  1. Partially agree as it relates to announcers. I'm not a fan of Joe Buck on the call but as far as camerawork, the US Open was revolutionary this year. The angles they got using drones was awesome and not the same angles we get every year at Pebble. IMO they provided a much better sense of scale of the place for those that have never been.
  2. I dont think I'd suggest not scheduling them anymore but once every 2 or 3 years maybe? Leave some room for non conference variety. Itd be nice to have room to squeeze a team we dont see a lot of like a Quinnipiac, Union, Providence, maybe even a different WCHA or Big Ten team. Just my .02
  3. I actually like going to Bemidji for games, mostly because we have a lake home in the area and it's a cool little downtown area with some good bars. However, I think the highlighted is definitely a valid point. At least this year we play MTech to bridge the gap a little before having Miami come to town.
  4. That save to keep it 1-0 was massive, I was so bummed he lost his shutout after playing a great game. Let's keep it rolling vs Tech next week!
  5. 5-2 UND Kawaguchi, Pinto, Adams, JBD, Peski
  6. I kind of agree, it's starting to feel like playing Bemidji is a lose lose for und. If you lose it's a killer, if you win yeah you were supposed to. All the while their coaches become intimately familiar with how we play, coach, make adjustments and can craft their teams and style to beat us. Speaking of adjustments, please take the drop back pass on the pp and kill it with fire. Bemidji had it sniffed out after one go round.
  7. That's a good point, I was just pleased to see us play vs Mankato who is a veteran, quality team and it didn't feel like we were reacting and a step behind. It felt like that in A LOT of games last year, and it's beyond frustrating to watch our players just miss a breakaway opportunity or just miss an open net because they didn't anticipate where the open space was.
  8. I love that we are the heaviest team and still seem to play fast. That's a scary proposition for opposing teams.
  9. That's fine, they can take the 1st half national championship crown
  10. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but based on my superficial understanding, the pairwise is based off head-to-head comparisons or common opponents. As of this point in the season, there is not nearly enough comparisons to get an accurate picture of who is better than who across the country.
  11. Yup we're playing a good team that's essentially already in midseason form, the pendulum will swing the other way as the season rolls on.
  12. They did last year. In fact, about 18-20 programs had a better team. Will they majority of years? No. It amazes me how fragile fans get when UND gets beat by what used to be an "inferior opponent". The world is not imploding over a tie and 1 goal loss at an away series. This isn't the old WCHA. Mankato has a veteran roster with legitimate talent to boot, why does that threaten people so much?
  13. Thank you for infusing some logic into this thread. I don't even know if I'd say we played poorly this weekend. We went toe-to-toe with Mankato and were one bad goal away from splitting. As long as they build on this weekend, sky's the limit IMO
  14. Besides the point but yes
  15. Pinto's goal tonight was a greasy goal off a rebound
  16. Based on radio I'd guess we have some bad turnovers & Scheel is standing tall but I'd be curious if that lines up with what people are seeing.
  17. I just use iheartradio app, no issues
  18. 1-0 after 1, let's keep our foot on the gas
  19. Also would like to know please
  20. Only 3 games in but one thing I can say about this years team is that they're dangerous. They can score in bunches and from any line. How about that tic tac goal goal that looked like the goal we scored in the regional finals vs michigan in 2016? Just gotta shore up some d lapses and need goalies to get in that .915+ save % range.
  21. If so, that'd be a cool 63 years between titles for that program.
  22. Edited previous post for accuracy
  23. That sounds like a totally arbitrary number that you just came up with
  24. I mean Schmaltz has played 42 NHL games... that's not a cup of coffee. Is he an NHL mainstay, no. But has he at one point been an NHL player? yes
