I can see your theory with wisco up there, but not on minny. I think they'll be below us if they can't figure out their issues they had this year, as well as find some offense outside of schroeder (if he comes back).
-
Unfortunately... I agree with this statement. I'm planning to do everything in my power to jinx them however.

It's over. Done with. It's a waste of time to start putting blame anywhere b/c it doesn't change the heartbreaking loss. The boys that come back have some things to work on. With the way the tourney has gone, are we really surprised? Time to move on. What is it? 6 months til next season??

Why should I want UMD to win? To answer your question: I sat in front of the rudest, most obnoxious fans from duluth at the final five and due to that experience can no longer cheer for UMD EVER. It's a shame they had to tarnish my opinion of that team, but when I think of UMD ..., i just remember those jerks. That and I think they are way overhyped and the love affair with UMD is annoying and getting on my nerves.

I'll be cheering for Miami.

194th!! but if vermont wins....perhaps i can move up!

I had Vermont winning their game today, but picked wrong in the mich/af game and the miami/du game. I don't remember if I picked princeton or UMD... but i don't really care as all i want is this damn love affair across the country with UMD to come crashing down. it's getting on my nerves. But don't get me started on that.

damn it me too!!

Apparently michigan has a worse power play percentage than we do!

Man with the depressing flood around here... thanks for the laugh! Seriously I'm laughing so hard I'm about to cry!

Apparently Vandy had a separated shoulder last weekend? Hopefully the situation has improved. ON THE BENCH: One of the Oilers' top college prospects, U of North Dakota centre Chris Vande Velde, played last week at the WCHA finals in St. Paul, Minn. with a separated shoulder. He didn't show much to GM Steve Tambellini, but he couldn't do what he does best -- play aggressively. He will play this weekend in the NCAA's Sweet 16, however, as will 2007 first-round draft Riley Nash (Cornell).

AS is the real key here. Kidding aside, I'm interested to see who on the gophers does or doesn't come back.

oh funny. I have it the opposite. Notre Dame beating us. Baby steps... win a frozen four semifinal game. I'm usually terrible at brackets, so we'll see how I do. Last year I was screwed after the first day with all the upsets.

I didn't see any good games. Pretty sure I almost fell asleep during the wisco/du game on friday afternoon. They all seemed to be pretty one-sided. One team showed up to play. (Though during our UMD game, I felt like the boys tried their hardest but couldn't overcome those bad goals we gave up and couldn't get anything past stalock -- damn you alex!) I felt as though I should have driven to Michigan or whatever and watched the CCHA tourney in case there were some better games out there. ha!

SIOUX Recruits - 2008-09 Updates, Monitoring Their Junior League Play
siouxforce19 replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
Hak said somewhere that there are about 3 guys that are risks to leave. But he doesn't think we'll lose anyone... that said, I'm going to wait until after our season is over to worry about it. I hope Vandy comes back, but I don't know if he will. -
If Watty is out, which is what i'm guessing, and still can't play in regionals.... I don't see the PK getting much better. If we win one game next weekend, that may be enough for me considering how bad the special teams are... I'm frustrated, so I can't imagine how the boys must be feeling about that.
-
I wish I could say I was happy about UMD winning, but their fans sitting behind me ruined the entire Final Five weekend for me and made the games not enjoyable to be at. Stalock was a rock, and they showed up to play so they deserved to win, but my opinion of them is forever tarnished due to those idots behind me. P.S. -- I did like the mohawks
-
I sure hope the boys don't have that attitude!

Lucky you. I got some LOVELY Dogz fans by me. Needless to say, words were exchanged a few times. I really liked the comment about how Watkins knew that guy was going to knee him so he dived and took the penalty.

While most of us, if not all of us, agree that this bill is the stupidest thing we've ever heard... i feel as though we should leave people's political views out of the discussion. Thanks.

General Feeling From Sioux Fans
siouxforce19 replied to JESUS,family, rutgers's topic in Men's Hockey
I agree we need to see some improvement in our PP and PK. Our PK has struggled without LaPoint, so they need to step it up in that area. However, I feel pretty good about this team's chances in the national tournament, depending on regional matchups and such. I think we're one of the few teams in the country with the depth to take down BU and Notre Dame. That said, it's the playoffs and anything can happen... but I feel pretty good. But that's just me and I felt good about this team in the off season too. I'm excited to see what happens. -
I agree the officiating has gotten a lot worse. And a lot of the penalties to go uncalled are really dangerous ones, or they are not called correctly, such as boarding/checking from behind calls. This is not helping protect the players from dangerous injuries that could occur. All you have to do is look at how much Bruess got away with the last month or so. By not calling the game tighter, it allows players to get the mentality that they can get away with certain things, and I don't like that.
-
I'll attribute some of bad PK's on the absence of LaPoint. It really limits options because one time I remember I think Finley got a penalty so they had Blood on the PK. Other people need to step up and get the job done in the absence of missing players. So basically, no more penalty killers can get injured. I thought the penalty kill wasn't that bad against Wisco, but the powerplay was terrible. This weekend I thought the PK wasn't so good and the powerplay was not great, but better than it was against Wisco.

They just previewed the Final Five on FSN during the Wild/Blues intermission. I got a good laugh when they called Kangas one of the best goalies in the country.

I don't care if the opponents outplay us, outshoot us, etc. As long as we win that's all that matters. What you said is key, good teams find a way to win -- which is what we have done time and time again this season. I don't care if we play the worst game of our lives as long as we win. And I definitely can't see Minnesota doing all that much at the Final Five based on how they've played lately. If they had to play any other team besides st cloud in the first round, I don't think they'd even be there. And Minny can say Kangas is back all they want. I'll believe it when I see it....NEXT YEAR. 3 games doesn't justify anything to me. We will see what happens this weekend.
