  1. Really liked the Mismash-Gardner-Adams line together. Thought all of the freshmen newcomers played pretty well and really bring something different to the table. The vision and passing ability of Kawaguchi will be fun. The coaching staff will have some very tough decisions to make each Friday and Saturday on who's in and who's out.
  2. Jake Braccini out of Buffalo, MN picks Minnesota. Berry and staff were after him pretty hard. Jake Braccini‏ @BracciniJake 2h2 hours ago More Proud to announce my commitment to play college hockey at the University of Minnesota. Thanks to everyone who's helped me get here #gophs
  3. For those saying the Hawk logo is on the ice for regionals but not at REA there is a difference there. The hawk logo isn't at center ice for regionals like it would be at REA. They put a NCAA logo at center ice and the host schools logo in the neutral zone which is much smaller than it would be at center ice. I hate the name change and will never refer to the university as hawks but even putting that aside I really think part of why the logo won't be at center ice is the really logo looks terrible when it isn't smaller. Either way I'm glad whoever makes the decision is just going with North Dakota at center ice and from what I've heard many with the hockey program are very happy with the decision as well.
  4. Believe he camped at Minnesota this past weekend and reports were he was pretty solid. Don't see anything but a PWO that would come from Minnesota though with them already having 4 OL commits and only a couple slots left open for the '18 class.
  5. Been watched closely by some bigger programs the past few weeks. Minnesota, Purdue, and Wisconsin have been at a number of his games.
  6. I'd take the script over the hawk logo everyday and most involved with the hockey program would as well.
  7. Has there been any confirmation the logo will be at center ice? There are definitely some other options to have at center ice. I would still rather just see a script North Dakota there instead.
  8. Pretty good list of offers for Donovan in the article from Schloss. Duluth East standout Ryder Donovan commits to UND
  9. Think he is actually going into his JR year. Watched Duluth East a few times this year and really like his game. Skilled guy but really plays a good all around game. His Duluth East team was loaded with Sophs and JRs last season and should be pretty good this year.
  10. Think this option really became realistic when Klatt decided to finish his degree and not coach Grand Rapids this year. If he would've still coached this season I think it is pretty likely both Hain and McLaughlin are playing their SR seasons there.
  11. Lots of competition throughout the lineup. Not sure who would play center on that top line Gersich or Mismash but really think that group would fit well together. Mismash-Gersich-Poganski Janatuinen-Gardner-Adams Yon-Bowen-Kawaguchi Hoff-Simonson-Olson Jones, Smith, Gornall Poolman-Peski Shaw-Bast Wolanin-Johnson/Kiersted Rieger Johnson Thome Anderson
  12. With the talk about elite players and recruits we are landing I still think we are landing our share but it has gotten harder to figure out partly because of when guys commit. People forget because guys commit 3-4 years before they ever hit the ice at their college. When Mismash committed he was maybe the top player in his class and we beat out Minnesota for him and it was huge deal. Mattson was a big time recruit when we landed him and had Minnesota, Wisconsin, Duluth offers. Same with Hain who should be a early round draft pick next year and Tychonick was very highly regarded when he committed.
  13. Jackson Kunz @jacksonkunz9 Proud and honored to announce my commitment to play hockey at the University of North Dakota. Thanks to all that have helped along the way!
  14. Mittelstadt has also recently said he is excited to get moved in and settled in at Minnesota so don't take too much from his draft interview at all. Just seemed like a guy who was nervous and isn't real comfortable with interviews yet.
  15. Would think there is a decent chance they move either Brodin or Scandella for a forward still.
  16. Don't think the Wild will give up Zucker. Think they would even be alright loosing Scandella and would maybe include a prospect to get that done.
  17. Lakeville North OL Nathan Boe committed to Minnesota after camp today. Other offers from UND, NIU, UNI, SDSU, and WIU.
  18. Sproles didn't list UND in a tweet as schools he was looking at. Listed Illinois State, Indiana State, UNI, NDSU, SDSU, South Dakota, Wyoming, and Northern Illinois as teams he was focusing on but still open to new offers.
  19. Josh Aune camped at Minnesota last night earned an offer and committed immediately as a S/LB.
  20. Very good player one of the top in his class in Minnesota was hoping he would end up at UND. Chris Dilks‏ @ChrisDilks 3m3 minutes ago Chaska HS '01 F Shane LaVelle has committed to Wisconsin.
  21. The Wallner kid at Southern Miss has a legit chance to be the national freshman of the year. Was real disappointed when he chose Southern Miss over Minnesota after UND dropped the program although there wasn't a whole lot of scholarship money left at Minnesota which probably played a role.
  22. When Rieger committed I kind of wondered if he was filling the Chartrand role although he may be better overall. He does have the advantage of being a right handed shot which we don't have a lot of but I don't see him getting a lot of ice time at least early on. I think Shaw, Poolman, Peski, and Wolanin are pretty good bets to be in the lineup early. Then you have Johnson, Bast, and Kiersted to battle for 2 spots. I liked the way Johnson progressed through the year and thought the BU game was one of his best games of the season. Bast is a guy who has been called Stecher like by some and would give you another righty in the lineup which gives him a leg up on Kiersted as of now but Kiersted is a very good skater and puck mover as well.
  23. Figured he would just based on talent only question for me was he missed a lot of time in the 2nd half of the season with some kind of injury and not sure what it was and how the recovery would be. Chartrand is a guy who hasn't played through 2 years so I doubt they are counting on him for much and it wouldn't be a surprise if he looks to transfer.
  24. Actually came from the B1G commish to have stronger schedules and make B1G contenders more attractive for the college football playoff. Minnesota played New Hampshire in 2012, Eastern Illinois in 2014, Indian State last year, and will play South Dakota State in 2019 and I believe only the New Hampshire game was scheduled before the last loss to NDSU so that loss to NDSU had absolutely nothing to do with it. Yeah nobody was happy with losing to NDSU but at that time people understood the program wasn't in great shape as it was Kill's 1st season and Brewster had left the program in terrible shape.
