #2. Looks like both have very able assistants on their staff as well. This led me to look at the ridiculousness of the NCAA once again. The D2 women's volleyball tournament is down to the final 16 right now and their regionalization of the tourney is laughable and sad at the same time. In the regional being held in Duluth you have #1 seed and 2nd ranked UMD playing #4 seed and 7th ranked SW Minnesota St. and #2 seed and 5th ranked Central Missouri playing #3 seed and 3rd ranked and 6 time defending champion Concordia St. Paul....tough bracket
  10. Umm. Chapman used to be the President of the college you root for. This is like the biggest black pot in the world calling a kettle black. The gFU thing must be cute on bisonville....if I remember it was the rinky dink summit league that brought that on.
  11. True, but I am assuming he left the parking lot, drove to the airport, flew back to Grand Forks....so no field sobriety tests or breathalyzer were administered so I doubt UND would have the proof needed to prove he was "drunk". My initial guess seems to be pretty accurate. Probably out drinking, gets 4-5 hours of sleep, wakes up late...at best hungover, at worst still drunk---either way still likely impaired and should not be behind the wheel.
  12. Definitely raises a couple questions/concerns. I am assuming that Coaches that drive University vehicles and/or rental vehicles have to be insured. I would assume they have copies of Coaches drivers licenses and insurance cards on file somewhere? Now, how often insurance companies are checking the validity of these is anybody's guess but I would think that if a coach gets a moving violation or any traffic offense if would be on them to report this to the University who in turn would report to their insurance company.
  13. You might be right on this. On the GF Herald chat today, one of the writers made mention that this incident triggered an internal review....so there may have been other issues in play and it is possible that alcohol may not have been a factor?
  14. My guess would be he was probably out drinking the night before which certainly isn't a crime, but still having alcohol in your system the next morning and driving certainly is and having your athletes in the vehicle multiplies it. Like I said, just my guess. But if I was a parent I would be pretty pi$$ed off. You send your daughter to college and hope you have taught them what they need to know to get by at school and you somewhat entrust part of their well being with the coach and staff who recruited them. One of the main things every parent tries to instill in their kid is do not drink and drive and do not get in a vehicle with someone who has been drinking. If this is what happened it is inexcusable.
  15. As opposed to fighting in the bar which it seems the other guy wanted to do. You guys are stretching a bit trying to compare the 2 SCSU players with Travis Beck. did Beck screw up? sure. Should he have been suspended a game? probably.....but seriously, the Travis Beck thing is old news, it was handled(poorly) but by the news accounts is quite a different situation than what went down in St. Cloud.
  16. Do we know if Pflugrad has also applied at Weber State?
  17. Sure they could, but he could always go Bresciani on the bit and Hillary Clinton all that info.
  18. 1 correction to this. NDSU is actually 13-13-1 vs. UND since moving to D1 and UND is 12-13-1 against NDSU since moving to D1. They did play Baseball in 2005 as UND(D2) traveled to Fargo and smoked NDSU 6-0 and then NDSU cancelled their scheduled return trip to Grand Forks which led to the brief stoppage in the baseball series.
  19. So with a 5 year headstart and UND in it's second year of post season eligibility NDSU is a game up. Got it! Thank you now.
