  1. Ticketmaster WAS STUPID! I was getting Denver tickets for my parents and I too, had to wait a super long time for it to tell me it couldn't find any tickets and had to go back and try again. And I got on at exactly 10:00 (I sat on my computer refreshing until it let me select tickets)... So then I called my parents to apologize for the not that good upper bowl seats I got them. I'm a little concerned I'm going to run into this problem tomorrow when I try to get my student seasosn tickets. I might call over to the ralph and ask them a couple questions....
  2. I'm the most optimistic person EVER. I want to buy my parents a nat'l championship banner but refuse to do so until after this season. Go ahead, laugh at me. HAHAHA. I like the way our team looks. I think we need to step up the goal production, and I think one of the goalies will get the job done. We shall see in a couple weeks!
  3. Maybe... I'm trying to do something nice for my hard-working sioux fan parents that want to go to a game this season and live four hours away in lame gopher country and the ONLY time they can come is during one of the "premium" weekends. I'm a little perturbed about prices, but I've been waiting for hockey season to start for how many days now and I have enough money, so you can beat your rear end I'll be there!
  4. I am beyond pissed about the price increase. At first I thought it was just for the Minnesota series. Then I found out it was for Wisco and DU too, and DU is the only series my parents and sister can make it up to GF for, so there goes $120 bucks! Ridic! And just for a single game! Not to mention my disdain for the ticket price increases for student season tickets.... i won't even go there.
  5. Ok, first of all, heard of the freshman 15? lol, sorry i just had to crack that joke. And secondly, 15 pounds over a year isn't that bad depending where the weight goes , it's not like it was put on all at once, and it sounds to me like he just made the decision to bulk up. And thirdly, when I saw trupp a couple days before school started, he really didn't look any different, so I would guess there wouldn't be any negative impact.
  6. I know with the women's hockey team, the coach gets 8 hours a week with players during pre-season. I would guess it would be similar for the mens...
  7. I'm not sure when actual practice starts, but I work at the ralph and the teams are in pre season right now and they get so much ice time stuff per week. and i know the guys are always in the weight room. I'm not sure if the practices are open to the public. this probably doesn't answer any questions, just a bunch of useless info i bet. oops!
  8. I have a kind of related question... Does anyone know if the Icebreaker or GLI tournament will be televised on satellite television? My parents have satellite, and if they will be televised, i'd like to plan visits to the rents accordingly....lol...
  9. I completely agree! I think we are sitting pretty good, and I feel good about the team we are attacking with this year. Oh, and I think Trupp is going to come out blazing... i only think we saw a tiny glimpse of what he's capable of. All that said, I'm super excited and wish hockey season would hurry up and get here already!
  10. Not every series does, but there's more so this year, at least in my opinion when i looked at the schedule. Every series is important, but the gopher series is a huge rivalry and everyone goes crazy for tickets every year they come here. I had a good 15 offers for my tickets last season. so i wouldn't say we don't care about the other series, but you really can't argue on the hype about the gopher series.
  11. What's really lame about the whole students not getting tickets to the gopher series is the fact that the series is the weekend before we are back in school, so most of the students will likely already be in town. So i think they should just give them to us. but personally, i never leave (lol) so i'm pretty pissed about not getting tickets to the game, it's the biggest game of the year at home no question! but whatev i'll still be there whether I have to buy regular gen admission seats or not.
  12. my friend in high school's last name was gregoire, and we pronounced it greg-wire. so thats a possibility.
  13. I think so ... i have a good feeling. p.s-- i also still maintain my theory the gophers will not finish ahead of us.
  14. personally, i don't see the gophers finishing ahead of UND. i haven't been too impressed with their returning players aside from kangas. i'd go with both CC and DU ahead of UND before the gophers, but i guess we'll have to wait until the season starts to know for sure.
  15. i believe the puck drops in approximately 117 days! (yes i have no life as I'm counting down...in my spare time)
  16. i'm 100 %! i thought t.j. and taylor would leave and duncan, kozek and finley would be back. it's gotta be a gift. lol.
  17. While I understand your argument here, I really find no need to knock on Chay. Maybe he's not as seasoned on defense as Joe, but he played forward for a bit to help the team out where they needed it. Maybe he's had some off games, we all know Joe has... but I'd rather have that experience there than not, especially with the goaltending issues for next season. That being said, Welcome back Joe!
  18. I might agree with this statement. only bigger than HUGE...
  19. I completely agree. He needs to do what he wants to do, and best of luck in whatever that is. We need players who really want to be here.
  20. Where did you find this out? All I'm seeing is that he decided to attend the Oilers prospect camp. While it wouldn't surprise me if he signed a contract, I don't see the confirmation. There was an interesting article in the Edmonton Journal about Chorney and comparing it the the Wheeler situation and it comments how badly contract talks are going. Interesting stuff...
  21. The X Factor : That would be us! Fighting Sioux Fans! The best there is.
  22. When you put the words you did in caps, to me it sounds mildly insulting. He was considered a risk to leave, and many thought he would as he did receive interest as a free agent. And when a guy like Ryan Duncan says he's coming back, I'll believe him. Maybe you didn't mean it to sound insulting, but that's how it came across. Oh, and I'm not saying you don't know anything, as I'm sure you do...just stating a personal opinion.
  23. this literally made my day! Even though, I kind of speculated since the end of the season that he would be one of the ones to come back, yet no one believed me. Ha!
  24. since my car broke down on my way home from GF, do you think oshie would mind using his signing bonus to buy me a new one? LOL...KIDDING! seriously though, i knew this was coming, but it still sucks. It definitely won't be the same without him next year. But, I wish him the best of luck. It's been quite the ride.
  25. Just a side note, but I was working at Target today and a guy wearing a WCHA OFFICIATING STAFF sweatshirt came through my checklane. So, I'd assume he's a ref. He wasn't very friendly. I thought about commenting about it, but he looked like a crab ass so I kept my thoughts to myself.
