It's been pretty clear for a while who our goalie is and should be. He's earned it by his play in games. And I see no logic of playing a senior back up goalie just to give him playing time for riding the bench for a few years. If we did that, this whole process would start all over again next year, and we all know how painful the first few games were from a goaltending/defensive standpoint. Playing BE is logical b/c he's talented... and each game gives him more confidence and we can only hope how good he could be by the time he's done here. I'm Team BE all the way.

Don't freak out... I never said you claimed that. Some people just take a while to develop. Maybe he has underachieved thus far, but he's got a while to go to make up for that if he does. I hope what we saw from him this weekend is a sign of things to come, but we'll see.

Sophomore... he's got 2 more years. And we don't know if what he's done the past few games is going to continue or not. And I'd definitely wait a while before throwing around a Hobey discussion his way. I definitely wouldn't call him a disappointment YET. We could very well be proven wrong by the end of the year. We shall see.

Gregoire is not a center ... they'd have to convert him to play one. I'm not opposed to this option. I've heard many others think this sounds like a good idea. The only other centers you could put there are trupp and toews, and trupp's probably injured and toews hasn't played much, therefore I vote to convert gregs to a center. sounds good. yup, pretty sure.

I'm sorry, but to call Frattin the biggest disappointment of the sophomore class is laughable. I'd give that title to Malone. Currently, he's the one I think should be up in the press box watching. I think Trupp is about ready to come out of that slump of his...he had a good game on Friday... but then he got hurt, so we don't know. Frattin is not the biggest disappointment of that sophomore class.

a sweep would be huge right now. Looking ahead, a sweep here would help us get back on track i think... depending if we can be consistent.

You have a good argument, but this is an entirely different season. Kozek had a good season last year sure, but he hasn't done anything offensively in a while and has yet to be an offensive force this year. he's been a much needed physical force out there, but as far as scoring it hasn't been there. Everytime he has the puck it's rarely even on net. this 'no kozek on the PP' whinefest is getting old, there's a lot of guys out there that can play-- we are deep at fwd ... so not everyone is going to get time on the PP

I don't think we're poor offensively per se, merely inconsistent. Agree about Malone -- he doesn't do much... The only center that could create anything is Trupp and we don't know the severity of his injury last night. Hopefully it's minor but it's tough to say. Toews probably has the potential to be able to set things up but he hasn't played enough at center for me to know that. A couple of us were talking and think we should convert gregoire to a center and play him with duncan and hextall or something. As far as not finishing above .500 ... if Wisconsin can pull even starting 0-6-1, I think we can turn things around too! So I'm not giving up yet. But losing Trupp (again) would be a huge loss. Joe Finley coming back could help defensively.

I don't think you can say the boys didn't play hard because they fought hard I thought, but cornell was just mugging everyone it was impossible for us to get going. Hopefully we can turn it around out east next weekend. I'm glad duncs got mad -- rightfully so, I still maintain he got screwed on that goal in the first, but whatev... gosh i hope trupper's okay

Just curious here, but of the guys that play center, who would you put on that top line? I do think Vandy is more of a checking line player also, but I have an issue finding someone else to play with Dunc and Hextall if you move Vandy back to the checking line. So, who takes the center spot? Zajac's more of a checking line guy, Malone isn't skilled enough to be up there, Gregoire's not a center. I guess that would leave you with Trupp or Toews to center that top line. I do hope we see some new line combos this weekend, but I don't think we'll see anything different on that top line.

Anthony Grieco (who would have been a junior this year) left the team before christmas break last year. He was the backup to lamoureux. Our only other goalie was aaron walski, who initially was a walk-on. Which is why we go with the freshman (who is drafted...lots of talent there)
