For the talk about Berry recruits and Hakstol recruits here is what I found. Looking up when guys committed and when Hak left. Thome, Casey Johnson, Jones, Rieger, Smith, Hoff, and Kawaguchi committed after the coaching change. Looking at future recruits Keane and Senden both committed before the change. You can talk about how many are Berry recruits and how many are Hak but this is Berry's team. The only guys on the current team that played under Hak are the SRs so if there is anybody he didn't want he could've told the guy they were gonna go in a different direction after he took over as head coach. Somebody posted earlier Hak got out at almost the right time but this team may not look the same if Hak never leaves. Who knows what recruits he would've added to this group in the last couple years. I don't think Berry should be fired at all right now but I also think this team should be in a better place than it is right now. It isn't all about talent with team right now either. There is a lack of urgency and intensity throughout the team. Too many times guys look for somebody else to go make something happen and watch instead of getting after it and that is in all areas of the game.

He went for the block on the 3rd one and the guy went around him easily but I think it was Peski who should've blocked and missed and Shaw who screened Thome as good as anybody screened a goalie all night.
-
I thought it was Mismash on the 2nd goal and he does play D on the PP so that would make sense. He did force him to the outside and a terrible angle goalie has to make that save. Cam overplayed the angle badly on the play.

Some are Hak recruits and some are Berry recruits. Would be interesting to look exactly who was actually committed when Hak left and who Berry added.

UND should not and will not be making a run at Haviland. I'd think the first call would be to Hak.

Another embarrassing effort from this group. There isn't one singular problem it is the entire group coaches, forwards, defensemen, and goaltenders. Thought this team had started to turn the corner couple weeks ago against Denver and then they come with this type of performance after a week off against a mediocre Colorado College team. At this point in the season and the situation being what it is the lack of intensity and urgency from the top on down on this team is absolutely shocking to me.

That is just what I've heard I haven't got a chance to see him this year at all. Seems a little weird to me too but who knows. Duluth East is real good this year and should get back to the state tournament although 7AA gets pretty crazy sometimes. Hopefully they make it and I'll get a chance to see him play there.
-
He is definitely a scorer but I think he will have to play juniors before someone offers him. He is small and benefits greatly from playing on a line with Donovan and Mageau as he gets quite a few can't miss setups.

Think we do use 2 forwards a lot of times but the 2 D thing was just matchup wise with Denver. Trying to limit any chance of a clean break or odd man rush for Borgstrom, Gambrell, and Terry.
-
Think they were going with 1 forward and 2 defensemen when Denver's top guys were on the ice. Kiersted just took the big hit and I definitely wouldn't Rieger out there in the 3-on-3 situation so Shaw would be the best option. Maybe should've went with 2 forwards instead but that is very dangerous with Denver.

Coming into the weekend if you would have told me we would get 2 points without Gardner, Jones, and Bast as well as Smith for a game I would've said I'll take it. With the way the guys played for the most part the last 2 nights it feels like they deserved more than 2 points. It wasn't always pretty hockey but it was how the Sioux had to play to have some success against a talented team this weekend. Even without getting any wins this weekend I feel much more confident in this teams ability to make a run. Get some guys healthy and get ready to pile up some wins in the last 8 regular season games.

With Smith suspended and the off week next week might be a pretty good chance we see Rieger move to forward tonight.
-
Biggest thing is Gersich spins but is still balanced and isn't going down or losing an edge at all until the Denver guy clips Gersich. The play directly leads to a scoring chance and should've been called. They already showed they were willing to call penalties in OT if it takes away a scoring chance on the Gersich penalty so you would think they'd do the same if a potential helped develop a scoring chance.
-
Watch it again, should've been an easy call.
-
When it happens everytime I see Denver play I start to question the guy. I didn't get a good look at the hit tonight but he sure sold it last time when we played in Denver and got the major call on Smith when it shouldn't have even been a penalty that time.
-
Definitely was and lead directly to the goal.

Terrible officiating that has to be a trip but we all know how the refs love Denver. I'll take a point but I really think we should've had more. Really played pretty well at times tonight but a few big things that were key to shutting down Denver through the first half of the game really trailed off as the game went on. One was getting the puck out of the zone when you have the chance as well as getting the puck deep when you have the chance to limit Denver's transition game. Another was limiting Denver's time and space which was really well done the first half of the game but the 3rd period you really noticed a lot more standing and reaching with sticks instead of players in Denver guys faces. Plant better not play tomorrow either if he is so injured. Seems like Plant is always in these situations and I've seen him really sell a hit before and be back playing a key role the next night so we will see how hurt he really is. I didn't get a good look of the hit but I didn't think it looked too bad.

Think that was just more because Bradford had actual experience and game action this year going through training camp, preseason, and week 1. While Bridgewater was able to start practicing middle of the year and played a few plays in 1 game so no real game time this year.
-
I don't know if they will but I believe they have the 6th most cap space in the NFL right now so should be able to add some solid pieces. I think they will try to bring back Bridgewater and Keenum and let them compete in camp for the job. I would not be at all surprised if Teddy is the starter week 1 next year.
-
Maybe, but even thinking back to Denver I know they had like 5 PP goals on the weekend but the PK was much tougher in those areas. Same with St. Cloud they usually have a very good PP and they were 1/8 on the weekend and really had trouble on entries.
-
When the PK was really good earlier this year we got clears most of the time on the 1st opportunity sometimes 2nd. Lately a lot of the clear attempts have looked more like passes to the other teams D man and we rarely clear on the 1st chance. Teams also are having a much easier time on entries seems like guys just aren't making good decisions on when/where to pressure in the neutral zone.
