  1. I thought it looked like the one guy gave him a cross check as he was going around the net and his head hit the other players knee. Either way there should have been a penalty called on that play.
  2. In the AA Championship Lakeville North leads Duluth East 2-0 after 2. Does Duluth East have another comeback in them or will Lakeville North complete the undefeated season?
  3. This Miami team has the rare combination of being a cheap dirty team but also embellishing everything. Really hope we are fully healthy going into next weekend after some of the antics from Miami tonight. Wasn't one of our better games but 3 of Miami's goals only happened because of lucky bounces and the 3rd goal was because they pushed Zane into the net which must have recently been made legal. Reffing was absolutely pathetic tonight some no excuse for not calling the cross check on the Schmaltz injury but they let Miami get away with the cross check all weekend and they sure took advantage of that. Hope that Western Michigan can put a physical beat down on Miami especially that clown Coleman. Only concern after this weekend is the powerplay the talent is there just gotta find the right combination and I'm sure lots of time will be spent on special teams work this week as that becomes even more important in postseason play.
  4. When he plays to his potential he definitely has that ability and his linemate Grant Loven also looked very good in all 3 state tournament games I would be happy if we ended up with that whole line.
  5. Good finish from Tweten but the behind the back pass from Loven was what made that play. I wouldn't mind it at all if that whole Loven-Bowen-Tweten line was playing college hockey close to home for another green team in a couple years.
  6. The 4-2 regulation loss just wasn't enough.
  7. EGF winning it in OT would fit right in with the way Hermantown has lost some of the other championship games.
  8. Wow 2 goals 17 seconds apart to tie it for Hermantown
  9. Big swing on that one Hermantown almost had a fluke goal off a weird bounce that started because off a bad turnover by EGF defenseman and then seconds later Monda got the breakaway and cashed in.
  10. prep 45.com streams video but I believe they started charging $5 a day last year. http://msbnsports.net/ usually has free radio stream.
  11. EGF 3 Hermantown 2 after 2
  12. EGF scores! Grant Loven drives the net outta the corner and Bowen puts the lose puck away.
  13. EGF with some good chances and zone time after Hermantown tied it Loven just missed finishing on a one timer backdoor pass from Bowen.
  14. Hermantown scores a weak one early in the 2nd.
  15. Real nice play on the 2nd goal for EGF Bowen to Tweten to Monda on the backdoor. Webber has been very solid in EGF really calm and always seems to be in good position. Big for EGF to get the early lead and then go up by 2 with Hermantown losing 5 straight championships you know that impacts the mental side of things when you fall behind again.
  16. Lakeville North scores 4 in the 3rd to defeat Eden Prairie 6-2 and stay undefeated we will see tomorrow night if Duluth East has one more big upset left in them.
  17. Lakeville North and Eden Prairie are tied at 2 after 2. Has been a very good game so far EP with the 23-13 shot advantage.
  18. #1 Lakeville North against #5 Eden Prairie is underway. Lots of committed talent in this one with 8 committed players. Lakeville North has the 3 Poehling's(SCSU), Edquist(MN), Sadek(MN), and McNelly(UNO) and Eden Prairie having Mittlestadt(MN) and Graham(UMD).
  19. Watching Edina play again tonight I really like the freshman defenseman Clayton Phillips. He was their best defensemen yesterday against Bemidji and I thought he was their best player on the ice tonight against Duluth East. Very impressive player who is only gonna get better.
  20. 3.7 secs left the whole X except the Edina fans are up cheering as the game ends. Hounds win 3-1 over Edina, East has upset probably the 2 most hated teams in Minnesota the last 2 day in STA and Edina. This East team that was around .500 in the regular season and most people thought they wouldn't get past Grand Rapids in the section semis but their goalie was outstanding and then they had to come back from down 3-0 against Elk River in the section championship.
  21. Nice road win Zane was solid again and I thought we did a pretty good job of limiting quality chances. Seemed like we had a lot of troubling controlling the puck tonight as it. Liked the physical style tonight and the edge the team had really thought Olson established that even though he was called for a weal penalty on the hit. Johnson brought some good offensive chances including the good shot that hit the post and played with right on the edge but hard for me to fault him for what happened at the end of the 2nd period Miami was running interference all night and it happened again on that play and he just decided he wasn't gonna take it on that play I do wish somebody would have went after that 3rd guy in from Miami though. The OD-Gaarder-Pogo line was great again tonight and Pogo is another kid who is getting better every game. Anyone get a look at the chance that Schmaltz set up where the announcers thought it went in? Surprised they didn't at least show us a replay of that. Miami fans must not be very knowledgeable I laughed when they would boo and want a penalty called every time their players would dive.
  22. Duluth East is leading Edina 2-1 with 8 minutes left in the 3rd
  23. I've liked Loven for a long time and thought he has been right with Tweten for EGF's 2nd best player behind Bowen. I definitely think he will end up D1 player and I believe he has already been drafted by Lincoln in the USHL. Webber is a solid goalie and I think he will get junior looks after high school but playing against and then watching Zane in high school I think Zane was a better goalie at the same stage and probably a bigger goalie as well. One big difference is a lot of times Zane faced 25-30+ shots a game while Webber usually faces around 20. I remember the one game where I think Zane was a Soph. playing Warroad in the section semis in TRF where it went to 2 or 3 OTs and Zane absolutely stood on his head and was really the only reason the game wasn't a 4-5 goal margin. I hope EGF can get some early chances and test Hermantown's goalie early because I'm not sure how good he really is if EGF plays like they did today I like their chances.
  24. Hermantown wins 2-0 over Apollo setting up a Hermantown and EGF showdown for the 2nd year in a row.
