  1. Pinto looked like the real deal. He is already doing subtle moves to create more room for himself and the puck. Its going to be fun watching him progress. He looks like he could be a dominant player. Also, shout out to the crowd last night. Atmosphere was better than a few NC games last year.
  2. If you're center ice, you got a deal
  3. I'd be happy to move from my end of the rink to center ice. Not even because I think it's a huge upgrade but for the added advantage of having our student section right on top of the opposing goalie for 2 periods. Imagine an opposing goalie getting heckled like they do to the guys in the penalty box, it would be a nightmare for a goalie. That'd be a very minor inconvenience for the people that prefer to sit on the ends and provide an even bigger home ice advantage IMO. I think of Alfond Arena as an example.
  4. So much truth in this ^
  5. Just recruit more Frattins and Caggiulas, why didn't anyone think of that?!
  6. Shrink Tank giving away a knock off jersey on facebook
  7. Very cool moment, especially his teammates holding him up at the end of the series to do the senior skate while he was in a boot. However, I remember thinking I would have gave the Penrose away to have him in the lineup for the NCAAs.
  8. Big penalty kill, breakaway or after a goal. The whole crowd joining in on "Here's Your University of North Dakota SCORRRRRRRRRRRINGG!" never gets old. I remember one of the most electric atmospheres being when Mark MacMillan blocked consecutive shots vs SCSU that broke his leg/ended his season but secured the Penrose for us, but I digress.
  9. It's pretty impressive
  10. I'm not sure but I'm guessing left since it looked like the entire end on the right side of your computer screen were taken. I'm assuming that was for student sections. We got our tickets on the left end.
  11. Their football program winning 7 national championships in 8 years might help a bit...
  12. Thanks for the heads up, may be trying to move our thanksgiving down to my sister's place in Mpls so the whole family can go.
  13. In my brief time on this Earth I've learned a few universal truths. One of them being that there is an inverse correlation between the amount of ellipses used and level headed, rational thought.
  14. The only thing you need to be sorry for is burying this team's season before it even begins based on a preseason poll that are largely based of the previous year's performances.
  15. Be fun to see him mix it up with his former teammates at The Ralph, wonder if there's any animosity there as it sounds like they were not pleased that he didn't stick around for a 4th season.
  16. This x1000 needs to be said. If you want an unobstructed view for 100% of the game watch the TV... or the new and improved scoreboard!
  17. They also must really want the student section to look even emptier than last year. Who cares if non-students take over the student section? If students don't show up, let's still give us a chance to fill the arena. Maybe I'm overreacting, but this decision really pisses me off.
  18. That wouldn't even make a top 20 list of the daily mistakes I see on their website. Plus they couldn't afford me
  19. I actually think the Herald was way too slow at instituting the pay wall. Now they have done it too late and for too high a rate rather than slowly ramping it up and attracting better writers with the additional revenue. Here's how I see the conundrum at GFH. 1. They needs better writing(outside of a few exceptions) 2. To get better writing they need to pay more competitively 3. To pay more competitively to attract quality writers they need to increase revenue 3. To justify a pay wall to increase revenue, they need better writers
  20. You know hawks carried diseases that passed along to Native Americans... you can draw a line to connect anything to make a ridiculous argument. This is so absolutely insane to me that I have to remind myself multiple times while reading that article that it's not satire. I'd love nothing more than to sit down in front of one of these people and explain to me with a straight face how this even approaches a rational thought.
