  1. I like the way this team is playing right now. I have not wavered from what I said prior to the season. I do not care where the media picked us and I do not care where the coaches picked us. Anything less than top 4 in regular season and/or Big Sky tournament and it is time to make a change. It's his program to own and he has had 10 years to build it so I don't care for excuses regarding youth and inexperience because that is part of the job requirement and recruiting philosophy. I hope we continue playing well and get an NCAA berth by winning the Big sky tourney this year or making a serious run at it as I am pretty sure there are quite a few coaches who would like to take over this team next year assuming no one leaves if we did make a coaching move.
  2. I have 2 tickets in section 106 for Saturday night. Tickets are in Fargo. $100 for the pair or best offer. 701-238-7384-Mike
  3. He is the master of saying he is going to attack an issue, then creates a straw man argument similar to the issue but not necessarily the same and then trashing the issue he created himself.
  4. Correct. Having University leaders who are out of touch with the real world and the concept that things cost money, who ignore budgets, who make choices that aren't theirs to make doesn't help. I have always been pro higher ed but the arrogance and lack of accountability over the years from the University system has worn me down a bit.
  5. I think St. Cloud is the team to beat this year in the NCHC. Especially as we move into the grind of the late season and playoffs. They are far better than UND in the faceoff circle which gives them an advantage in that we both like to possess the puck. As the season goes on 5 on 5 goals get tougher and tougher to come by. I feel our power play is starting to click but theirs is lights out. Our penalty kill is quite a bit better than theirs percentage wise but they take far less penalties than we do.
  6. Settle down sport, you have no say on the matter. #superalum #superdonor #superfan Do you even attend UND sporting events?
  7. I don't mind Taco Shoppe....it ain't the Pepper but the Chicken Grinder is pretty damn good.
  8. Hockey is an interesting community, If NDSU had made the move when they should have, they could have gotten someone like a Gino Gasparini to jump start their program. Even now there are some respected names out there that give instant credibility and could get them off to a running start. could you imagine someone like Gwozdecky coaching in Fargo.
  9. Good kid, good family and a North Dakota kid. I would hope all North Dakotans would be proud of wherever Carson's future takes him. I don't recall Bison fans having negative things to say about Weston Dressler. And not to limit it to just North Dakota kids but others who have played for the programs who have moved on to professional football.
  10. Well I might feel dirty sticking up for a Bison fan here, but just speaking for myself and the company I work for, NDSU winning these last 5 years has jumpstarted our January in an industry that is usually very slow at this time of year so my boss is happy and that makes for a little less stress around the office so that makes me....maybe not happy but at least conflicted. Believe me, just once I would like to not have to send back the T-shirts and Hoods and other apparel we order in and have on hand for "IF-THEN" orders when UND has been at the Frozen 4. There is a definite economic impact for companies like mine and the retailers we sell to who turn around and sell to the general public.
  11. Maybe on message boards but not in the community in general. As someone who lives in Fargo and spends a lot of time in Grand Forks I have noticed that in General people in Grand Forks for the most part don't give a !@#$ about NDSU or go out of their way to comment on or disparage NDSU....for example when someone walks into a restaurant or bar in Grand Forks and is wearing a NDSU logoed hat or pullover they can pretty much expect no comments or acknowledgement of their clothing choice(people working and serving them might unconsciously speak slower and take more time explaining things to them, but no aggressive comments) vs. someone(myself) for example. I can't remember the last time I entered a bar or restaurant in Fargo while wearing UND apparel when I didn't have some mouth breathing Beavis make some comment.
  12. Par for the course. But at the end of the day, people need to hold idiots accountable with their pocketbook. I know that there are many UND alum in prominent positions at a great number of Fargo/Moorhead businesses. Pull advertising for awhile from these companies like KVRR who choose to employ a complete moron and Midwest communications for this type of crap. That can be controlled and a message sent. As far as the regular Bison fans who are still obsessed with everything UND and lash out at their "non-rival"....just give them a pat on the head and tell them nice job as they really just want their Big Brother's approval. Even after 5 consecutive titles Jan(NDSU) is still Jan and Marcia(UND) is still Marcia.
  13. The machines are running....at least my boss is happy.
  14. How many times are you going to bring up this ridiculous apples and oranges argument.
  15. I agree and it has a little to do with party politics. Hopefully a miracle happens and he doesn't get the nod at the Republican convention as he is too far left.....if he does I guess I could just not vote for Governor this time. Had to leave the US Senate race open in the last general(Berg v Heidi).
  16. Same league. What do you mean didn't work for Brady Murray? completely different situations. Brady went after his sophomore season as he was not a likely NHL prospect and Switzerland was changing their league definition of an import player. Despite having dual USA/Canada citizenship a team signing Brady did not have to count him as an import player since he was born to his Canadian father and mother while his father coached in Switzerland. He played 8 seasons in the Swiss A league. Mathews I believe tried to accelerate his education to be able to have the options of playing major juniors or going the college route. He was completely dominant in the 18 and under worlds last year but still ineligible foe the NHL draft due to his age so he chose to play and get paid in Switzerland this season and he will likely play for whatever team drafts him in the NHL next season.
  17. Yeah. Like in Marquette.....oh, wait it's been 20+ years and that still hasn't happened. I have seen some items with the name on it....I might actually be convinced to buy some merchandise if it is F'N Hawks though. Ladies and Gentlemen, here come The F'N Hawks or Those F'N Hawks.
  18. Save the season? Take a lap.
  19. Shanks has pretty good footwork but he is a bit of a black hole once he gets the ball......but I don't put that all on him. Our perimeter guys tend to stay in the same spot when the ball goes into him like they know it's not coming back. They need to move so that when their defender turns his head or hedges towards helping out down low that they have to find our guy again. i.e, if you made the entry from the wing, slide to the corner or if it is a high entry both our wings should slide over a spot.
