  1. Just saying... don't assume. I hate that. NOW we can all talk about the wing/hawks matchup.
  2. I'm sorry... I wasn't aware Detroit had already won...
  3. He didn't WOW me like a one-and-done player should. Though, I will not be disappointed if he doesn't come back.
  4. But only one of them is a legit Hobey candidate.
  5. I've kind of talked to him about this, and I get the impression from Dunc that he just wants to keep playing hockey as long as he can. I don't think it really matters to him where he plays. Everyone wants to play in the NHL, and Ryan is no different, but I'm sure he's okay with just being able to keep playing. The love of the game...
  6. and yet they still won. i'm no longer surprised by anything you say.
  7. it wasn't legal, or clean. however, i don't think it was intentional either, it was just one of those things where gonchar shifted his body at the last second which made the knees collide. but intentional or not, it happened. And, I'm not an Ovechkin fan, so i'm not trying to justify/make it okay/whatever.
  8. I don't really think it's our place to say who should get what award because we are on the outside and we don't see the progress made by certain players day in and day out like those on the inside do. I do respect everyone's opinions but I, personally, don't think it's my place to say. I mean, last year Brent Davidson was voted most improved and he didn't play in very many games last year so we didn't get to see that really, until perhaps, this season. I agree though that Zajac and Miller both made significant strides this year and deserve a lot of credit for their improved play, but I don't want to take anything away from the improvement of Ben Blood either. I think a lot of players made great strides this year so I'm sure it's hard to pick one...
  9. There's an interview with Derrick LaPoint on his recovery here if anyone hasn't seen it yet: http://www.fightingsioux.com/ViewArticle.d...;ATCLID=3734652 Good to see him out walking around campus.
  10. gosh, i hope so! i'm so sick of detroit.
  11. we'll need the extra time to develop the freshies
  12. Thanks Big! I needed a laugh after a stressful morning! That's as funny as Cade Fairchild as a Hobey finalist.
  13. this is dumb--in the olympics you support your country. everything else is pushed aside. enough said.
  14. you mean there is a majority? I was beginning to think I was the only one! haha
  15. I don't think Denver's anything to drool over either. Decent, but that's it. I just enjoy other teams struggling with early departures. ( I'm not a very nice person, I admit it )
  16. BOO. oh well, I'm over it. GO SIOUX!
  17. That's what I thought, thanks.
  18. Do any of them play center? Because neither Gregoire or Hextall did last year and I only saw Kristo play at the World Juniors, so I'm not sure.
  19. Malone-VV-Frattin will probably start the season together. (I heard this on the radio) They have good size and could be dominant next season and the chemistry is already there. I like what Malone brings to that line. I would say keep Gregoire and Hextall together too and insert Trupp into Duncan's vacated spot on that line. I could see Kristo and Cichy playing together as well, possibly on a line with Toews.
  20. i just can't take anything a fan of the redwings says to heart No offense, of course. Everyone has their opinions, and that is A-OK by me.
  21. I'm not sure we should be going around assuming that VV will have a hard time making the NHL just yet. He might, but you really never know. Not many players make the immediate jump to the NHL, he will spend some time in the AHL, and anyone who thinks otherwise might be a bit naive. (I'm probably going to get slammed for that bout of positivity, aren't I? )
  22. Never say never is my motto. It aint over til it's over. (now there's a couple sports cliches for ya lol)
  23. On the Pipeline Show, the Oilers Asst GM said Vandy is going back to UND... said they already told him to do so, and going back won't hurt his development. http://www.thepipelineshow.com/media_detai...:00:00&sn=4 right around the 2 minute mark if anyone feels like listening. I didn't read anywhere else where it has been confirmed on either side so thought I'd post this.
  24. I thought he played pretty well once the team in general started playing better. I will admit I said some not nice things the beginning of the season regardinghis play, but he picked it up. I still remember that save he made in the st cloud game that would have definitely been a goal had he not batted that puck out of the air to get it out of the way. I definitely noticed his improved play. Maybe he's not the offensive stalwart he could be, but I'd rather have strong defensive play from him than that. That said, IF he wants to become more of an offensive force, he should work on getting some more power to his shot as not much is there. If others want to go and be all negative, that's fine by me. I have my own opinions and I'll stick by them.
  25. Cam Fowler's not going to DU. He's going major junior. He backed out of his committment to Notre Dame.
