This was part of the reason that UND and DU looked to form the NCHC because they had lost the voting block in the WCHA with Wisconsin and Minnesota leaving. There are other financial factors in a league besides scholarship commitment such as advertising, marketing, league staff salaries, etc......so you can close the window.

I agree.....but it would keep the Big 12 out of that television market on the East Coast because the Big 12 will take UConn if they don't.. And Notre Dame has been marginalized by the new NCAA playoff football format so remaining independent does nothing for them anymore.

Since we are speculating. I am going to go on a limb and say that the Big 10 will add UConn for hockey and an announcement that Notre Dame and UConn will be joining the Big 10 in all sports.

Had a friend, who shall remain nameless, who in 2014 ended up closing the Seville Club on Saturday night. Stumbled outside and dove into a cab. Told the cab his hotel and the cabbie drove up the street about 1/2 a block and did a U-turn and drove back down the street about a 1/2 block and dropped him at the front door. $5 ride and he lost his phone during the ride. Good thing all his cash was gone and he had to use a credit card for the cab since this helped him track down his phone.

Good news for SDSU, they got over seeded by a couple spots. Bad news for SDSU, Maryland, got under seeded by at least 1 spot.... and on talent and not record...more like 3 spots. Good news for SDSU. Maryland probably more than any team in the country is prone to play down to their level of competition. Bad news for SDSU, your best player will have to deal with 3 guys in Stone, Carter, and Dodd who are all more talented and a 7 footer.

brutal. hang tough Coach Jones. For awhile during his first year back, Bubba was wearing the ugliest looking jacket I have ever seen from Addidas. It looked like a Zubaz design. Embarrassing I am all for an athletic department wide apparel/shoe deal as long as it is Under Armour or Nike and if hockey doesn't want to go that way I am fine with that but we shouldn't force the Addidas crap on everyone else just because hockey is Reebok.

I agree that he will play for a living. I just think he will probably do so in Europe. If he was 6-4 it would be a different story.

Heard many stories from some of my coaches about playing amateur ball with him after he disappeared on the Chicago Bulls. When they would play in Fargo they would call the Jamestown Mental Hospital and get him out for the weekend. When they would get about 6-7 miles out of Fargo they would let him out and he would run the rest of the way and meet them at whatever Gym they were playing at. Ekalaka, Montana used to have a big money tournament in the summer which drew amatuers and pros in the summer time since pros didn't make as much money back then and they talked about the time he dropped 37 on Michael Ray Richardson who was one of the best defenders in the NBA.

I was 21 years old and he was I suppose 37 and he hammered the crap out of me first time I went to the hole and I butchered him on the other end and chirped him a little bit which woke him up and changed his mode from getting in some exercise to showing up some punk(me). He was wearing Cargo Shorts, a t-shirt with a pocket and some sort of hiking boots. It was classic!

Well 7 or 8 on each side waiting to play "next". Although I do remember getting absolutely lit up by what I thought was a homeless guy one Saturday and after we lost I was taking off my shoes because I was "done" and my friend PJ says "where are you going" and I said "I don't have it today, I just got schooled by a homeless guy who just wandered into the gym" and he says "Yeah, he looks a little rugged but that is Cavin Andersen"

Ha. good point. My original post was regarding the minimum expectations that should be met to even think about extending Coach Jones's contract.

We beat Idaho State by 8 on the road and the final score was much closer than the game was. We beat them easily in Grand Forks by 16 and in coast mode for most of the game. They finished 1 game ahead of us in the standings while having the benefit of 4 games against S. Utah and NAU vs. our 2 road games with those teams and no home games against them. Yes, I think we should win that game and do so comfortably.
