Just not consistent enough execution throughout the game last night to get a win. Felt like we settled for the outside too much last night. We did have some guys in front for screens and tips at times but just seems this team doesn't drive the net and create opportunities near as much as past Sioux teams. Another thing that seems to be consistent in our losses is the amount of shots that get blocked or guys just miss the net on solid opportunities. Yon and Mismash have been the guys in and out of the lineup lately but I really thought both played well last night so with Gardner out I don't know that we will see any changes up front tonight but I'd expect Johnson in for Peski at D tonight.

That guy had every detail along the way of the Fleck deal. He posted before the Gophers bowl game last year and not a lot of people took it serious on GopherIllustrated but then everything that he kept posting would happen did happen and it was a very fun thread to follow.

Keenum usually doesn't make as many mistakes as he did yesterday and I listed plays that resulted in the Vikings missing on points or the Saints getting points and I didn't even list the Viking TD that got called back. PI was the right call Crawley grabbed him during the route and Diggs was smart enough to hold his arm in there so the ref noticed it, Lutz missed FG from 58 hardly a sure thing and Ingram didn't get 1st down because Vikings stopped the Saints run game just ast they did earlier in the game on 2 3rd&1 plays, you're reaching for plays man. Pretty evident you are a biased fan as well. We just aren't gonna agree so might as well just move on. I thought the Vikings were the much better team and Saints were only in the game because of plays the Vikings gave them. Saints only had 2 drives all game that they got points on that started in New Orleans territory.

Shouldn't have been as close as it was. The penalties were all legit calls Saints fans can complain if they want but they are lucky they didn't have a couple more PI calls specifically on a Thielen catch where he went up high to get it and Lattimore already had his legs wrapped up and was trying to tackle him before the ball was there. Vikings defense was pretty dominant throughout the game and the Saints just took advantage of what the Vikings gave them with bad decisions/plays. Vikings missed 48 yard field goal before half. Vikings good drive to start the 2nd half would've had about 47 yard field goal and Keenum takes a bad sack instead of throwing the ball away. Saints put together a long drive but Thomas gets away with a hit to Sendejo's head and it changes the momentum and the Saints get a TD a play or 2 after that. At minimum there should've been a offensive PI call on Thomas and at maximum you could argue the intent and give him a personal foul. Keenum terrible decision/pass turns into a interception and sets up the Saints around the Vikings 30 and they quickly cash in with a TD. Vikings give up blocked punt and give Saints the ball around the Vikings 35-40 and Saints get another TD.

Vikings fans deserve this. Shouldn't have needed the play at the end or been near as close with all the mistakes the Vikings made but bottom line is survive and advance.

Had plenty of chances to get the win tonight. Gersich really had some good looks and I thought he would get one tonight. Bitzer was very good as he has been for 4 years for Bemidji. Little bit unlucky with both of the Beaver goals being redirects and both maybe going off UND players, 2nd one did for sure. Didn't see much of Adams, Mismash, and Kawaguchi in the 3rd/OT.

Got a start his freshman year against Iowa replacing a guy who was suspended for a half and filled in fine. Gophers LB group has been very good and he just got lost in the shuffle. Last couple years I don't think he saw any defensive snaps but played on most special teams units.

REA was completely dead from opening puck drop absolutely terrible atmosphere tonight. Decent number of shots from the Sioux but not a whole lot of good chances. Intensity and compete level from the guys looked like what you would see in the middle of the summer not for a conference game in the 2nd half of the season. Half second slow on everything tonight and really just lackadaisical and sloppy in all areas tonight. Would expect at least a couple lineup changes for tomorrow and hopefully a much better game. Reffing was also pretty bad but as soon as they said Walsh was doing the game I figured it would be. Absolutely hate that guy and wish he would just quit reffing or at least go to a different league.

No problem with the decision just seemed like the puck rolled on him a little and he didn't get as much on it as he wanted to. He has been the best player for the U.S. the entire tournament and is the guy I'd want to have the shot in that situation. Spacing wasn't very good to really move the puck on the opportunity either. Bottom line though you get a 3-on-0 chance against a good team and it has to end up in the net.

Didn't watch the game but saw the highlights on the WDAZ last night EGF had a PP goal or 2 and also killed at least 1 5-on-3 so maybe special teams part of the difference. Looking at EGF Hockey account on Twitter it was 2-1 EGF going to the 3rd and Central was outshooting them 18-17. Wave scored 57 seconds into the 3rd, and then again with 13:38 left and 9:35 left for the 5-1 win.

Got a chance to knock off some rust and didn't look like anybody got hurt, that's about as much as you can get from an exhibition.

I grew up in Red Lake Falls and played hockey there. The high school team only has about 10 players this year and is terrible. 0 talent at all. Bantam team is solid and would beat the high school in running time this year easily.

Good opportunity to get Teddy some time here.

Listened to the High School Hockey Podcast http://www.youthhockeyhub.com/news_article/show/865435-bhs-hs-hockey-podcast They were talking about early commits and how schools decommit from kids and kids decommit from schools. They mentioned that UND has pulled Mitchell Mattson's offer and he is no longer committed. They also mentioned it is pretty likely that Carter Randklev will end up at UND at least that is the heavy word on the street.

Believe 2 Minnesota transfer LBs were on campus this weekend.

Really a pretty well played college hockey game from two good teams tonight. Sioux penalty kill was outstanding and Cam was a big part of that and just very good overall tonight. Refs were a little penalty happy for awhile there and then in OT let everything go for the first few minutes and then they decide to give Jones a weak goalie interference call where he was clearly pushed in. Bring another good effort tomorrow night and find a way to get another win heading into the break.

Hoff out, Olson in, Peski in. Most surprising thing to me is no Kiersted . Thought he has looked good every time he has been in and would put him in over Rieger.

The Iowa loss was really bad but Ohio State did have 2 top 10 wins as well as a win over #18 compared to Alabama only having 1 top 20 win. Watching them Alabama is probably better but Ohio State definitely had a better resume. USC is probably playing better than both of them right now and deserved a little more consideration than they got as well. Alabama didn't really play anyone aside from Auburn and I think Clemson will take care of them but Saban will have plenty of ammunition to get his team locked in for this game.

Who knows maybe Jones is feeling good enough to play. Thought somebody said he was out with the flu tonight.

Sloppy game but way to grind out a win. Western Michigan is a physical team but not a lot of skill instead have to rely on clutching and grabbing and tons of embellishment from their players. Murray is constantly whining about everything and is pretty much always wrong. I remember Murray talking when he first got to Western about how his teams will always play the right way but they are pretty much the exact opposite of that now. Definitely the worst team in the country when it comes to embellishment and it isn't even close. Can't believe the refs gave Gardner a penalty at the end it wasn't even a good sell job from Dipietro. I was happy Bast went and let him hear it as soon as he it the ice. Finish the job tomorrow and get the sweep and clean a few of these Western Michigan punks clocks while we are at it.
