  1. If you go by straight seeding Cincinnati 1 Denver vs. 16 Michigan Tech 8 Union vs 9 Penn State Fargo 2 Duluth vs 15 Ohio State 7 Boston vs 10 Sioux Providence 3 Harvard vs 14 Providence 6 Western Michigan vs 11 Cornell Manchester 4 Minnesota vs 13 Notre Dame 5 Lowell vs 12 Air Force
  2. With the way the guys played this weekend I'm very confident heading into next weekend no matter who we play. I hope Poolman is alright and will be ready to go next weekend but if not somebody else needs to step up. This team is playing the best they have all year and playing Fighting Sioux hockey. They also look like they have a little more jump in their step as well. The thing about the reffing tonight was it was like they had to find something to call on UND because Duluth was commiting so many penalties. There weren't many Duluth penalties if any that were questionable meanwhile there were a number of questionable ones called on UND like the last 2 that basically handed Duluth the game and the Olson penalty which was just a clean check. Duluth actually could have been called for many more penalties as it is just the style they play with so much stickwork and holding. Also no idea how they didn't kick out Pionk that was the easiest call of the game.
  3. The one where one announcer wanted it called and the other thought it was a dive? I did see a couple Penn State got away with in the 1st OT.
  4. Penn St wins on a PP and with some of the other stuff they had let go in the OTs before they probably shouldn't have called that one either.
  5. Really well played game against one of the top teams in the country and it was a NCAA Tournament style game. Jost and both the Poolman's were outstanding tonight and Ausmus played real well again. Gotta think Yon was hurt otherwise I don't get why both Gornall and Wilkie would be in over him. Those were the 2 that I noticed that struggled controlling the puck at all and really with the speed of the game which would make sense as I don't think either played last weekend.
  6. Doesn't help that the team shot terribly and Mason was trying to play through injury and had his worst game of the season. Future is bright though returning everybody besides Springs and adding 2 really solid guards and another veteran who missed the year with injury.
  7. Judd Caulfield invited to the 46 man NTDP evaluation camp March 24-28.
  8. Probably Brock Nelson not sure if he played USHL before/after his SR season though.
  9. The other factor is it isn't always about what they are projected to be and development. Sometimes it is just about being able to experience high school for one more year, being at home with your family, and playing with the guys you grew up with. There are tons of guys who could leave early and have fine success but some just might not want to leave what they've grown up with yet.
  10. Didn't hear that so not sure. He had resigned last spring/summer but that didn't last real long at all.
  11. Ankle I believe, he was in pretty noticeable pain against Holy Family and battled through it the rest of the way but it did hurt his skating some.
  12. I don't have highlights to last nights game but here is the montage from the end of the tournament. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DoYxppjuREU&feature=youtu.be
  13. It would be hard to go back to back for Hain and McLaughlin and it is probably more likely for them to leave now that they did win then if they would of lost. Somebody last night mentioned they assumed both would be gone but then another guy made a couple good points. When is the last time a Grand Rapids player left early? Also the guys really love to play for Klatt and he has the college and NHL experience kids value. I guess I wouldn't be surprised either way with what Hain and McLaughlin do but I hope they stay and just play USHL before and after the season they get enough experience just doing that no reason to leave early. I think we will see more high end Minnesota kids stay at least the next few years with Mittelstadt doing it this year and it not affecting him at all.
  14. I don't care whether it is Gersich, Jost, or anybody else on the team my philosophy is as long as it isn't a blowout either way you can celebrate the goal however you want.
  15. Grand Rapids big guns came through big time tonight for them. When their top line plays the way they did tonight it is hard for anybody to beat them. If nobody leaves early for both Grand Rapids and Moorhead both these teams could very well be back for next years state tournament. Overall one of the best tournaments in a number of years filled with exciting close games and great storylines.
  16. Some sloppy play at times but a back and forth exciting game where the Sioux come out on top. Really liked the way Olson played tonight even before the game winner except I thought he should have made the pass early on the 2-on-1 early to Yon as he was at the end of the shift. Great job by the ref that made the goal call in OT he was in great position and got the call right on the ice that a lot of people need review before they know that one is a goal.
  17. Hermantown wins it on a shot from the point off the faceoff.
  18. No goal after review! and I think that is the right call.
  19. Penalty on Hermantown late in the 1st OT pretty clear elbow to the head.
  20. Been another great game. If Hermantown wins it I think it comes from Ryan Sandelin, if it is Monticello I'll go with Nick Zwack.
  21. MAML takes a 3-1 lead over Hermantown early in the 3rd.
