Some really good periods of play tonight but bottom line is they didn't get the result and especially right now that is all that matters. With the situation being what it is whether you play well or play like crap all that really matters right now is W or L and it was a L. The number of grade A opportunities tonight might've been the most this team has generated all year the problem is we are lucky if we finish on 1 of every 10 grad A chances.

Duluth East wins 7AA with a 3-2 OT win over Andover. Donovan had the game tying goal with 1:12 left. Andover goalie was outstanding and kept them in it while Andover made the most of their offensive chances. Shots were 53-20 in favor of Duluth East.

Was pretty shocked that Moorhead lost last night. I caught the 3rd period on the radio and it seemed like they were dominating but would have a little lapse and STMA converted on their limited opportunities. Kind of a disappointing year for Moorhead. Seemed like they were up and down all year and just couldn't find the consistency they played with for the 2nd half of the season and state tournament run last year also seemed like their goaltender struggled a little more this year. Donovan and Duluth East play Andover tonight. They looked really good Monday against Marshall as Donovan had a goal and assist in the 9-1 win.

Yeah former Holy Family goalie Jared Moe committed to Minnesota a while back and I know he was someone the UND staff was following as well. I think they plan to have him come in for 19/20 and Haider would probably be a guy that would come in for 20/21 or even 21/22 as he is still a high school Sophomore.
-
Wonder if he is a foreign exchange student looks like he has played in Finland previously. He made some huge saves. Probably would have liked a goal or 2 back but made some absolutely unbelievable saves too. That was a heck of game last night that had pretty much everything. I was really hoping Greenway would pull it off.
-
He is an elite goalie and I believe he is the top priority goaltending wise right now I think all the major schools are after him.
-
*McLaughlin and Miller and those 2 benefited just as much from playing with him as he did playing with them. I saw plenty of Hain last year but have only seen him against UND this year but I'd be surprised if he isn't a regular in the lineup next year. He is a skilled guy but does a lot of the dirty work as well.

Very much agree with the plan to not tag Keenum and have to overpay him. Seems like more and more reports that there is mutual interest between the Vikings and Cousins but I still think that will depend on whether Cousins is looking for the most $$$ he can get or whether it is more important to find a contender.

North Dakota @ Miami - Saturday Gameday
SiouxScore replied to RideOrDieOshie's topic in Men's Hockey
Definitely, gave up at least a few 2 on 1s trying to go around 3 guys tonight too. All around d zone play was terrible all weekend and we lost a ton of board battles. I questioned this teams toughness many times this weekend. We already knew it wasn't a real skilled team and now it isn't a real tough team so what style of team is this? -
North Dakota @ Miami - Saturday Gameday

Highly disappointing weekend. Don't care who is in and who is out, who is coaching, who is reffing, or where the games are at. A weekend and stretch like we are in now shouldn't happen for this program. This is unacceptable and coaches and players need to look in the mirror and ask themselves if they are doing everything they can to continue the tradition and reach the expectations of North Dakota hockey because I don't think there are many that could truly say they are. They need to step up right now be committed to living up to the expectations this program has or they shouldn't be a part of this program. -

This just can't happen Brad E. Schlossman‏ @SchlossmanGF Tonight was the fourth time in eight games that UND has given up a lead of two or more goals (UMD, DU, Omaha, Miami).

Pathetic terrible effort against a very bad team. Mentality wise this might be the worst team I've seen at UND. Too worried about what fans are saying about you that when it is time to go out there and perform you can't get the job done. Does this team understand that their season is on the line in these games? You would think they would at least pretend to show a little effort and desperation. Miami is a team you should've put away early and got a business like win instead Miami controlled everything and even though somehow they were losing 3-0 at one point totally outplayed UND from the opening puck drop. The defensive effort and coverage was the worst I've seen in years. The guys looked absolutely clueless out there and running around the zone like a squirt team. As much as I want this team to make the NCAA tournament and continue the streak these guys don't deserve to. They can't sweep a team like Miami then they shouldn't be surprised when the season is over in a couple weeks and they're sitting on a coach watching the teams that can put it all together and play with energy, effort, focus, and execution.

Cam Johnson was absolutely outstanding tonight. Kind of a ugly game at times the puck seemed to be bouncing all over the place. Thought the guys did a much better job in the neutral zone both offensively and defensively. Forced Omaha to dump it in a lot more and they aren't a team that really thrives playing that way. Had to have this one tonight and got it. Have to have both at Miami next weekend too no excuses.
-
Yeah I saw it on the first replay but when they showed the replay a couple more times I realized it was a UND defenseman's stick that did it.
-
Should have won this game going away it shouldn't even have been close. Tons of chances to bury Omaha and couldn't convert and then you make it even worse and hand them the game by taking undisciplined stupid penalties when your PK is terrible. Still had a chance to win in the 3rd period down only a goal and this team looked almost disinterested. Such a frustrating team. Whether this team recovers tomorrow and salvages a split won't change that this is a weekend where this team again underachieved. I don't care whether you are on the road or at REA at this time of year a split against teams like CC, Omaha, Miami, and Western Michigan isn't acceptable.

NORTH DAKOTA VS. c.c. SATURDAY GAMEDAY THREAD
SiouxScore replied to iluvdebbies's topic in Men's Hockey
Solid effort tonight. Guys seemed to have a little more jump and focus tonight. Can't only get this kind of performance every other game or here or there anymore, need this type of performance or better every game continuing Friday in Omaha. -
NORTH DAKOTA VS. c.c. SATURDAY GAMEDAY THREAD

Adams played plenty of center in the USHL and has had a couple of his better games there for UND. He had Gersich and Mismash start with him last night and I thought the line would play well. Coming into the weekend I wondered if Berry would bench a forward and play D up front if somebody struggled and he showed tonight he isn't hesitating to do that. I think it is the right move with how Adams played last night too. Ton of turnovers, coasting, and just looked like overall lack of energy from Adams last night. -
For the talk about Berry recruits and Hakstol recruits here is what I found. Looking up when guys committed and when Hak left. Thome, Casey Johnson, Jones, Rieger, Smith, Hoff, and Kawaguchi committed after the coaching change. Looking at future recruits Keane and Senden both committed before the change. You can talk about how many are Berry recruits and how many are Hak but this is Berry's team. The only guys on the current team that played under Hak are the SRs so if there is anybody he didn't want he could've told the guy they were gonna go in a different direction after he took over as head coach. Somebody posted earlier Hak got out at almost the right time but this team may not look the same if Hak never leaves. Who knows what recruits he would've added to this group in the last couple years. I don't think Berry should be fired at all right now but I also think this team should be in a better place than it is right now. It isn't all about talent with team right now either. There is a lack of urgency and intensity throughout the team. Too many times guys look for somebody else to go make something happen and watch instead of getting after it and that is in all areas of the game.
-
He went for the block on the 3rd one and the guy went around him easily but I think it was Peski who should've blocked and missed and Shaw who screened Thome as good as anybody screened a goalie all night.
-
I thought it was Mismash on the 2nd goal and he does play D on the PP so that would make sense. He did force him to the outside and a terrible angle goalie has to make that save. Cam overplayed the angle badly on the play.
-
Some are Hak recruits and some are Berry recruits. Would be interesting to look exactly who was actually committed when Hak left and who Berry added.
-
UND should not and will not be making a run at Haviland. I'd think the first call would be to Hak.
