  1. Boy that makes me really happy he left early, great move šŸ˜†
  2. A true murderer's row of alumni in coaching positions with JPL being added to "coach" the goalies
  3. Gonna need someone more qualified than myself to answer that one
  4. Stayed in Belfast a few blocks from this arena last month. It’d be a pretty awesome place to go to a Sioux game. Then to use this game as a jumping off point to a Northern Ireland or Ireland trip. Very excited
  5. It was a cool routing but the flooding was becoming an issue every year, not financially sustainable and it was in really bad shape the last few years.
  6. There was actually a few years where they had the greens rolling really nicely. I think it's slowed down a bit since though, that was a few years ago.
  7. I love drivable par 4's, nothing better if it's got some good strategy. Throw a boomerang green on one of the holes at RR, this one at Sand Valley is a blast. Played it 4 times and still trying to figure out the best approach.
  8. Have any UND golfers actually set foot on Ray Dicks? I've only ever seen them at King's Walk. Can't imagine playing a sloppy 9 hole course gets them ready for their tournaments all over the country.
  9. A positive of the Fox broadcasts were the drone shots, they presented Pebble Beach differently than anyone ever had before. I never understood how the course flowed until I saw that broadcast. It was almost jarring to take a drone down 17 to 18's tee and up the coast. It was like "Oh yeah I suppose 17 green and 18 are really close to each other and it's not a video game where every hole is it's own entity". Then I got to play Pebble and really experience the aura
  10. Kinda like Grand Junction except they reversed the order you order and the sandwiches aren't as good(at least mine wasn't). One thing that hasn't changed though is the wait time, still as long as ever. I'll chalk it up to a new restaurant finding their footing and give them another shot though.
  11. Why does it need to remain a par 36? If you're referring to you don't want it to be a par 3 course I'll get on board but not concerned if it ends up being a par 34 or 35. I am on board though with the top golf set up though, I'm assuming that means we'd be able to hit some golf balls outside in the winterish months. That would be awesome.
  12. They can nuke 'Playing Through' commercials into the sun. I'd rather have commercials and be caught up when we return from break. Agreed, CBS is the top of the heap for production.
  13. As soon as they got rid of the game room. My deposits into that ninja turtles game probably paid for rent every month.
  14. You just provided an alternate routing. I'm talking about re-shaping some greens, reconfigure bunkers, fix the damn drainage. It's been done successfully at many other locations(SEE: Winter Park 9). Make the course actually enjoyable for multiple levels of players. I can't imagine playing 8 and 9 in its current form as anything above a 15 handicap. It's not a good course.
  15. Evasive is a great way to describe it
  16. While they're re-routing it'd be cool to get a course designer in there to add a little flare to the course. Liven up the course with some template designs. I'm not asking for Tom Doak but maybe a young local-ish guy that wants to make a name for himself.
  17. It was quite the accomplishment to bring a prominent college hockey coach on your podcast, ask him for his stance on the regional sites, then when pressed on the details of your side you <gesture vaguely at the past> and say I've brought these points up so many times before. I'm not sure he could be more unlikeable if he tried(maybe that's the play for engagement). Truly an old man shaking his fist at a cloud.
  18. Didn’t Carle do this once before? Wodon just a glutton for getting his ass handed to him repeatedly on this topic?
  19. I think the assumption is he'd be able to get as open in the NCHC as he did in the CCHA to get as many shots. I just pictured he'd be more of a Carter Wilkie. And I'm not knocking that, he'd be a great 3rd liner on our team but not top 6 material.
  20. But he didn’t make this decision 2 weeks ago… and also any mention of the coaching change is absent from his statement. Just went back because MTU is ā€œspecialā€. The coaching change gave him the opening to transfer back once he found out he’d likely be 3rd line. Not blaming him, just my opinion.
  21. Funny how he wasn't interested in doing that back in April
  22. My thoughts as well, have we seen someone come from the CCHA to NCHC and light it up? They're usually decent depth, two-way forwards. I think all of our perspectives have shifted a bit when we saw what Chyzyk is able to bring to this program on the recruiting trails.
  23. What was everyone so high on Gordon about? I just trusted there was other factors because his stats dropped off significantly. Was he playing injured last season because he went from 18G 18A to 7G 19A? A nice player for sure but assuming everyone assumed he'd regain his freshman season form while transitioning from the CCHA to the NCHC...
  24. My Laotian wife has never had it but said her friends love the one in Fargo
  25. If Verhoeff is even as close to as dominant(and more importantly bought in) as Sanderson was his sophomores year at UND I will be ecstatic
