Colton Poolman's goal at the end of the 1st was a powerplay goal. They went 1 for 4 on the PP last night.

I learned back during the last game of the rivalry in the WCHA to wait until near gametime to buy tickets at Marriuci. Rewind back to when we were playing the last game in the rivalry before they took a break and you'd think selling 2 tickets outside the arena would be a cinch, right? Nope, missed the first couple minutes of the game trying to sell them outside for $20/piece. No takers to the last game of the biggest rivalry in college hockey, cities folks are very fickle and if they see a cloud out of place or a threat of rain/wind/pollen alert they will ditch their plans to go to the games.

I am looking to buy 4 tickets together for the Friday UND v Gopher game at Marriuci. Please let me know if you have any you're looking to sell. Thanks!

I was pissing off the SCSU fan to my right by saying I never thought I'd see SCSU playing like Anchorage but it was true They looked like they were trying to kill a penalty for the last 5 minutes of the 3 period!

No I am not but I'm saying Rhett was not the problem last year. Was he undisciplined? Absolutely. But he was also part of the line that shut down the opponents best line as a freshman. The problem IMO was we didnt have the talent on the front end to move him back to 2nd or 3rd line center like we do this yr. Hes not a scorer and never will be. Having added guys that can score like Michaud, Pinto, Collin Adams up the middle (same jersey but I swear it's a different person) has completely changed the dynamic. Last year we didnt have a better option and Rhett was forced into a position(1st line center) that doesnt fit his skill set. My $.02

I believe we'd be on an 8 game win streak with or without Rhett, I seem to remember us having a couple 3 on 5's and a couple major penalties in Denver just last Saturday so did Rhett take those as well? The reason we still won? We're better in all facets then last year. Goaltending, shooting %, pp, pk. I will agree KG has been a very welcome addition that we missed dearly. If I recall correctly, the lynch mob on here thought Dixon and Berry needed to be shown the door last year too. Since we're playing revisionists, how's that working out?

Last night's attendance was much improved from previous games, not looking at gaping sections that go 10 rows deep in the upper levels for a change

In the last 5 games they are clicking at about 30%... which doesnt suck

My main issue with announcers are when they can scream into the microphone like fanboys after goals... in other words, when they cross the line from announcer to doating fan. Listen to Heinert or TH call a goal, there's a proper level of excitement but their voices aren't shrill. My favorite goal call is Lapanta, he called both sides with equal enthusiasm. Remember the timeout game? Both gopher and sioux goals were called with a lot of energy, makes it fun to watch for both fanbases.

...except in the NCAAs

Can we give Peski some much earned props after he got ripped on here all last year? He's been shot out of a cannon to start this season, talk about a guy taking a step! Not even on the penalty kill but providing offense and creating chances, he's just been fun to watch so far this year.

Fri-Pinto Sat-Weatherby

This, St Cloud has a potential to be a bit of pairwise anchor this year with their start. Hit them hard and often and finish our chances.

This was always my response to the Fire Berry crowd, we're not far off and I think we will see the fruits of his labor(recruiting) this year and the next. 8-1-2 is a lights out start and I'd put odds on them taking at least 4 points with a chance of a sweep vs SCSU. Then we can put a pounding on a reeling Gophers team in Mpls and take care of an injury depleted WMU team to end the 1st half somewhere around 13-2-2 or 12-3-2 IMO. I'm not big on crowning teams before Christmas but this team has the pieces to be special and make an honest run at #9. We are lucky enough that we get to enjoy the ride.

And beautiful saucer passes for days. Like NHL level saucer passes that hit the tape time after time.

Yes sir! A beer and 2 whiskeys deep, 67 degrees in Denver isn't too shabby either!
