Ha! Back in the 80"s and 90's when Nebraska was favored big you would bet on them to cover on the road and not at home since they could only travel with 60 or 65 guys and they were all better than some of the teams they were playing but at home they had a 100+ dressed.

I believe the Big 10 strongly suggested they re-evaluate their scheduling practices.

Corvallis has some of the worst facilities and is probably the toughest place to recruit too of any P5 Conference. In a poll of the P5 conference football coaches, Riley is rated as the most underrated coach in college football and in a poll of all FBS school coaches he is ranked 2nd. I was underwhelmed but an starting to warm up to the hire. Pelini is gone for being a jackass and for having his team unprepared to play too many times. I think he would still have his job even if he went 10-3 or 9-4 every year if he had a personality and lost to Wisconsin 21-17 or 24-20 and didn' routinely have his unprepared teams get half a hundo hung on them.

They cancelled out of a home and home with North Carolina because they were too tough and wanted out of the TCU game as well.

If Nebraska offered Kill the job, Jerry would be at the airport before Eichorst hung up the phone....3 or 4 times the money in a place that costs 20% less to live. Not to mention the programs. I realize Nebraska isn't what they were in the 90's but the resources and commitment to be are in place, just tougher to get that type of talent to Lincoln these days...but who wouldn't rather coach at a school where winning the Big 10 and competing occasionally for a National title are the goals versus beating 4 powder puffs and then hopefully winning 3 or 4 big 10 games so we can go somewhere warm for bowl season.

I think the main reason Bielema left Wisconsin was due to the size of his assistant coaches salary pool and he wasn't able to get any or keep high profile asssitants.

Bielema is either interested and deflecting or it is his agent trying to get him and his staff a raise at Arkansas.

That is definitely part of it....but also a guy can take advantage of known injuries as well. If a guy knows you have a wrist injury he can shade you a certain way or know which way to pull a faceoff or if you have a known leg injury he would know which way to attack you in a 1 on 1.

I am just saying that Florida State is elevated to where they are currently in large part due to last season. If I was the committee there is no way I leave out an undefeated and defending national champion so I am not saying that. But year to year, teams get a jump start in the rankings and the perception of the committee based upon prior seasons......even though every coach will tell you that every season is different.

If Florida State wasn't defending national champions they would not be in the mix. They would be behind Ohio State and Baylor as well. TCU and Baylor are the co-champions of the Big 12 which turned out to be the toughest conference this season just slightly ahead of the SEC while the ACC was a distant 5th finishing even behind the Big 10.

Well the Osieki left Wisconsin so Jordan opened up his recruitment again and Gregiore, all things equal was going to go to UND but DU was going to bring him in a year earlier than we were.....Gwoz pushed him back a year and he changed his mind and went to UND......so it's not like UND recruited committed players. That said, I don't have a problem recruiting verbals when they are 16-17. We haven't but I wouldn't mind if we did.

The Park District was able to get land there. Due to the annual flooding of Mickelson Fields and the dike being expanded there, fastpitch needed something to happen sooner than later. I am sure some development will take place up there. if I had the money I would put up a strip mall with a liquor store, convenience store, and a pub and maybe a quick serve restaurant or two. ideally the use of the Park Districts land on the south side of town may have been preferable, but it is also an area that floods quite a bit and with the unknown diversion plans it made it too much of an unknown. The lagoons up north are only used during pretty serious flooding so hopefully smell won't be much of an issue. 4 fastpitch fields and 9 slowpitch fields will be ready for the 2016 season. Fargo Slowpitch will be moving out of lindenwood and off school diamonds at that time so basically trading 11 fields for 9 lit fields....eventually the 4 fields by Fargo South will be "traded" out for an additional 5 diamond wheel up north and also the west end of the Anderson complex(4 diamonds) will also be "traded" out for an additional 5 diamond wheel up north. There is room for a 4th 5 diamond wheel up north and the use of those is slated for fastpitch if the participation continues to grow. This will turn all the fields in town back to youth programs as with all the helicopter parents these days most parents want their kids games and practices at night instead of during the day. Fargo has landed the 2015 ASA National Class D tourney which will be at Anderson, but the potential for national youth fastpitch tournies is a good thing for Fargo.....I will let you do the math on the economic impact having 80-120 girls fastpitch teams in town for a week with their moms, dads, siblings, grandparents etc.

Was down there a couple weeks ago. Homecoming weekend at ASU, Mill Ave. was jumping! Saw ASU beat Utah in overtime.

Best road trip of the year for me. Have met some great fans(friends) from St. Cloud. Always a good time there.

why am I surprised that this idiot doesn't know anything about college football either? I was telling my buddy who is a gopher fan that so far this year in college hockey that the NCHC is similar to the SEC in football while the Big 10 is like....well......like the big 10
