  1. Even if you just skimmed the email as he said he did.......you still respond for chrissakes, even it is something like "Thank you for the kind words" or "Thank you for the email".....it is common courtesy to let the sender know you received it.....especially from a former student athlete. I would actually expect him to respond and ask how the former student athlete is doing in his professional career....but that would apparently be above and beyond the call.
  2. Kirby's! The Corner that rocked in Moorhead.
  3. Forwards Evgeny Kuznetsov Alex Ovechkin Jaromir Jagr Vladimir Tarasenko David Backes Anze Kopitar Defence John Carlson Kevin Shattenkirk Alex Pietrangelo Drew Doughty Goalie Braden Holtby
  4. I think a good place to start with budget cuts would be to bring in these guys and line up interviews with anyone with V.P. in their title, a title that sounds made up, or any job that any one of reasonable intelligence would question the need for. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StIcRH_e6zQ
  5. I think Keaton is in a catch 22, he came in a year early but Anaheim really likes him and they run the risk of him becoming a free agent and losing his rights if he stays.
  6. Berry said he has already met with all the guys with options to leave. From what he said or didn't say I would guess LaDue and Stecher are gone, Schmaltz, Thompson, and Poolman are all 50/50 and Luke, Ausmus, and Poganski are all coming back along with Boeser of course.
  7. Interesting as Bubba was in Fargo today and said Luke's MRI was this afternoon at which time they will determine if he needs surgery, rehab or both?
  8. Derek Forbort is the only one I can think of.
  9. Tomek just sat out a year so if he transferred he would be out another year unless he went back to juniors.
  10. Not sure I agree with Boeser/Schmaltz take. I think Boeser has a more dynamic game and he was certainly able to be dominate against college players as was Nick. The difference I saw between them that would tell me that Nick is slightly ahead at this point was how their respective games translated against elite players at the World Juniors this year and I think Nick certainly looked more comfortable in that setting against elite players as Brock sometimes had trouble finding open space and getting his shot off. Just my opinion and I think that staying would not hurt either one of them. If Stecher gets a max contract offer as a free agent it is probably in his best interest to sign now and I would wish him the best as he has gave UND everything he has for 3 years. For the drafted guys, Keaton, Poolman, and Ausmus it really comes down to how much the teams with their draft rights value them and the relationships they have with them currently and if they are worried about them going the free agent route. All 3 would definitely benefit from another year of college. Of the 3 I would guess that poolman is the biggest flight risk due to age and Keaton should stay partially due to his young age.
  11. Average goals per game by conference Big 10---7.1 Atlantic--5.6 ECAC---5.1 HE---5.5 NCHC---5.7 WCHA--5.0 Michigan scored 5.4 goals per game in Big 10 play and 4.1 goals per game outside of Big 10 play. Minnesota scored 3.8 goals per game in Big 10 play and 2.9 goals per game outside of Big 10 play.
  12. If I have time I will run the numbers again, but off the top of my head there was 1.5 more goals per game in big 10 games compared to the rest of the country so that is 4.5 gravy points a game for the taking.
  13. Brock Boeser ‏@BBoeser16 3m3 minutes ago I am looking forward to coming back to UND for my Soph season to defend our NCAA National Championship!
  14. Yuck. Only thing worse would be if they went to Pittsburgh. I was hoping the fact that they have Boeser's rights would make him consider staying and going the free agent route.
  15. Dude. If you are getting schooled by Darrell it might be time to sit this one out or at least take a lap.....Christ, that has to be embarrassing.
  16. Maybe they grabbed a different flight. Schlossman had reported that him and Tomek were ill and did not fly with the team on the charter?
  17. It's like a watered down version of a watered down beer.
  18. Bring my friend here a Chocolate Choo Choo with an umbrella and tell the waitress not to giggle this time. #girldrinkdrunk
  19. Other than Dell in 2011 and Zane in 2014....no. Lamoreuax, Parise, and Zane all had their worst games of the season and in a couple cases of their careers.
  20. And he is 22 and about to be 23. I would love to jump on the Gopher bashing pile here but this actually looks to be a case where a kid is making the best decision for himself and his future.
  21. Well. Baseball is more of a thinking man's endeavor.
  22. This is a big story. And all of the players that had the opportunity to work out in front of all the NFL personnel yesterday(I heard some didn't make it due to weather and flight issues) can thank Carson as he could have held a pro day where he is working out since he had already been to the combine. Normally if 1 or 2 players at a school like NDSU have some NFL interest you would see maybe 5 or 6 teams show up and a few other guys get an opportunity to get their numbers and measurables on paper. I haven't seen Will's numbers from yesterday but I know he had some pretty solid numbers when he worked out at Minnesota's pro day. If you think Will should have had more publicity then maybe GF should have sent more media. This is Carson's showcase and he has been pretty gracious and handled it all pretty humbly. I wish the kid nothing but the best and can't believe the nitpicking over this. The people that matter got to see Will in person and that is a benefit to him.
